  1. Just looking at the stats there about who was involved in the most goals (goals and assists) since Mowbray took over. It's on twitter. I will tell ye something for nothing, he hit the jackpot signing Dack. I just wonder where we would be if we never signed him.
  2. I can't see anyone correctly guessing our team for this weekend. I can see Tony going full Mowbray. Hopefully it's one of the times it works.
  3. If in isolation, yes, but I don't think he just saw a player play against him once then okayed the signing. There must haven been additional research done. It seems to me that he does like to sign players who either played well against his team or who he manged, no denying that, but it seems some fans are just adamant that he sees a player play against him once and then signs them. I doubt that is the case, particularity with BB. It would completely go against his (frustratingly at times) conservative nature.
  4. Not making excuses for Mowbray , but I just wonder does managing this club mean that the manager may have to always contradict themselves until the get things the way they/the fans want? The owners are still clueless idiots, they have just managed (luckily) to hire a manager and team around him that is getting back somewhere(albeit still miles away) from where we were at when they bought the club. They could be telling him one thing one day and then it's off the agenda the next.
  5. Ya, it will be great alright...
  6. They do, but if fans had their way Johnson would have been sacked the season we went down and Farke would have been sacked last season.
  7. As is my point that he didn't sign him just because he played well against him once.
  8. Well if we sell him we will have to replace him as well, so we would be even further from the top 6. He has an x-factor that is practically impossible to replace. It's not all about money. Bristol city, Sheffield united and Norwich haven't spent obscene amounts of money and they are the 3 best teams I have seen us play this season. The you have the likes of Nottingham forest and Villa who have spent lots and are no better off than us.
  9. No, the obvious and best option is strengthen without cashing in on Dack.
  10. How do you know what he is talking about? I am sure he watched clips as well as seeing him live before spending the money. But of course because Mowbray said BB played well against his team the narrative on here has now become "Mowbray signed him after he played well against his team once". One of the most conservative managers tactically, personnel wise and transfer wise just went against everything we know of him and splashed 7 million on someone he saw play once. It doesn't really add up
  11. Yet were you not the one saying those who watch players live know/see more than those who watch on tv?
  12. They did all win something pretty much, so they get most appointments correct in one way or another. Huge amounts of outlay on players also helps! Also, in fairness, Leeds did end up in League 1 too. Ya, I agree about the over reliance on the manager. Hopefully that lifts a bit with the new SMT. Although as you say, currently we aren't anywhere near ready for that. Mowbray leaving would probably end up disastrously for us one way or another. Totally agree on the line about Allardyce. You can pinpoint our descent/decline straight to the day he was sacked.
  13. Plenty of those Chelsea managers didn't work out and Leeds have achieved nothing yet after years of turmoil. Changing managers regularly is part of the modern game, but it's something that happens too much. Obviously there are extremes like what happened here with kean and I think that has effected rovers fans. Giving managers time is generally a good idea IF they have shown enough to suggest that they will be a long term success. I would include how they changed things off the field in that. Look at the example of Bristol City. They stuck with their manager and are flying it. I would say that's even more impressive than what the sky darlings Leeds are doing right now. Sheffield United have given wilder time. Possibly the best example of all is the Norwich manager. Plenty of their fans wanted him gone last season and look at them now. In fact I reckon the 3 promoted teams will be Norwich, Sheffield United and Bristol City.
  14. https://www.the42.ie/sala-tragedy-legal-wrangle-4503673-Feb2019/ Cardiff have also reportedly questioned Willie McKay’s practice of trying to inflate transfer fees by fabricating interest in players from clubs. “It was us who put in the media about other clubs wanting you — West Ham, Everton etc — to create an interest on you that’s what we do,” Willie McKay wrote in a letter to Sala that has now been made public.
  15. Birmingham didn't look anything special when I watched them earlier in the season, but we still managed to spectacularly capitulate as only we can. As for Saturday, who knows? Could easily be a meek defeat the way things are going
  16. Good point and really, the earlier the better seems to make complete logical sense with no downside
  17. I meant the first. If you get a cheap enough season ticket, you are always likely to rock up for a game. I have an Ireland season ticket. A lot of what I have watched over the last 2 years has been really quite awful, but because I have the ticket, I will go 99% of the time for fear of my money being wasted.
  18. They are more likely to turn up than someone who doesn't have a season ticket
  19. Spending 7 million on a player who doesn't play should not happen next summer. In fact I would like our biggest outlay to be on a centre half, who starts!!!!!
  20. Would we get away with dropping the price to 200 this summer and branding it as the "Mowbray revolution"? The "Mowbray slow build with lingering question marks over the defence" doesn't quite have the same ring to it
  21. Ya, true. Once you sell a season ticket, the person is always likely to turn up on a Saturday
  22. That would be very reasonable, I just wonder what would happen if it didn't have the desired affect and there wasn't a huge increase. I would say that maybe the people just aren't there one way or another, but then I think back to the Oxford game. I just wonder if 200 pound tickets and a 20,000 seater stadium would lead to a much better atmosphere.
  23. If it was a tenner a ticket every week, how big a crowd would we get?
  24. Ya, Roberston doesn't have many nights like last night. Tough day at the office for him for sure
