  1. I get that he is highlighting isolated instances. Given our current place in the foodchain we have to produce income from our academyplayers. I do think we have a good academy but we must always strive to do better. Its a difficult practice but the smart thing would be to make our first team better and progress while incorporating academyplayers and once in a while helping one or two make the step up to a better league and for BRFC to make a good profit from it. Its been a while since we have made good money from sales. Its positive though that we have become better at making a pathway for youngsters to play firstteam football for us.
  2. @Ewood AceThat was a depressing read. But spot on. Its hard to say what the reasons are for us not producing talent that generates big sales. I dont really get our strategy of loaning players. Yes Bellis and Elliott are big talents but why not try our own instead? Especially now when we are stuck in no-mans land. Why not throw in Garett, Whitehall, Harlock or Barnes and see how they fare? Or even Gilsenan or Weston? They are supposed to be big talents. I think we have shown that our current practice of letting them play u-23 and then loan them out to poor leagues when they reach 20 doesnt work.
  3. My two cents about todays game: When I first saw the line-up I thought that this game was very winnable. Especially when I saw Doncasters, that had their star man out. I was a bit baffled about Mowbray playing an attacking midfielder at RB. I thought he would have played Pike. During the game I was firstly very disappointed with the state of our pitch. An attacking team with aspirations of playing in the Premier League should be able to offer their players a better pitch than that. I was also very surprised to see the technical level of our players. Lots of poor first touches and lots of poor passes. Maybe the pitch partly to blame. As the game neared its end and we were chasing a goal or 2 I was surprised to see that there were no ballboys at todays game. Isn't there usually or is it a Corona thing? It seemed ridiculous seeing our players running to get a ball every time we had a throw-in. It also helped the opponent keep their defensive shape. Our players where below par today, no question about it. We should be able to score at home against a lower league team. Unpopular opinion: Pears did alright, but made one stupid error which will get him judged. No doubt he should have saved their goal, but to his defence he did save a one-on-one and seemed confident otherwise. Our back did as expected when playing two midfielders. Bell didn't do well but I expect he was subbed because he got a whack. Lenihan continues to disappoint me. His technical level is just not good enough. I actually thought Buckley did alright considering being played at RB, but that chance he missed........ Travis and Dack played as two players that have been out for ages. Had Dack gotten that huge chance before his injury he would have buried it, but he is not a striker. Travis looks off the pace. Dolan has a lot of skill and a lot of energy. He does some good things, but more often than not it amounts to nothing. He needs end product. Brereton worked hard, but lacked the skill today. Also he disappointed me with his technical skill. Mowbray seemed desperate as the game wore on. His subs screamed of desperation. His thinking must have been "just throw on everything semi-attacking no matter the cost". Conclusion: Should have won today. Not good enough. To many players off it. Mowbray seemed confused. If im trying to find some positives this game will contribute getting Dack and Travis back to matchshape.
  4. Whats with the pitch? TM has said that we are moving towards a more attacking style of play and we have some decent technical players. Yet this pitch is what we are offering our players? WTF.
  5. Howcome they only find out about 3rd party ownership when he is supposed to fly in for a medical? Is that the way it works? Someone comes out of the bushes and says "HEY, we need some cash as well"
  6. Wouldn't mind Nyambe and Lenihan renewels as well
  7. https://www.transfermarkt.com/blackburn-rovers/kader/verein/164/saison_id/2020/plus/1 I Dont know how accurate this is but if its true, then we have a couple of contracts we should be renewing.
  8. Defensively naive is pretty bang on the money. The good thing about this match is that we will be tested defensively.
  9. While we are at it TM could put Sam Vines on the visitlist. In generel I think there is a market of huge potential and skill in the MLS
  10. What I like about him is that he has always seemed quite confident and calm. He has played alot at a young age so got some good experience. He has been good in the air whenever Ive seen him. Are there any rumours about him? Would love to see him here. I Think there was a bid from an “established Championship club that belongs in the top of the League” in January
  11. Now thats just a mentality that says that Johnson gave up on the playoffs a long time ago.
  12. For a club as ours to be sustainable we have to A) buy players with potential cheaply, make them better and sell them for a profit. Or B - Buy quality players that will get us promoted. I cant really see which strategy Tony is working after. Sure we have bought Dack and Armstrong cheaply and could sell them for profit, but Tony has so many transfermisses that I don't really trust him to spend the money wisely.
  13. At least 6 of our starting players are nowhere near good enough to even being around the playoff places.
  14. https://www.eaguingamp.com/nicolai-larsen-signe-a-len-avant/ We should have been all over that. Free goalkeeper of decent quality. Hopefully TM has some tricks up his sleeve.
