  1. When we were in the third division in he 1970s we played against good sides like Bournemouth, Brighton and Chesterfield. Why aren't the spirites in the Prem?
  2. I have a feeling that all three clubs will win on Sunday.
  3. If I'd have written that in the 1980s they'd have locked me away in an asylum.
  4. Shame about Markanday. Should never have gone on loan to that club. I feel so sorry for the guy. How can you keep up your fitness and development languishing on the bench at Aberdeen FFS? Egil Ostenstadt was out of favour at Rovers but, being the true professional he was, went and trained hard with the youth lads. He was older and obviously mentally capable. Young Markanday?...............What a shame. I hope Rovers kept in touch and gave him some encouragement.
  5. No. Not for me. If I didn't support Rovers and had to choose a big city club it would be Everton. I've thought this for a couple of decades.
  6. I don't feel anything for Southampton fans. Glad they're down. Also my arms are open to receive Leicester and Leeds. Leicester were 1000/1 to win the prem according to the bookies the season they actually won it. I knew it wouldn't last and that within a few seasons they'd be relegated. Bring it on.
  7. Do their owners live on the other side of the world and never visit their club?
  8. Not sure? Hell, even I'd have been over the barrier if Rovers had done that incredible come back.
  9. I'm delighted the final is Luton v Coventry. I don't mind which one gets promoted. Glad to see 'Boro and TM's Sunderland out of it.
  10. Venus in blue jeans? Were the jeans ripped? Obviously not.
  11. It would help fans if a human being with common sense drew up the fixture list instead of relying on the useless AI.
  12. Finishes 3-5. I presume the play-offs are:- Kilmarnock v Partick Th Ayr Utd v Queens Park Come on the spiders!
  13. 3-3 at half time
  14. Jim, you keep harping on about Luton being a small, tinpot, little club who don't deserve to be in the top or even the second tier. Back in the early 1950s I remember the Rovers (with players like Kelly and Quigley etc.) battling against all the L's each season. These clubs were Liverpool, Leicester City, Leeds Utd and Luton Town.I considered them all to be big powerful clubs. The smaller ones of that era (to me) were the likes of Plymouth Argyle, Lincoln City (who once thrashed us 8-0 at their place), Rotherham Utd and Doncaster Rovers. Renrag will remember those days.
  15. Shame. Would have been a good experience.
  16. We all want Dack and Leonard. Effing do it!!
  17. I'm losing faith in JDT. Surely he can do better than this with a must-win game.
  18. Egil was a lovely player; one of my favourites.
  19. Andy Beyes says, "It's Groundhog Day at Ewood Park".
  20. Really??? We'll never score in a month of Sundays
  21. JDT to blame for playing him at CF
  22. I'll be glad to see him leave. He shouldn't be playing today. No heart.
  23. Souness amazed me when, facing a situation of injured and suspended players like Short and Tugay and facing "the mighty" Spurs who expected a stroll in the park in the League Cup Final, picked Henning Berg at centre back, Tiny Taylor at right back and the ageing Mark Hughes in midfield alongside Dunn. Pundits were saying Hughes would be withdrawn at half time. Then they said he wouldn't last the second half. He played the whole game. What a great manager to be so bold. I love watching this game over and over again.
  24. Joining neighbours Oldham Athletic. It's surprising the former league clubs that are there in the National League. Wrexham, Notts County, Southend Utd, Chesterfield, Halifax Town, Gateshead, York City, Aldershot, Torquay Utd and Scunthorpe Utd; eleven of twenty four.
  25. Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying, planning and dreaming.................. All you gotta do is win two and show us (fans) you really care.
