  1. In fairness to Brereton it does look like he is trying to get out of the way
  2. Because he hasn't been. He gets miles of leeway that others don't with regards playing poorly, but when it comes to naming best performers he can't make the cut. I think the leeway he gets is because he came though the youth team and also because he is a hard worker. His distribution has been poor this season and general positioning can also be questionable. I would definitely stick with him though. There is a player there.
  3. Ya, Dack is brilliant at it too. What game was it he got sent off for doing it? That was ridiculous I'm tellig ya, the 2 lads learnt that stuff slogging around in the lower leagues of mens football. It seems younger players are more pampered these days. Gallagher has mostly played under 23 football, with some loans to the Championship. Brereton mostly under age football. Dack was in the conference, League 2, Danny Graham division 3 at the time, League 1. That certainly stood to them. No way Dack would be the player he is if he came through somewhere like Southampton now.
  4. I wouldn't go that far. I mean it is hard to defend it overall when you look at the Brereton and Gallagher deals(Brereton in particular) , but allow me to do so. I think he has improved the squad and signed some exciting players in Holtby, Chapman and Rothwell. Along with some clever businessl ike Downing. Then there are signings that looked good on paper, like Johnson and Davenport, could perhaps add Holtby and Chapman in here. Tosin and Cunningham cute enough business too. The problem is how he utilities the squad. He doesn't make life easy for himself , or for us! Too many square pegs, chopping and changing too much (during games, not just between them) , dropping or not starting players who are in a bit of form, but then persevering with others that he favours to the point of it being illogical. I will stand by my opinion that I think he has improved the squad considerably.
  5. Indeed, but I'm just trying to find something g to grasp onto! Graham is a master at it. Regularly see him rolling in front of much bigger defenders and using his arse to hold them off. I agree its technique, but the lads dont have that anyway it's clear to see.
  6. Do ye know what I take from a lot of Mowbrays comments? It's that he is so suspicious and cautious of agents, that he almost rules out deals before being presented with them. It would explain why he goes back to players he knows so often. I'm no fan of agents myself, but that's how the football world goes round. You have to play the game.
  7. I presume that's similar to "soft shites" Lol
  8. Not sure if this has been mentioned ,but his quote about "not being able to find a cheap Bradley Dack" is absurd. Does he not remember how much Dack cost? Dack himself was a cheap Bradley Dack! Then the comments about Brentford like they are doing something magical. The recruitment is on him!!!
  9. You could be right I have been saying him and Brereton need to be in the gym lifting heavy shit. They have their height, so the least they could do is work hard on being big units.
  10. PLEASE REMOVE FROM THE BAGGAGE AREA. PLEASE REMOVE FROM THE BAGGAGE AREA We could do with something like that at the opposition goal. Where is that picture of the 3 amigos missing that chance against Birmingham? PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE GOALMOUTH PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE GOALMOUTH
  11. It depends doesn't it. I would say 26 for strikers, 28 for centre halves and 30 plus for keepers. Wingers then would be even younger. Although I have forgotten what one of them looks like.
  12. Comes across well in the interview on Youtube. Great when guys like him come back around the place. Reminds me of the good old days. Saw him score a great free-kick live. Pity it was when we lost 7-1 to Arsenal. He is definitely open to a move anyway going off the interview. To be honest I would have thought he retired around 4 years ago. Was surprised to see he was still playing. If it was American footballer rules where kickers can come on and off, I would take him, but then if that was the case I would still have Mulgrew here. After Santa Cruz and Bentley, I couldn't stomach seeing one of my favourites a shadow of their former self. To be honest, my recollection is he was past it near the end here, let alone, what, 6 years later.
  13. Sorry, I massively ruined that surprise so! The more I think about it, Steiner could be gold with the way the crowd interacts with the talent at the podium. Ha ha, I would imagine the difference with Ligers is that he is actually retiring!
  14. Good post, although I think you are being a bit generous with some here, but I wouldn't blame you-I would be inclined to do the same. Ultimately it falls to Gallagher and Brereton to get the goals and therein lies our problem. It will take a real stroke of luck/astuteness to sign someone on loan who will deliver what we need and I wouldn't be putting my eggs in the astuteness basket! Parallel universe Dack gets injured and we have £12 million to spend now. I think we can all agree we would be thinking that could be doable. As thing stands we don't have £12 million to spend, so I just don't know where the goals will come from.
  15. A lot of assists alright. Not sure about your point that teams are not willing to spend big on League 1 players. We got very lucky with Dack, if I recall correctly he was meant to move to Bristol city for £2.5 million before his "little" scandal. Then you have this list https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-one/transferrekorde/wettbewerb/GB3 Many players moving from League 1 for a lot more than £2.5 million and some a good while ago. I just feel if it was as straightforward with Maddision as the stats suggest, someone would have spent £2.5 million on him. It just doesn't add up to me.
  16. The guy has NEVER played more than 20 games in a season. Do you want a replacement for Gladwin in the treatment room?
  17. Because he's 35 and his legs are gone.
  18. Mowbray has struggled to get the defence right in almost 3 years now, I wouldn't hold my breath for it to happen this window. Can't see him replacing Walton either. We might sign a left back, but if we sign a centre half it will still be Lenihan and Tosin at the back. The biggest worry for me now is where will the goals come from. People need to start chipping in No, sure Gallagher would go there. If we got a good one in that would be great, but it's unlikely. More than likely a loan who Mowbray will be hesitant to put in for X, Y or Z reasons
  19. Ya, but we didn't win. We got 2 points from 12 since Dack was injured. No doubt it's an opportunity to step up alright, just nothing yet to suggest anyone, barring Armstrong will. Maybe if Mowbray settled on a team in a 4-4-2 formation and played that consistently we might have success, but I think we all know that won't happen/last. He can't help himself.
  20. Ya, a loan from Rangers wouldn't do it for me now.
  21. In fairness, Tosin has had as many bad games as good at this stage
  22. Fair play to you, but I think people are just being realistic. I haven't seen anything to suggest we can come top 6 without Dack. We might have had some chance with him.
  23. 2 from open play in the last 4 without Dack would suggest to me that we can't score enough to get near the play-offs. Hope I'm wrong though.
