  1. I'm not sure Travis is up to the pace yet, but ya, a case could certainly be made for Davenport. I just want us to keep a clean sheet and I think Johnson and Trybull offer the most experience and solidity. Could be being overly cautious though. I'm just tired of seeing us concede pathetic goals.
  2. Luckily his path is clear and there is no "Mowbray muddling" with new signings needing to learn from the Mowbray bunch
  3. Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Branthwaite Douglas Trybull Johnson Elliott Dack Brereton Armstrong It's time. Back to basics. Accumulate points.
  4. He is near the Everton first team, in fact he was in the first team. He was on the bench for their last 3 games and has even started PL games. I don't know if Mowbray specifically said anything about their physicality, but anyway , you really have to take palyers on an individual basis. As you say, the signs point to this guy, 18 or not, being better than what we have available. He could even be better than Wharton by the sounds of things.
  5. Certain things Armstrong did spoke for themselves. Many posters agreed. I called it like it was. It's wasnt undermining him. I also give him plenty of credit when it's due. So unlucky, try again. I must have missed all that positivity you were showing. I must have been serving my underserved ban at that point 🤣
  6. You're hellbent on undermining the signing, but in your usual style you pepper a few comments in to cover yourself in case he turns out to be class. 4 premier League games at 18, at centre half, is very impressive. For a team in the top 4 no less, selected by one of the world's great managers. Undermine that all you like, but most people can see the reality of the situation.
  7. I would say there is no doubt we will take up the option for 12 months. So If he doesn't sign a new deal after that, he will be sold in January.
  8. I meant it's not a debate. JRC is next in line
  9. It's not. Our right back is Nyambe. Some are just intent on making Buckely into a player he isn't, even at right back.
  10. Bizzare logic. Buckley is the worst of the 3 at right back. Imagine him trying to defend against a good winger, god almighty. Don't misunderstand that I am saying Bennett or Douglas are good rights backs.
  11. He was though. That's why Fergie signed him. Who knows fully what happend him after that.
  12. So you think Carter is better than Branthwaite? Why do you think that?
  13. Of course you would know after 4 games at that level. You would know after 30 minutes.
  14. Well you said he's younger, so what did you mean by experience? I would say first team experience, including playing Premier League games would put him ahead of Carter. It shows he is ahead abilitywise anyway, doesn't it?
  15. You're entitled to set your hopes wherever makes you comfortable man 😊 that's the beauty of football.
  16. Young, less experienced and you forgot an important word "better". Anyways, you're wrong on saying he's less experienced , aren't you?
  17. The comments from Everyon fans are glowing @roversfan99 and @JHRover may need to turn their frowns upside down 🤣
  18. Watched Liverpool against Newcastle a few weeks back. Mane out jumped Fernandes a couple of times. He mustn't be far off a foot smaller than him. Mane has some leap on him. He would be beating BB and Gallagher in the air all day.
  19. Did you read the post? Focused on the signing of this lad, it was incredibly "pessimistic" , to put it mildly. The signing is what it is. Sounds like a player. Other clubs use the loan market too, we aren't unique. Nothing further to add.
  20. I would be surprised if they loaned him out. I'm not a huge fan to be honest, good set pieces, but that's about it. He's probably as good as what we've got though.
  21. No, but you need to be strong. Those lads weren't getting shunted off the ball by a stiff breeze
  22. Buckley was very poor Trybull looks to have far more strings to his bow, the main one being that he's an adult man Beyond maybe 1 game where he played right back ,I haven't heard 1 person say that they have been impressed by Douglas
  23. He doesn't look to be focusing on that though, does he?
