I have no problem him replacing Mulgrew after working with the squad. I was probably Mulgrews biggest critic before others even acknowledged how poor his form was. Just not a day or two after signing on loan having not worked with the team or coaches

No, that's not what I said at all. I said you shouldn't land a guy you signed on loan 2 days previously into a starting 11 unless you absolutely must. The defense have been working together all summer, they have played together. Also, when Mulgrew lost his place, he lost it to Williams. Who is now injured. If he wasn't, he would be starting.

It isn't the same though as there is a new goalkeeper. Ideally we would have gotten the City guy in earlier so he could have trained properly and staked a claim for a starting place. Suggesting we just drop Mulgrew for Saturdays game and criticizing Mowbray for not doing so is stupid.

I would imagine he will be going all out for that. He knows his standards dropped last season. I would imagine his personal pride will mean he gives it a right go. He's not just some journeyman. He is a guy who was won many trophies and is former international captain. I wouldn't write the big man off. Signing another centre half to take some pressure off could do him the world of good. Well at this stage it would be crazy to drop the club captain for a guy we signed on loan 2 days before the game. Ya, mixed alright. Apparently he started well in the middle, but not great at right back. I suppose Vincent Kompany might struggle at right back. It's a very different role. Some WBA fans said he was a far better centre half than Kyle Bartley.
