  1. Fecked if I know what team he will pick. Will be a close one, probably a dignified and annoying defeat 2-1 Fulham
  2. Watched the goals again. Walton should definitely have done better with the 2nd. Very, very soft one. We looked disorganised and the players unsure of their roles. Inexcusable for a team mostly made up of players who have played together many times before, with one of the longest serving managers in the division.
  3. Bit premature this thread, but I will say if we don't sign defenders and are around the relegation zone at the end of the month, he should be under pressure because he clearly stated the defence wasn't good enough and that defenders were coming.
  4. I think this as well. Lenihan said in an interview earlier in the summer that we need some signings to compete. Mowbray has said Dack will leave if we don't match his ambitions. They obviously both see that the defence is shite and that the manager is either refusing to see it, is in denial or is afraid to upset certain players. I am sure that they know Rothwell should be paying too. The reactions when he scored showed the players knew he has something special. Some of them, Bennett included even commented on how good he is afterwards on social media. I bet there was some confusion in the dressing room with the team selection. You could see it on the field. The good players want the manager to play other good players. It's that simple.
  5. Dack was supposed to be doing that, but wasn't. Buckley for Dack, Brereton for Armstrong and Graham for Gallagher would have been my subs. I would actually add Armstrong to the category of players that Mowbray blindly loves. I think he is one dimensional and lazy. He's either on it, or he's not. When he is on it, he is good, but there is no in between. He is on it about 1 game in every 10.
  6. I think it was the wrong time to bring him in. The logical sub was Brereton. I reckon Mowbray is pissing some players off. I always thought his man management was his strength , but let's see now who would be pissed off Nyambe, Lenihan(because he has to keep playing with Mulgrew), Bennett(possibly, due to being played out of position although maybe he knows he is lucky to be playing), Rothwell(where to begin. He must be disgusted), Brereton (why did we sign him if he couldn't even get a game yesterday, a year later). I have a bad feeling things could get very unsettled in the camp if Mowbray doesn't do what he said he would do. Namely get fucking defenders in and secondly play people in position and on merit. I'm not Mowbray out yet, but a huge month coming up. Hard to see where the points will come from with that defence. Still, we have it in us to pull performances out of the bag when it's least expected. Just like we have the ability to be shite when least expected. Not easy following this club!
  7. We do alright, but these are experienced pros who have made it this far in their careers, I would expect them to know how to organis things themselves and defend. Defending is simple, yet we can't do it well. It's recruitment and playing people out of position or past their sell by date. Either way, it's on the manager now. The Gallagher out wide thing is going to drive me mad. How he can start there ahead of Rothwell is completely beyond me. I don't mind Downing starting. I think he's a good footballer. Armstrong could have started up front yesterday, with Rothwell in his place. He got the selection so, so wrong.
  8. The thing is if another manager came in now, the main thing they would change is the defence. Its clearly the problem, but the manager has now backtracked on his comments from last year and it had cost us 3 home points. Long season, but those 3 points could come in handy. Charlton were pretty crap, but rather than play Rothwell or our 6 million pound striker, who had a full year to settle in and a good pre-season, he starts Gallagher who has barely played with the lads and didn't score in pre-season. Why shoudk Gallagher start straight away, but Brereton had to wait a season plus?
  9. Agreed, for sure, but he seems to have a worrying blind spot for reverse reasons with regatds Bennett at right back and Rothwell starting. The Rothwell stuff is what is really annoying me, followed by not even giving Brereton a run yesterday. How can he not start Rothwell after what we saw of him last season? Then the treatment of Brereton is one thing, but the fact now is we spent £6 million on him, gave him a year to settle in, he hs a good pre-season and he still doesn't play him. Buckley came on, which is great, but why spend that money on Brereton with the defence as it is? It's worrying.
  10. In for Max Clarke, ex Hull, according to Nixon. A left back. Why can't we just sign another centre half, even on loan would do. Just a proper one.
  11. I don't think Bennett is that technically better than Nyambe though. I can understand Downing playing left back instead of bell, because he is undoubtedly technically superior. Mowbray has Bennett in becuase he likes him and sees something in him a lot of people don't. He is killing Bennett by playing him there. Case in point, one of the most liked players is now fighting with fans on twitter on the opening day. It's so avoidable.
  12. I know, for sure, but all Bennett did is just draw attention to it. The guy had one like before that. He should let his football do the talking.
  13. Ya, he's coming across very badly. It's bad form. I wonder if one of the young lads was on twitter fighting with fans what would Mowbray do. Seems different rules for different players. No, they are pretty harmless tweets to be fair. The only response he should be giving is "ya, I did play shite and I'm going strive to do better". What he is doing is very childish.
  14. OK Bennett is calling loads of fans out on Twitter. Accusing lads of "trolling" when they aren't actually trolling, just stating the facts. He had an awful game. Not a good look for Benno.
  15. It was gas because the guy he pulled up replied "sorry Benno, I just think Nyambe is a better right back" Don't we all
  16. Bennett searching for his name on twitter it seems. Has pulled a few fans up who were saying he is shite. Coming accross like a bit of a b***h to be honest. He's just saying stuff like "thanks for the positivity". Like obviously the best thing would be to ignore them, but if he really wants to engage, I would expect something a bit more manly than "thanks for the positivity" followed by the thumbs up emoji. I think another manager would have shipped him and Mulgrew out this summer. Absolutely no chance they would have started under someone like Warnock
  17. It's crazy. Why doesn't he play Graham there? What's the reason like. I mean Gallagher there is just as bizzare in my opinion. But there is obviously some reason why he won't play graham there...
  18. And I do have to add, why is he putting Gallagher on the wing again? The guy is a 6 foot 5 striker. It's like putting Peter Crouch there Madness
  19. Mulgrew is the main issue. He isn't a great captain. Not vocal, I never see him getting angry. The captain should be dishing out bollockings when things go badly, he drops his head. Lenihan is worse playing with him. It's actually ridiculous that he is still captain and starting games. What is Mowbray playing at? I really believed this talk of "new beginnings for every player and that those who perform will get in on merit." Brereton should have started ahead of Gallagher of that is the case. I just don't understand why we signed him if having a good pre season doesn't get him a game A BLOODY SEASON LATER, what's it about?? It looks very apparent that we don't need him and Gallagher. We need proper defenders. If we don't sign at least 1, then Mowbray must either be thick or is toeing some venky red line. Either way, it's bollox. To be 100% honest after seeing the team he picked today, Im starting to think he might be a bit thick.
  20. I don't think I'm going to be able to forgive Mowbray for starting Bennett and not starting Rothwell So unecessery
  21. If he starts Bennett next game he deserves the sack and I couldn't defend him anymore. Rothwell should be in instead of Armstrong too. Also what is the story with Brereton? I thought this was his break out year. Yet Gallagher comes straight in a head of him. It's stupid. Stupid stupid stupid
  22. All this talk of "fresh starts and every player starting from scratch" obviously bullshit. Nyambe goes away playing African Cup of nations. Great experience to bring back. Oh wait no, let's start Bennett there
  23. Awful, awful stuff. Johnson must be wondering what he has signed up for. Seems the lads got carried away after an OK pre- season. That and Mowbrays ludicrous team selection and substitutions. Not happy with this at all.
