  1. 3-3 Birmingham against Birmingham two months ago... One.
  2. Relative lack of qualty? I can rem far far worse! Trouble is that in the last decade we have been spoiled in a way that the fans of other teams similar in stature to ourselves have not. Theno, you don't seem able to accept that the last two seasons have been absolutely dire. I struggle to remember a game which could be called entertaining.
  3. SSN say Bellamy has declined Brums offer.
  4. Great stuff Ben and Marc. Thanks a lot. The previews this season have been better than we could have hoped for, well done everybody.
  5. Blimey Dado Rangers were told a week ago, you can have him. No problem - he's yours. Just pay the money.
  6. Good shout for the manager. Does being out of the country affect your ability to scroll to the top of the page?
  7. It isn't rubbishTashor. Normally, teams playing exciting/entertaining football don't lose all the time. What Paul is saying and I agree with, is that what we have had to endure for the last two seasons at Ewood has been partly, if not greatly responsible for the huge drop in S.T. sales. It's not a coincidence that this season [the third season of mediocre football], has coincided with the second 10% drop in season ticket sales. High prices, Sky Tv have been around much longer than the last two seasons.
  8. That will roughly be what is in the papers tomorrow or Tuesday - an entirely predictable compromise . So assuming we have already paid Rangers around £4.5m we lose the player and £2.5m immediately reducing to a "mere" £2.1m in the summer. Some compromise. I still think Rovers would have to be crackers to accept such a deal at this stage. The way the deal works is that the £2.1m owed is waived, with £2m being paid up front now. Another £900k will be paid in the summer, regardless of appearances made. The total deal should come to around £5m guaranteed, with no clauses or appearance nonsense. Is that £5m guaranteed or as you said originally £4.5m?
  9. He'll only join a championship team if he wants to. They could let him rot, but that's gonna cost Newcastle a fortune to do that.
  10. One possibility is that rovers are still after him on loan. If Bellamy were to turn Brum down, that would leave Newcastle with two options - keep him and pay his wages even though they wont play him, or loan him out. I know they said they wouldn't accept a loan but that may be the only real choice for them. It's all down to Bellamy really.
  11. But, on a Saturday afternoon, Robson put out a team of real quality. Will Souness be able to do that after shipping the troublemakers out? That's the acid question.
  12. just add another £1.5m to that and you've got a deal. How many more times do Rovers have to tell Rangers, its £6m they want!!! And John Williams knows he cannot realistically expect £6m in a depressed marketplace! If someone can get Fernando Morientes for £6.3m or Michael Owen for £8m, go figure. 18 months ago those players would have cost at least £2m or £3m more on top of those prices. Plus, Ferguson sustained a bad knee injury while playing for you lot, so who's to say one bad smack in the knee and he's out again? Hughes is also chasing Bellamy from what I've been told, and has publicly admitted the piggy bank is empty. It makes no sense to hold onto a player who despises playing for you and then pay MORE money to keep him, and STILL pay him £35k a week. What's the point in paying him all that money till the summer when he WILL walk back to Glasgow for £4m anyway? Dado, you were doing well, early on. "And John Williams knows he cannot realistically expect £6m in a depressed marketplace!" Says who? You got £8m for Boumsong didn't you? ___________________________________________________________ "Plus, Ferguson sustained a bad knee injury while playing for you lot, so who's to say one bad smack in the knee and he's out again?" He would have to take a medical, wouldn't he? ___________________________________________________________ Listen - Ferguson has been a disgrace in all of this. You blame Viola for the problems but do you really think Ferguson is blameless. I've no doubt that Ferguson will end up going back to Rangers, but it will be when ROVERS decide. If your beloved club had acted with dignity and come in with an attractive offer, he would be back at Rangers now. there's one real reason why he's still at Ewood, the totally inept way all three parties [rangers, Viola and Ferguson] have behaved. Amateurs!
  13. It will be a shame to have this topic disintegrate into another racial punch up. The topic is Barry Ferguson. stick to it please.
  14. He always seems to be under pressure. Never has time on the ball. The way he plays, he also looks like he's gonna get sent off for dragging someone back. However, he is young and does have certain attributes, if channelled properly gives him a chance of making a career over here.
  15. He obviously thought that Rovers would simply write off £3.5m, just so he could go play football somewhere else. Moderators aren't allowed to swear. Shame.
  16. Ferguson due to hold showdown talk. He thinks rovers were asking an unreasonable sum. L.E.T. He would be better advised to ask Murray why they provoked him into asking for a transfer, then wouldn't/couldn't pay the fee.
  17. Quotes from John Williams. " I never thought Rangers were serious after their initial bid of £3m." Scottish Herald
  18. It would be utterly insane for him to do other than keep quiet. We'll see if he can keep quiet. My point is that if he comes out with the "I love Blackburn and am very happy here and the only club I would have gone to was Rangers" bit, he will be open to question. He can be accused of trying to pacify those he wanted to desert. If he'd have said that before the outcome, he would have had a little more respect. As for JW's handling of all this: excellent.
  19. It's god help Fergy if he misplaces a pass. All eyes to the top tier. I'll be watching you mate.
  20. I would put my money on it being dead until summer, when Rangers will come back with a very similar offer and get their man. I don't have a problem with that,- never had. I would have had a problem with him going now, for £500.000 [first offer] and no time to replace him.
  21. This is why he would have been better to come out a week ago and explain the situation. It will be far more difficult to make himself believed now.
  22. Ferguson might have made things easier for himself, if he'd have come out into the open earlier.
  23. Blackburn Rovers have announced that a further offer, from Glasgow Rangers, of £3.5m, rising to £4m after appearances has been rejected. The Glasgow Rangers official website has responded by saying no further contact will take place. Is this the end of the proposed deal or will there be another twist? Keep in touch with the views of Rovers supporters on this and other transfer stories on the messageboard of BRFCS.com Click here.
  24. Rangers official site Tosspots. Like I said earlier, they got Ferguson to cause unrest, then dumped him.
  25. So I guess that: New Offer Rejected: http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/New...~619524,00.html Answers that:
