  1. Ya, but we signed Johnson and Downing and gave them big signing on fees. I have nothing at all against those transfers at all, I just don't see why we can't stretch that to wages if it works out the same. Indeed, I have no doubt that's the thinking on those lads
  2. Personally I think both Brereton and Gallagher should have been put on weight programs to put on mass. I'm amazed than Brereton in particular is still as scrawny as when we signed him. I think his height is all he has going for him, if I was him I would be working on getting stronger with it. Is it laziness on his part or poor from the club? Like hes not just skinny, he is scrawny.
  3. Not a fan, but vastly better player from what I have seen. Watched Breretons highlights there on youtube. He scores some goals, but I still struggle to see what his main strength is. The goals are generally him running ahead of the last man and finishing. Can't take away the goals, but none showed me strength, rapid pace or Jordan Rhodes type finishing
  4. Indeed and if the team are winning, everyone gets more win bonuses etc If teams aren't doing well, I am sure they will find something else to blame other than a lad on slightly more 1000s than them per week
  5. I would say there is or was 0% chance of that happening.
  6. Whats the difference between giving Johnson or Downing a big signing on bonus and lower wages as opposed to spreading it out in wages for someone like Grabban? Well, if the player on bigger wages was doing the business, I doubt anyone would care what he was on. If we weren't doing well, as is the situation now, the players need to sort it out, can't see a player on a few grand less being that much of an issue. Sure wasn't Jordan Rhodes on big wages?
  7. Ya, I will give them all a bell after work. Bit busy now.
  8. Isn't it all the one then though really? Why not just sign Grabban as opposed to signing someone on less and making the difference up with a signing on fee?
  9. Are you sure about that? The average salary in the Championship is £25,000 and isn't our wages something like 154% of turnover Can't help but think Johnson and Downing would be on 20 or more
  10. I said more than 20k, so if he took a pay cut from 24k, he could still be on more than 20k Chaddy. They would be gambles to be fair. I would love Joe Lolly, great player anytime I see him. Not happening though!
  11. With the fee we paid for Brereton, I bet you he came in on the same or more than some lads who are now wondering why that's the case. It's always a gamble and I am sure we would be critisizing if it didn't work out, but to be fair someone like Grabban has proven himself to be able to do a job at this level wherever he was.
  12. I always had a feeling Mulgrew and Evans were on more than 20. Could be wrong though Not sure Bundesliga 2 is equivalent to Championship Chaddy. I reckon outside the top teams in Bundesliga 1 is closer to the Championship. I can't write this guy off or say he will do well as I never heard of him. I would imagine nobody on here had bar maybe 1 or 2. Why wouldn't you want Sinclair here? I wouldn't either because I don't think he would end up being much good at left back.
  13. ? It's a habit Should be £s
  14. If it freed up wages which meant a new player , sure, but I wouldn't sell him for the sake of it.
  15. He's on £35,000 a week. What would our highest earner be on? Maybe we should re-evaluate and pay higher wages, rather than spending £5 or £6 million on lads that there are no guarantees will ever come good.
  16. Not surprising when you think about it. Not sure about the below though, has he played in defense more than once? Versatile performer Evans fits the bill for Stoke as he can play in midfield as well as in defence The thing about Evans is he is probably in our best 11 and realistically what would we get for him? Would free up some wages, but that doesn't meant anything if we don't replace him. Any sign of Davenport being ready? I suppose Bennett will probably end up in CM.
  17. So haven't seen it mentioned, the club has the option for another year on Dacks deal. Good news to be fair.
  18. Me too. Maybe it's not as bad as we were told. Could be back sooner than a year, but the club don't want to put pressure on him.
  19. That's about the size of it. If Brereton does start scoring,I don't think any of us would be unhappy about it.
  20. In what way? I was saying that he isn't covering for the owners signing Brereton over his head. I think he did ok the signing.
  21. The young lads getting the same bad habits!
  22. Grabban and 1 of them lads would make a decent partnership
  23. Forest in for Glen Murray or Billy Sharpe. Imagine, a goalscorer. Can they play on the wing though? That's what I want to know!
  24. If he keeps scoring 7-8 goals plus a season at this level we will get at least 4 or 5 million for him. That's the way the market is. He's still young as well and his pace will always entice buyers. He frustrates me a lot, but we are certainly turning a profit on him.
  25. Just checked our fixtures there PNE (H) Sheffield Wednesday (A) QPR (H) Boro (A) Fulham (H) Hull (H) Hard to see where the points will come from after the PNE game. Need to be winning that. Would be doing well to get 6 points from the next 5 games.
