  1. Hopefully can get the other side of the story before i meet with Mr Waggott tomorrow, and then ask him the question armed with the other side
  2. I've asked some questions at the wigan side from a friend who is part of the coaching team. I'm as livid as you regarding the situation, At the same time trying to be positive we may actually sign someone. However the facts are just not out there at present, bar he has signed a one year deal. Perhaps it needs its own thread?
  3. Can we park Nyambe for now, (will come back to it in a few days) Don't want to de-rail what could positive day and a possible signing, been nice to see a few pages of hope and the time for the inquest is not until we have all the facts.
  4. Reading up on him, struggled in championship, lost his place in team as their manager said he can't play wide or up front on his own. Asked to leave in January, after oxford came in for him, but due to the sale of the other guy to Bournemouth. Brittain seems a great capture, this guy probably not given he couldnt get into the Peterborough side
  5. 100% brittain he had blond highlights n alice band
  6. I'm not too sure wingback is his natural position tbh, in the times i've seen him, he goes looking for the ball
  7. Brittain was the standout player for Barnsley when we played them last season, i remember my brother commenting on it at the time, and off memory I cant remember too many more who left a lasting impression throughout the season. He did seem to be all over the pitch cropping up in every position throughout the game, more as a travis than a wingback tbh in what I remember. If the fee is £1.5 million, then thats good news as it shows we are going to spend some money, Be a good capture i think. On another note be interesting to see if O'Hare signs for Burnley and what they are paying, as really like the look of him too,
  8. Just to correct the above Thomas has been in touch and said he was not the one who gave the list to Vineeth, so my apologies to him. However here is the link confirming it happened, written by Nick Harris, who saw the original correspondence as confirmed in his article. https://www.sportingintelligence.com/2012/06/11/revealed-facebook-role-in-blackburns-transfers-as-fans-prepare-for-government-meeting-110601/
  9. Back to the a supporter picking players days, where he made a list of players based on fifa ratings, contract expiry, gave it Vineeth Rao and he went chasing them. I remember Singh once ringing me to say Huddersfield had knocked back our bids for Rhodes, is there anyone else lol? I said tongue in cheek, errr marian chamakch however you spell it. I choked on my toast the morning after as the back page of the Telegraph said in big letters. ROVERS LAUNCH BID FOR ARSENALS CHAMAKCH. Its no more functional now, than it was then, and its not even funny
  10. Always happy to buy anyone a beer, and meet fellow supporters, feel free to say hello as im either in blues or fanzone at all home games
  11. Its when you see things like this, that you remember why you care so much, and what riles you the most bud
  12. I certainly learnt a lot from each meeting, Be that talking to Hunt, Newsome, Coar, Beamish ,Shaw, Agnew, Singh, Silvester, Myers, Silk, Cheston. It was difficult at times especially when I became elected Chairman of the AG, as you'd have to put members thoughts across (which you didnt always agree with yourself) however you would address these with the same passion and delivery, as if they were your own thoughts. That being said ,i'm quite a straight talker and will always say it as it is, will re-direct a questions if I feel the answer is default and quite clearly not answering what is being asked. I dont get overwhelmed in meeting with anyone, and remain respectful and professional in meetings. I always tend to have back up to questions I ask, which is why they always found life most uncomfortable and ultimately are no longer here. Responses are rather predictable, which means, I dont make the questions predictable. I recall Paul Agnew sitting in Jacks chair and spurting how BRFCS, Twitter and the Action Group wont get rid of him. I did point out to him, that I will save that comment for a book, and would ask him his thoughts again in 6 months, however it would be unlikely he be still here. He was removed 4 months later!!! I will add, everyone is different and whoever you meet in the main are welcoming. The fear that they may break off communication can play on your mind a little, but then you get over that, as you realise your time and effort is worth far more to you than being fed garbage Given i'm no longer representative of anyone bar me, then I will certainly be asking everything which is currently concerning me
  13. Having to take the day off to see him, so hopefully he dont cancel as that days pay would buy next seasons season ticket
  14. Im gonna have to get one of these fa my coffee, and some of those dark sunglasses
  15. We have to consider the contracts we gave out to: Chapman last season to then loan him out? The big deal given to Mulgrew, only for us to then decide we dont fancy him any more. Negotiating does not appear one of our strong points
  16. Glad you felt he answered all your questions and you came away as positive as you was before you went in
  17. Lol i think you should come with me, tag team
  18. To put some perspective on things, Lenihan, Rothwell and Nyambe have gone. Wherever they went we'd be reading the same things, no ambition from the players and they are rubbish from the "get behind the club at all cost" crew. From the other side of the support, "sack the board, better than what we had or will sign, how we have fallen" If we were signing players, i think the above would become less relevant. The club has 6 weeks until the window shuts to address the holes in the squad, and until that window shuts, its very hard to judge, despite the worry.
  19. Taking on an additional Director in Broughton would suggest nothing has changed in the funding front. However the board, will continue to cut cost to stay in favour. Id not say its unambitious owners, but more so an unambitious board, who would rather show that they are season upon season cutting losses. I will ask this crucial question on Thursday, In 6 years, what have you achieved as the CEO of Blackburn Rovers!!!
  20. To think just over a year ago wigan went bust, lost player after player for peanuts, now they can get a player to sign a contract which we couldnt. We need to stop living in the past in terms of our stature, that's fallen season upon season since Jack died and dramatically more since Venkys. We are very much the mid 80s rovers now, but with a bigger stadium we cannot fill
  21. He was on a low wage here a few grand, and the new offer wasnt much better, wouldn't take much to sign for Wigan without them pushing boat out
  22. In fairness, he cant sign a professional contract until he is 17, so bar offer better terms now, i don't think anything more could of been done. Rovers biggest issue was publically talking him up 12 months ago, which puts him out there even more as vultures were already circling
  23. Knew when Pete said, it be true, Hopefully it gets sorted, if not i'm sure there will be a host of people saying he is shit anyway
  24. The fact he went Sheff Utd suggest if there was an inch of interest we couldnt afford it, and bar some paper talk there is no suggestion we even bid for him. Season ticket sales are low, sponsorship is local and very low in terms of revenue, Revenue in general is very low for a championship side, i'm not sure where people think the money is coming from to have a real go in the transfer market. GB will be finding life tough, as Valuations of players is beyond our means. Wages we can offer is only the money we have released by players moving on. Its the same collective budget. Transfer fees are going to be reliant on BBD sale and the generosity of the Raos on how much of that can be reinvested
