Hogan will score at least one. We need to bring our shooting boots. I have a horrible feeling about this game. -

Of course I'm joking. Sometimes, when one lives abroad, one loses one's British sense of humour. I know I did when I was abroad for 7 years. -

No complaints about the referee either. I wonder if that's because we won 3-0. -

The first 20 minutes was like watching paint dry. Then we scored a penalty and, lo and behold, we up our game. Thereafter we play well getting better and better as the match went on. As Tyrone said, I want to see us be strong enough to come from behind. Everyone played well. Morton was better in the second half. Hedges was superb. All the rest played well. Special mention for Sam Gallagher who ran his socks off whilst probably going unnoticed to most. His work rate is unbelievable. -
This is exactly it. Agree 100%

I'm not writing JDT off. I'm just questioning his style of play, why he still insists on it. When will he decide it doesn't work and will let the players express themselves more? He needs to sit down and give it serious thought.
-
Who thinks he will do anything about it? I don't. I think he is a stubborn sort of person who won't change the way we play. I really hope I'm wrong about that and I am forced to (happily) eat my words.

I'm beginning to lose faith in this "head coach"(manager). -

Jimmy Greaves looks no older than 9 in that photo so I would say the photo was taken in 1949. He's wearing shin pads that have sticks of wood or cane down them. I had a pair like that. I once had a hand-me-down football shirt with lace up neckline like the one on Greaves' pal but I didn't like it because it was red and not blue and white quarters. Great photo btw. -
Wright was only small but he could out jump 6 footers better than Le Saux.

And I am loving it. Man Utd and Arsenal swaggered around in the 90's and 00's because nobody could compete with them. Sky blue for me for a while yet. Utd beat Ipswich 9-0 once and their supporters loved it. I really wanted City to thrash them 9-0 today but it wasn't to be. Nice to see the "loyal" Utd fans streaming out of the stadium at half time......................Plastics!

v Millwall (h) 01/10/2022

Two of interest in the Millwall squad are 17 Callum Styles on loan from Barnsley and 20 Mason Bennett, Elliot's brother -
Having looked at Delap's Derbies I noticed Terry Shanahan whom I had completely forgotten.

I've done a bit of research. Matthew Brown & Co. Ltd. were formed in 1830 at Pole Street, Preston. They moved to Lion Brewery in Blackburn when they bought out Nuttall & Co. Ltd in 1927. So in that clip Nuttall & Co did indeed own Lion Brewery. -

In the 50s and 60s the beer was known as Lion Ales. Only later, in 70s and 80s it became known as Matthew Brown. Whether or not Nuttall & Co owned Lion before Brown I've no idea. Duttons were probably owned by the Dutton family. Dutton's O.B.J........"Oh be joyful" -

The missing one looks like Scott Sellars to me -
Going back to Tugay, he really did seem to have an invisible friend, often referred to on this board. He's still one of the best Rovers players I've ever seen.

Matthew Brown owned the Lion Brewery when I was young. Maybe two companies advertised on the riverside roof. -

Blackburn End and Riverside with Nuttall advert on roof. Two people walking on the hill the other side of the river. Did you notice the Sheff Utd goalkeeper was wearing a striped shirt just like his team mates? I don't think there were goal nets. Still, players were wearing modern shorts. -
It's sorted. I'm in Safari. I clicked on "View" then on "Actual size" and hey presto. So it looks like I had an enlarged window which was causing the problem. I sound like a GP talking😁

Same on Chrome as on Safari. Safari version is now 16.0 Not emptied any cache.........too complicated for me. Last time it seemed to sort itself out but I cannot understand why it's the same on Chrome.

I'm back to having problems. Same thing, almost. I have the ads at the bottom of the screen but there is no X to clear them. Hence I cannot clear the advert and so cannot click "Quote" or remove the "Quote" This has happened since my Mac was automatically updated. Help please.
