Yeah agreed, that's why [as someone else posted] this can only be judged after a lengthy period of cheaper tickets. We wont get that though. -
Many thanks to Albionus for the match preview. I think this is the first time we have had one from our opponents. We are all really grateful, thanks and good luck.

Overall sales top 20000 Wanderers believe their ticket sales, for this match, is down to their form - not the prices! Sounds like they don't want to recognise any impact of cheaper tickets on attendances. -
They just can't come to grips with the fact, that sometimes the opposition are better than them. Most knowledgeable fans in football eh? Baah!

Of course, they could reduce prices, but what would the fans think of lower league football again? Do you support the current offers and reduced prices from the club Den, or are you fearful that low ticket prices for certain games will lead to relegation? Well AESF, in The old gate debate we were talking about lower prices for ALL games weren't we, not certain games? There have been offers for certain one-off games for years now. Low ticket prices for certain games wont lead to relegation as we all know. You aren't saying that are you? Of course I support the current offers, who doesn't. That doesn't mean that rovers will be able to charge the current lower prices permanently. To do that, they will have to reduce season ticket prices as well as match day admissions. This is a trial IMO. It all depends on the public reaction. If I have to put my money on whether this will lead to permanently reduced prices at this level of cost, I don't think it will. I don't think the public response will be that great. Hope I'm wrong though, I really do.

We did have, a few seasons back.

There's something unique about the north east fans. When the going's good, they're there in their thousands. Hit a bad patch though and they're nowhere to be seen. Sunderland can fill their stadium with 48000 fans one day, then within weeks can lose 20000 of those. Even rovers don't do that. Best fans in the land?

Good match summing up from a south african/ Liverpool supporter.
-
Liverpool 3 - 0 rovers
-
I also remember Souey going three at the back - when we weren't losing. We usually lost.
-
Hmmm? Now would he get into most of the top teams in Europe? The answer might surprise one or two.

They have both been nominated for the FIFA world player of the year award. Football 365

About 1s 3d when I first went. Remember when everybody said they wouldn't go again, if it ever reached 2 bob*. Remember season tickets looked like cloakroom tickets as well. Just a small book with numbers 1 to 20 for the league games and a few cup tokens in the back. *Maybe that's what happened eh?

Sporting life Full article from Hughes. Cocker - of course you can't blame Hughes for trying, you wouldn't want anything else would you?
-
He still gets slagged off, even now FLB.
-
No, not because Barcelona are rumoured to be interested, nor did I even hint that he was great. He has however, been slagged to death by some people on here. What I said was that he's one of the best defenders around. I'll stick to that. His performances have been excellent for a long time. -in my opinion, of course. We would struggle to find someone as good as Neill. Don't forget, he can play anywhere along the back four also.
-
Maybe all the past doubters will now recognise that Lucas is one of the best defenders around.

Not in this squad, but is named in the profiles [bottom of page].

Bolton evening news It isn't just rovers fans staying away. "Wanderers, who averaged 26,718 in 2003-04 are currently running at 22,566 and, apart from the game against newly-promoted Watford, crowds are all well down on last season's corresponding fixtures: Tottenham (26,634 down to 22,899), Middlesbrough (22,733 to 21,164) and Liverpool (27,604 to 25,061). The Spurs and Liverpool games were screened live on Sky TV, which will have had a bearing on the crowd figures, but there is no denying that there is a worrying trend developing, the first signs of which became evident in the summer, when season ticket sales slumped from last year's record 19,000 to an estimated 16,000 (Wanderers have repeatedly declined to reveal the precise figure) despite prices being pegged.

Can't make it since it was moved to Sunday.

Most people are staying in Amsterdam. The advice I have, is that Rotterdam can be a nasty place. We booked thro' Octopus travel into the Europa 92 hotel.

John, if you use This site, it says trains run until well after midnight and regularly.

Just one more word about being onside if you are behind the ball. Wikipedia "A player is in an offside position if "he is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second to last opponent," unless he is in his own half of the field of play. A player level with the second to last opponent is not in an offside position. Note that the last two opposing players can be either the goalkeeper and an outfield player, or two outfield players. In general, what this means is that either the attacking team should ensure the opposing team having at least two players (of which the opposition's goalkeeper is included) in between the goal line and the nearest player of the attacking team, or all players of the attacking team should be behind the ball such that it remains closer to the goal line than any of the player of the attacking team."
