Perhaps in the future there will be an 'Evening with Rudy' where he explains how to clear out a squad, reduce budgets, transform a potential promotion side to a side just above relegation and instill a culture of fear with the minimum of experience and know-how.- 4565 replies

Think we've all got the message from the 'aligned' wherever they may be: loans are now acceptable situation is nothing to do with us, just injuries it's the fault of the EFL/Premier League etc for having too many teams and too many games -
Eloquent but ineffective imo. First, how do you deal with a regime that cruelly threatens violence to fans, petulantly resists all forms of protest, pays lip service to rules regarding fan representation, is essentially absent and has no hesitation in peddling lies in the media to control the narrative? Second, it would be nice to seek a broad base of protest and somehow get the majority on board as you say. But after 15 years and monumental efforts by some, if the fan base is so apathetic and willing to cover their eyes and ears and sing ‘la, la, la,’ then surely nothing will change their minds. As I mentioned in a previous post elsewhere –such fans are like the black knight clinging to their beliefs and routines even though savagely cut and effectively dying.

Szmodics and Rothwell? Hilarious. Put yourself in their shoes. It would be 'any other club other than that dysfunctional set up.' What you've got to hope is that there are some naive or desperate newbies out there who don't know the full story here. 😉 -

"The season is not over in October, it is over in May so we have a lot of time to adjust everything," he said. Was always going to be the approach. I remember asking on the transfer thread over the summer how long you would have to give the new 'alignment' before you could judge. Ranged from 10 games to end of season. And if it is relegation or just avoiding the drop it will be 'give it until the new season for players to bed in'..... -

Further to my post above on dealing with high intensity/pressing/physical teams, I'm reminded of how we played Leeds away last year. I don't think this side could do that. -

Pasha? Or do you mean that nobody has anything to worry about? I didn't really understand Eddie's graphic. Nice to see he is still around.

I think the pitch will be a factor (not that it should be used as an excuse for us –as has been pointed out, we all know the nonsense that has led us to where we are). But I think we do struggle on a difficult surface. I thought Wrexham were fitter, stronger and more coherent as a team and dealt with bobbly pitch far better than us. They looked like a side that had worked hard to get where they are and had self-belief. I also think (again shouldn’t be used as an excuse) that we don’t deal well with high pressure, high intensity, physical football. If you link that with some dreadful body language and players knowing they are going to be sold or want away from a train wreck, then the ingredients aren’t great for success. Cue a win tomorrow. 🙂 -
