  1. He is not playing on the left wing and you know that very well
  2. I have great confidence in Brereton. He is young and we took him out of his comfort zone and then played him in a wrong position. Absolutely appalling management. Fortunately he is now being played in his proper position and we can see what he is about. I think eventually we will be saying money well spent. Oh and every credit to the lad.
  3. Agree, Greaves had the lot and I liked his style when he used to just pass the ball into the net. However, lest we forget, it was our very own Andy McEvoy who shared the golden boot with Jimmy Greaves.
  4. Sorry but it’s not often I disagree with you but tonight the reason we didn’t ship 3 or 4 was because of their woeful finishing. Balls were coming through without challenge, how the lad missed that header towards the end was unbelievable. Pears couldn’t command his 6 yard area without anyone there. It was pathetic.
  5. That was an awful display, outfought and outplayed. We were lucky to get a point. We were lucky to get nil.
  6. I don’t know, this season is turning into so many in the past. Being a rovers supporter: Its anticipation Then expectation suddenly realisation finally desperation
  7. We are short at centre back, we are short at full back, we are short on the wing, we are short up front. I know let’s sign a midfielder, we only have 14 of them. Cheers Tony
  8. Just read that Mowbray has stated it will take time for Pears to adjust. FFS he’s a goalkeeper, what is there to adjust to? Goals have always been 8yds x 8ft, penalty spot 12yds penalty area 18yds and goal area 6yds. As he has been a keeper throughout his life, what the hell does he need to adjust to? Just asking.
  9. This team has potential. If Venky’s want to go places then they need to sort out a replacement for Mowbray now! Give whoever the appointment is time before Christmas window then back him. There is enough talent in the squad to to get through to the window to keep us within striking distance. It’s now or never
  10. Was talking to a friend of mine in the pub, yes in the West Country we can still go in pubs, who is a Leeds supporter. I told him this year we would score allot of goals, however we would concede allot of goals. He then told me that Douglas would fit in well.
  11. Gallagher v Brereton. Months ago I commented that I saw a footballer in Brereton but at that time he was being played out of position. I took some flack for saying that on this site and bar the odd one or two, the replies where what a waste of money. This season he has been a revelation but consider that he is now being played in position and that resulted in a wonderful performance today. I think my initial assessment is ok but time will tell? I also commented about Gallagher in the same post saying that I wasn’t sure and I still am not but he must be played in position, no longer stuck out on the wing like a fish out of water but should be given a chance.
  12. The ball from Brereton was superb and not the first time this year.
  13. Paul, I always look out for your posts as I think we are on the same wavelength but tonight although playing well going forward, I think defensively we are very poor and can be picked off far too easily. I hope you are right and we will get into the top 6 but alas I fear that until something is done about that defence albeit in terms of personnel or set up then we will really struggle to beat inferior teams on a regular basis.
  14. We look ok going forward but defending we look like the railway tavern on a Sunday morning. This problem has been going on far too long. Something needs to be done and done quickly. People are talking about top 6, but if nothing is done about that defence in terms of personnel or set up then I am worried about bottom 3.
  15. Half time team talk from Watford manager. Right lads, just attack them down their left side.
  16. Sunderland are a basket case. We are better than Sunderland and I couldn’t care less about them.
  17. He did deliver but let’s be honest promotion from league 1 was the simple bit for a club of our stature. We where up against the likes of Shrewsbury for heavens sake. He did get us into mid table safety but some of his decisions have been abysmal when playing players out of position, how many right sided players did he play on the left? I believe now we have a squad, at least on paper that can compete, so having got his recruitment sorted, he needs to deliver, otherwise he will be on his bike and quite rightly.
  18. Very different season to come. Mowbray gets what he wants (more or less) Venkys put another 18 million into the club presumably to keep us afloat over Covid but also to cover salaries for our new players. For the first time, Mowbray now needs to deliver.
  19. I think that is a tragedy, with the recruitment of a half decent left back who is able to defend properly and who will balance the team, I honestly believe we can make a challenge. Sure we will need luck on the injury front but any team promoted does. This coming year with what has happened and money being scarce for every club, then now is the time to risk a gamble and go for it. In any walk of life, successful companies have always taken a punt at the correct time, and while others struggle then I believe now is that time. Have our owners and management got the balls to do it?
  20. Today was good and we can only play what is in front of us. However, anyone who has played football knows, we need a new left back for Two reasons. 1 We need better defence in that area when pressure is on, particularly when we are playing better teams than Wycombe. 2. We also need to improve the balance of the team, without the need for central defenders being pulled out of position to cover in that area.
  21. That looks more like Bryan Douglas. That man has so much talent
