  1. Lambert not a happy camper. This makes some reading. https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/paul-lambert-frustration-with-ipswich-town-transfer-business-1-6195500
  2. No, apparently not. It seems he was a crucial defender all last season. I just missed that completely.
  3. Thousands of them? ? Seems the 2 managers did though seeing as he played 36 games for them, out of position.
  4. If we had have been waiting all summer and then signed Bayliss and Green the day before tomorrows game, there would been massive disappointment and fans saying they are underwhelmed. God almighty they signed Bayliss off Coventry for heavens sake ? Did green even start a game for Villa last year? He started very few anyway. Severe cases off grassisgreeneritis with some fans
  5. The player and Mowbary have both said he won't be playing right back. Have you seen these quotes? Been on here a few times. they are easy to find. Not sure what you mean with the CB part. Is that not where he should be considered for? Going off the quotes from Mowbray and the lad, again easy to find, he is here to start, not be cover.
  6. He has played for them 7 times in the Champions league. Does that not count? Ya, he must be rubbish. Pep is always keeping bad players around just for the fun of it. Have you read Peps quotes about him? They have been on here a few times. In the context of Peps opinion on the lad, your quote above is silly. Anyway, we will find out soon enough who is right, your mate or Pep
  7. That 2 month run killed us. If we got 15 points out of 33 , instead of 4 out of 33, we would have been right there in play-off contention. It's not a huge gap. We obviously weren't good enough over the season though. We need to be able to absorb inevitable injuries better.
  8. Walton Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Downing Travis Johnson Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham/Brereton That would be my team. I think it's pretty attacking. Not sure about Downing left-back, but if there was a game where it should work, it is this one. I can't decide between Graham and Brereton. I think the worse case scenario would be something like this. Walton Bennett Lenihan Mulgrew Downing Evans Johnson Armstrong Dack Gallagher Graham/Brereton Roll on 2pm tomorrow....I will be refreshing Instagram to see those jerseys hanging in the dressing room!
  9. So it was idle. Well, he can't really complain about that. I think we have upgraded our number 9 for sure.
  10. It is fans voting. I could up vote us all day if I wanted. It is nothing to do with anyone at Skys opinion.
  11. Who was number 9 last season, or has it been idle for a while? Big, big boots to fill with that number.
  12. I don't think it's that. We gave every team a game last season. Bet many of those in the top 6 and should have gotten more points off them. There was a shaky nervousness about us at times. I'm not blaming Raya completely, but I think his decision making and command of the box didn't fill the rest of the team with confidence. Particular when holding a lead and under the kosh.
  13. Ya, I think we all knew it. What is that about? It seems like since we have been relegated there is some force field around the top 6 that when we get near it, bad things happen. That is my big concern about the team, getting games over the line where a win would put us in the top 6. I hope having the likes of Downing and Johnson around will help.
  14. Watched him vs Junkyard dog a few months back. I don't know how he didn't die during that match. He took one fall to the outside on his head that was just brutal. Seemed like a tough guy in real life.
  15. Didn't our collapse last season happened immediately after Nixon tipped us?
  16. At least 10 goals? I find that hard to believe. Just makes me think, why did West brom have to play a young loan player out of position if he was struggling that badly? If he was that bad, Pep wouldn't be keeping him around. I think it is really that simple.
  17. Hopefully a clean sheet now to kick things off tomorrow. Would be great. Although I know some would like if we win, but concede as well, just so there is a validation of their non-stop criticism of the manager, Mulgrew and the defence. Of course this will be denied now, but I think we all know it is true Obviously after last season some criticism is normal, but the nit picking and focusing on negatives has gone over the top. We have made good signings. Our defensive record at home was good last year. We have signed another centre half. Mulgrew knows he needs to step up his game. I wonder even if he does play well, will that be recognised? Probably not. More likely every goal we concede with him playing will somehow be his fault. It's not all doom and gloom. I think it's going to be the best season since we went down." Finally, yes, I wish we had a new centre back in beside Lenihan tomorrow too! I am not trying to wind anyone up by saying the above, it's just my opinion. We all know what people say about them!
  18. Sorry, I missed. I am just genuinely interested in what you think he does better than Brereton.
  19. Why were my posts deleted? A number of posters had liked the comments. I didn't insult anyone. Just gave my opinion. This is nonsense. It took me time to write them and now they are just removed without explanation? Could they please be put back up or an explanation given as to why they were removed. Thanks.
  20. On Nuttall, some players have to be sold. The squad is too big. More will leave before the deadline. To make out that it's Mowbrays fault for him not developing here is bullshit. He signed him and gave him plenty of chances. Literally got his professional career back on track. Hopefully he does well at Blackpool, but I don't think he will ever be a double figures championship striker.
  21. He really hasn't. Brereton looks a far better dribbler, is quicker and has shown better fininishes. What exactly has Nuttall shown that he is better at in your opinion?
  22. Webster off to Brighton for 22 million. So that's the going rate for a good championship centre half it seems. I wouldn't rule out them coming in for Lenihan. 6-7 million could tempt some. Would be a reasonably cheap, experienced replacement for them. Hopefully not...
  23. As he is the one starting Saturday, I think everyone hopes his performances have improved. That's the reason for concern.
