January transfer window 2020
Bigdoggsteel replied to GunnerRover7's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I would agree with you there, but from what I gather he's either not as good as some on here make out, or he has a very bad attitude, because it doesn't add up he is still there at 26, in League 1. -

The goals and assists tables would disagree. Non-existent when we played them and hasn't led P'Boro to anything near promotion. So, wait, WBA weren't in for him so? At 26, with the way you speak of him, it's really, really amazing no one at this level has been in for him...or maybe they are all waiting 3 years for him to be out of contract -

Debatable what you mean by top, top 20 maybe. Speculation that he has been courted. My guess would be if WBA were actually in for him, the deal would be done. I can't see how it wouldn't be. I know, I can see you're a fan alright. -

Doesn't really add up. Peterborough are a selling club. Returns? Less than 10 goals a season and a few assists. It's not bad, but it's hardly setting the world, or even League 1 alight. As I said, I think some are over estimating this lad. No harm on a free, provided the rumours of a poor attitude aren't true. -

He must be the only player in history not to get his way and a move so! Very odd. Or maybe there is another reason why he hasn't moved. I have read rumours of a bad attitude. -

Dack had won League 1 player of the year TWICE at that point. Dack signed for us at 22/23 with the understanding that he would be in the Championship the year after. Maddison is still in League 1 at 26. -

Dack was 22 or 23 when we signed him. Maddison is 26 now. Doesn't add up. Maybe he would be ok, but why hasn't anyone taken a chance -

Why has he played his entire career at League 1 level or lower if he is "top quality"? He is 26 now. -

Football manager predicts league table https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11688/11902170/football-manager-2020-predicts-final-sky-bet-championship-table Does football manager know that Dack is injured? -

It's not like for like. I'm not saying get rid of Evans, in fact yesterday I said for the fee we would get it wouldn't be worth selling him. If we offloaded Smallwood I would take Whelan McNair is like Maddision, someone who was mentioned here before and now fans hold him up well above his ability. -

NO, I agree. It's just if we offloaded Smallwood I would certainly take Whelan -

No, I like Johnson, but he has missed far too many games, for whatever reason. On his day he is great, I just had very high hopes for him as I think we missed someone with his attributes for a long time. Hopefully we see more of it for the last 20 games. -

No, I haven't but I read he got MOM in 5 of their 8 home games I would agree abut bringing him as a coach with limited, if any game time -

I'd say he could probably do better than what we have seen of Johnson. Really we just need a partner for Travis. So ,as it stands, we already have a good few options. None ideal though. I wouldn't say Whelan would be the answer either, I would be thinking more in a coaching capacity. -

if 6 players is 20%, that means Mowbray would have signed 30 players-is that right? Or just speculation ? Same age as Downing, although I will admit I wouldn't be expecting that level of performance. -
So, not that easy I don't think. Lets be having your votes so! Funnily Walton could be a contender for this and worst player so inconsistent has he been. Inconsistent being the key word for the entire team. Have to probably give it to Armstrong as things stand.

Which is what Chaddy himself said to me yesterday when I pointed out Johnson and Downing would have had big signing on fees! -

Would have made sense to wait for Gallagher then, we would have £6 million extra and its not like we would have missed Brereton. Bizzare signing. -

Linked with Glen Whelan again I read.Had a big fall out with Stendel at Hearts. If we managed to offload Evans and Smallwood I would take him on a free, but he shouldn't be a starter, nor would he be. Great pro and good to have around with his experience. Would be relatively cheap at this stage and would allow us to focus cash money on other areas. Maybe with a view to coaching, we have a lot of young midfielders who could learn from him. He certainly has a pretty decent career behind him , in the last 15 years he has played 10 seasons at Premier league level and 5 at Championship level with almost 100 international appearances. Ha ha, I sound like his agent. He has gotten a rough time off Ireland fans over the years, myself included, but from reading from ex-managers it's clear now what he brings. He's still starting for Big Mick and probably will again against Slovakia in March. -

I think he has made about 50/50 good and bad, the problem is some of the good ones aren't performing due to Mowbrays meddling with line-ups, dropping players who are doing well for no reason other than to keep others happy. If I played for him, I would think he's going to drop me regardless of what I do. Unless you are one of his favourites. -
So, Scott Steiner.... I said here early on when I started posting that Scott Steiner is probably my favourite wrestler, top 3 for sure. His US title and World title runs in WCW were when I got back into wrestling after watching it very young. I watched WWE intermittently after that and next time was ,funnily enough, TNA with Cristina, AJ styles and Scott Steiner et al. He had deteriorated at that point. His runs with those 2 titles in WCW was great, he was a bad ass and ran rough shot through whoever got in his way. I won't mention his WWE run after that. Obviously the Steiner brothers were great too. Remember watching a match of theirs of WCW recently(pre blonde hair and roids), it was against 2 jobbers. To be honest, they probably should have gotten jail for what they did to those 2 poor boys. An absolute destruction. Scott gave 1 of them a back flip power bomb followed by a running frankensteiner to the other. He threw the guy off the ropes and frankenstiered him on the way back. It looked brutal. He really was a genetic freak. However, not sure about his unveil last night. Something abut bringing in guys like that cheapens the NWA brand in my mind. The Rock n Roll express were different as they hadn't been active that much prior to the NWA revival. I actually thought it was Kevin Nash last night, something about that would have fit better for me, maybe that's odd as people would probably categorize him as similar to Steiner. I suppose it ultimately depends on what they do with him, but he just can't really go anymore, can he? Gold on the mike, but does his style suit NWA? Will give them the benefit of the doubt and see how this goes.

The only problem we got from paying Rhodes £40,000 I believe it was, was that we actually signed someone to score goals..wait that's not a problem actually, is it? No we don't know specifically, but we can make estimates. It's gas how you use the "we don't have evidence" line when it suits you, but then you proceed to throw out guesses, speculation and estimates yourself on a daily basis! -

I would take 1 Bamford over Gallagher and Brereton. Would certainly have been cheaper too!
