  1. I'm going to 4 it 5 nil to be honest. We are a great team when the pressure is off.
  2. Ya, villa unreal. Weren't we ahead of them at the end of January? Amazing what can happen when you identify weaknesses and sign quality. They needed a centre half so when out and got Mings. He has been a rock for them. Grealish coming back a huge catalyst too. I hope they don't go up though, unless they end up playing Leeds in the final.
  3. Well, decent is the word, but we need someone to do a great or even very good job. Happily plodding along in midtable and pretending everything is fine only enables the owners and their disfunctional method of running a club. To do a good or great job would require someone telling them in no uncertain terms that they need to make decisions quicker. This is why we end up signing random players on deadline day. I don't blame Mowbray really, I mean the season we went down he was on the ball. The thing was we had money due to players leaving so wheeling and dealing was straightforward. Plus we were Blackburn rovers in league 1. This is why we struggle in the championship all things being equal with other clubs. There is a reason why we have never really even been in the play off places since being relegated. (I'm ignoring under Kean cos it outrageous he was still in the job)
  4. If he must go over, he should be over during the last international break, last week when we knew we were staying up or literally anytime before the end of the season. He probably won't get an audience until two weeks after the season ends. It's all very frustrating and I think it should be a concern to even the most optimistic of fans. It's a ambition meter that the manager must gauge on a rolling basis. They obviously still just don't understand how football works. I would expect now that we have a CEO, there wouldn't be a need for this nonsense.
  5. Ya, I just find it bizarre that he needs to go there to know their "ambition" I think it's a bit worrying that he is publicly saying this too I mean should Waggott, at least, not know their ambition for next season? Are we back to the A list to Z list scouting system, depending on how much pennies venkys decide to release? It would clearly make more sense to know this and only scout the players in our bloody budget I like Mowbray and I believe managers should be given time which makes the fact he still needs to go over there to find out what they are thinking and how much they will support him disappointing
  6. Quotes from Mowbray in the LT saying he is going to India after the last game of the season to see what the owners "ambitions" are for the club So we are where we always are. Playing catch up to the prepared teams whose owners have a long term vision clearly laid out. We have known we will be in this division for over a week now. Why does he have to wait until the end of the season to seek clarity on their ambitions? It's all very frustrating
  7. Sorry if you explicitly said that in the post, I must have missed it. Was multi tasking I find it easier to miss stuff in the match thread when posts are coming thick and fast
  8. To put their hands up ossyian. You posited the question, ye you already knew the answer yourself. A second away win in a row is a great platform going into the last 3 games. That vindicates today's team selection for me
  9. If he brought them in and we got spanked you would say that it's Mowbrays fault for bringing them into a struggling team. I wanted more young players to play but an away win with goals from Graham and Dack is very satisfying. If we continue and win the next couple we could finish top half. It will make the table nicer to look at. It's also easier then to give the players the confidence to push on towards the play offs next season. 12th it's like top half lads, not too far from the plays offs". I hope at home on Monday he makes some changes ; Rodwell centre midfield, Brereton instead of Armstrong or Rothwell. Maybe 10 minutes at the end for Buckley or Butterworth just to let them know they are part of his plans. I think Rodwell played centre mid against them earlier in the season when we won. Wasn't it the last game against them when he made the most wholesale changes between games all season? He could literally do anything though, I couldn't predict what team will play. It could even be the same as today knowing him ?
  10. I think he away win vindicates Mowbrays team selection. Honest question, can those who wanted more youngsters to start hold their hands up and say they wouldn't have critisiced Mowbray in some form if we lost? I wanted a different team, but if we lost I wouldn't be happy. Now I am
  11. Fair play to him for taking the opportunity. I said it earlier in the season and I read quotes from Mowbray in the LT saying the same yesterday, Lenihan leads when Mulgrew isn't there I played centre half myself, if an older more experienced player is with you you kind of have to let them lead the calls etc. It ia certainly to Lenihan and our detriment when Mulgrew plays. Sad, but true
  12. Rave reviews for the Lenihan Williams partnership online.
  13. Valid observation. Perhaps his passion has dwindled after what went on in his career. Undoubted quality though. I would like to see him start before the end of the season. Earn a contract here. Show us gratitude for welcoming him in. I would imagine he probably believes he should have played more, but the reality is he has to earn it. We critisice Mowbray for how he treats some players, but maybe he has handled Rodwell just right. Being a bit part player this year is probably the best he could have hoped for. If we sign him I would expect a lot next season. He has age on his side.
  14. I think it is promising that Rodwell was brought on midfield today. Rodwell > Smallwood Rodwell and Travis next game please
  15. Yep, for sure. But will Tony do what's necessary? Lenihan needs to be captain. Is it possible to make that change without Mulgrew leaving? Well obviously it's possible but it would/could raise a few eyebrows. It would mean that Bennett wouldn't have to be shoe horned in them just to be captain in Mulgrews absence
  16. I just asked who would you drop. Pretty straight forward question and I don't see how it makes us sound like those teams.
