  1. Need to be switched on from first kick of second half. I expect Coventry to be a different side.
  2. I actually think Brittain is a weak link for us.
  3. Wish we’d had a centre forward on the end of the free header.
  4. Lose tonight and the play offs are gone IMO. Deep down the players and manager will know that as well. If the build up from the back isn’t a whole lot better and quicker, winning will be impossible. Coventry will have watched us. I’ll be amazed if they don’t close down any short build up play from Pears. I hope to goodness JDT thinks that way too.
  5. Good post Tyrone. Like Bankend Rover though, I thought we started okay. It didn’t last too long. It soon reverted to the heart in the mouth stuff where we start playing keep ball in our own area. It isn’t a matter of if we’ll cock up, it’s a matter of when. It happened a few times but luckily we got away with it. Like Mercer said as well, JDT’s explanation of his team selection was total bollocks. He’s really being too clever, putting too much emphasis on complicated tactical schemes when surely, if he steps back, it’s obvious that that particular team selection just doesn’t work. Main picks. Morton… he’s there to be the link between defence and attack. He’s defensively lacking and creates nothing. He just doesn’t contribute enough and never will. Hyam…. Looks very uncomfortable with this tippy tippy approach. Brereton….. for a while now we’ve been better off without him. Gallagher….. aargh. I don’t see a single thing that he brings to a team. Nothing. He’s a liability, makes us worse no matter how bad we are to start with. Thomas….. looks like a third division winger to me. Pretty quick but nearly always takes the wrong option. It happened a number of times even in such a short time. Wouldn’t buy him in the summer. Wharton…. Has the ability to cut teams open with one ball. He should be playing far more minutes than he is. I dont go along with the view that there’s no effort. I think there’s plenty of that. It’s the balance of the squad and the lack of quality players in key positions that’s the problem in my view.
  6. Gallaghers a liability.
  7. Rovers vs North End at Wembley? Anyone fancy that?
  8. I hope the guys at 4000 holes don’t mind me posting this. A goal that none of us present would ever forget.
  9. His vision and touch are outstanding.
  10. I wonder if JRC could play centre foward? 🙂 His strengths are going forward, not defending, that’s for sure.
  11. 92nd minute and so avoidable. Reading player plenty of time to clear, under no pressure, slices it for a corner. PNE score from it. 🤬
  12. They look just as likely to get a third, as we do a first.
  13. If the coaches and manager thought Leonard was good enough, he would be much closer to the first team than he currently is. Certainly being a striker he would. He’s 20 is he? Scoring goals at lower level means very little. We must have had hundreds of them in my time. I see he’s 19.
  14. Remember it well. Downhill from there.
  15. I would leave Brereton out and start with Dolan again. Our best form was when Dolan and Smods were running at defenders. I really believed we were going to surge into the play offs a month or so back. I thought we were looking the real deal - the best team we’d had since relegation from the Prem. How many times in my lifetime have we done exactly this - promised such a lot then fallen away really badly? Desperately need to avoid defeat at the very least in this game, but just as importantly we need to show we’re still good enough. Wish I could say I think we will.
  16. When the tip of your arrow is made of Jelly, you’re always going to struggle.
  17. It’s also free and live on lancstv as are most games.
