  1. Tosin said in his interview that after speaking to the manager he wanted to come here. Said they manager wants to get into the play offs. He added then that he is here to play every week. Debunks a few conspiracies with those comments. Namely the one that Mowbray doesn't want to put too much pressure on by saying he wants to get promoted. Even though he has said numerous times this is the aim, some fans just can't seem to acknowledge this. Odd.
  2. Sharpe just tweeted that a loan fee was involved for Tosin and hopefully another centre half will join by tomorrow week. That would be a pretty class window.
  3. Well if he is as good as Duff we will get around £30 million for him, so happy days,.
  4. Guardiola: "Tosin has a lot of steps to get him better. It’s not done, but he has all the quality. He is fast, strong in the air, and has the quality to look forward behind the line for the next pass. He definitely has a future in the first team. He is a nice guy, his mind is open, he listens, he trains every day like it’s the last training of his life and I like to work with these kinds of players a lot. He has his whole career ahead of him. He doesn’t have to defend anything, saying; ‘I did that, I was this, I won this’. Against true, tough teams - Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich - he played very well. He has a lot of things to improve and I hope we can help him to develop his skills.
  5. I firmly believe you don't get kept around and that close to the Man city first team unless you have something about you. I was watching about their academy a few months ago, they had around 200 players at each level, under 12s, 14s, 16s and they were all trying to get kept on. He was playing for the under 18s at 14 and captain art 16. To even make it to City is impressive, but to do it like that suggests there is something about him. The step up to the senior game is a big one and I do think that young lads at the big clubs don't get a real idea of football til they get out on loan to the lower leagues. The fact he was out last season alleviates some of those concerns. Time will tell though.
  6. Ya and that's what I think it will be. Either that or Buckley will miss out. I can't see anyone else being left out of the squad.
  7. Says a lot about our manager? Would ya stop. He played 14 games for us and scored 1 goal He played 15 games for Bristol and scored 2 Mostly from the bench in both cases.
  8. Not yet and I don't think he would make the squad at this point without having trained. Who do you drop from the bench then though? I know a lot will say Evans, but can't see that personally.
  9. Sharpes predicted team. Walton, Bennett, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Bell, Travis, Johnson, Armstrong, Dack, Rothwell, Graham Subs- Leutwiler, Nyambe, Evans, Buckley, Downing, Gallagher, Brereton Personally would have Nyambe in, but would be pretty happy with that otherwise. Strong bench.
  10. Just shows the money to be made from bringing good young lads through.
  11. I see Adam Webster is linked with a 25 million move to Brighton. I had literally never heard of him. Checked him out then. Bristol signed him for 4 million, rising to 8 million. I completely missed that they were spending that kind of cash. I knew they signed a striker for 5 million, but I thought that was a once off.
  12. David Bates would be an ideal signing. Be happy with that one.
  13. Ya, it will be very disappointing if he doesn't start. He couldn't have done much more when given his opportunity. It is difficult to pick the front 4 . Some gonna be disappointed. I think the only guaranteed starter is Dack. Maybe Graham, but I wouldn't be as sure as I am with Dack. So 2 then from ;Brereton, Gallagher, Armstrong and Rothwell you would imagine. I think it will be Armstrong Dack Rothwell Brereton Rothwell said the other day he favours coming in off the left.
  14. Did you not learn after you clunky comparison between De Light and Wharton? Messi would get game time because he is the best player in the world. The players within our budget aren't the best players in the world and therefore should not be guaranteed game time. I am sure we are targeting players to improve the team, hence why it's not straight forward signing them as other clubs want them or their parent clubs don't want to sell. Again, they should not be guaranteed game time.
  15. It is pretty simple. Why should we guarantee a player game time? That just means no matter how he performs, he will get a certain number of games. If they are too good to leave out, fair play to them. Everybody wins.
  16. I will never forget the Spain game in the 2002 world cup. We threw it away missing a penalty in extra time, but Duff was unplayable. He led their defenders on dances up, down and across the pitch. I think the highlights are on Youtube. Worth a watch if you are a Duff fan.
  17. No, I said that my opinion is we agreed how much he would play, but City had other clubs come in after this promising more game time. All guess work. Hopefully it gets done!
  18. Duff was world class in my opinion. Buckley has a way to go. Hopefully gets there or thereabouts though.
  19. Certainly. Mulgrew as well. It seems it's mostly fitness and ball work that is led by the club and the players do their own conditioning. There should be more impetus on it. I don't buy this stuff that it well make players slower or less agile personally.
  20. Seems fair enough to me. Wharton always looked pretty skinny for a centre half. The fact he could barely get a game in League 1 last season would suggest other managers feel the same.
  21. Ya, it's the exact same ? Would you stop. De Ligt is a prodigy, an absolute revelation. He has just moved to Juventus for over £80 million ,wheras Wharton couldn't barely get a game at Lincoln city or Bury last season.
