TRANSFER THREAD - JANUARY 2021

I agree JRC hasn't set the world alight, but he looks more like a man and isn't knocked off the ball like a feather -

Ridiculous 🤣 Decent signing from what I have seen and read. Best of luck to the lad. F*** the begrudgers! -
By the time he was 19 Sterling had played for Liverpool, scored 10 PL goals and won the golden boy award. Surely he wasn't even far off 19 when he made his England senior debut? Dolan isn't anywhere near the same bracket for his age.
-
All from 2 games though, right? Games early on when we hammered the opposition. Since then he appears to have dropped off/been found out by defenders. Mowbray isn't helping the lad though with how he is using him.

I think the evaluation is onoing. If he somehow manages to get us into the play off places, he will prove a lot of us wrong. Here's hoping. -
Hard to know
-
Neil wouldn't excite me at all.
-
Stinker of an appointment alright.
-
I suppose people had no choice but to try and be optimistic.
-
I would say Barton would be a far bigger shock and people would be very unhappy. Burnley links aside, many were cautiously optimistic about Coyle. They could certainly surprise us though!
-
I would hope we could attract a better candidate than any of those, but that's the main risk with sacking Mowbray. Joey Barton though, why even name him? Lol

I wonder did Yaya bring his boots? I would imagine he could do a job at centre half. I'm actually deadly serious -

Ok, one reason is stability ,right? Probably under that category too is potentially getting someone worse? All legitamite, but ultimately we are under performing and now our gameplan more often than not is us; controlling possesion, creating little and conceding soft goals. Can he turn things around enough for us to go on a run as get into the play offs? I certainly hope so, but it's becoming hard to imagine. We will be expecting a lot of whatever centre half we sign. 4-3-3 doesn't suit Dack unless we try him in midfield. Then will he still be a goal threat? I notice other teams change formation mid game and it seems fluid enough. We never do that. We stay the same, but just bring on attackers everywhere. Most if all though I was concerned by the body language yesterday, some of the players didn't look interested, especially the subs he brought on, Eliott aside. Mowbray himself certainly didn't fill me with confidence. I wouldn't say he looked like he didn't care, but he was very tense and it looked like there was a tension between him and the players. -

If we get 0-1 points from the next 4 games say, would you still want him to stay? -

If I saw that happening with my under 14s, I would lose the plot. I think you're being kind to Brereton saying he is tracking back though, he was hardly busting a gut either. I think in the first pic Johnson should have been out. Lenihan has a man, but other than that, there aren't many passes for their palyer with th the ball. It's around there Johnson would have been standing if was midfield and he should have seen that, to be honest we missed him in midfield. Let's just hope yesterday stands to Travis and Dack fitness wise. Actually just looking again, look at Buckley. Oblivious to his man and completely out of position. He's surely not the best option for right back we have available. -

Big fan of Sharpes article. Yesterday was pitiful and fair play to him for calling it. A real bad pattern is after developing and the players and management seem unable to shake it. I notice in his last line he said a deal for a new centre half had been sanctioned, hurry up and get it done so. Time is of the essence. -

Not yesterday, but clearly I was talking generally about bizzare personnel choices -

What if we get 0-1 points from the next 2 games? We would 100% be out of play off contention then, I don't think we are at the moment, but I do think the performances have been very concerning and getting progressively worse, rather than better. We have been on a dreadful spiral of performances since and including the Bristol city game. Lucky we had Birmingham to play and we could have easily drawn that. The players looked confused yesterday. I had no idea what the plan was. It harkens back to when Celtic sacked him. He's muddled at the best of times, but now he seems to have completely gone down a confusing rabbit hole. Buckley right back, Dack/Elliott false 9 and obviously Gallagher on the wing. It's all nonsense. -

The puzzled and confused looks at him yesterday suggest he might have. It was all very confusing and that frustrates players If it's them or him, don't think the players won't save themselves -

The role doesn't suit Sack, no doubt about that. Has to be in the midfield 3 and see how he goes -

Ya Downing is the only one who regularly isn't afraid to give out.
