Disagree. Bristol were dreadbul first half - so scared of conceding - and allowed us to play in their half so easily - and we took advantage well (and agree, we should have scored more.) The defending to allow Albeiousu to get in to set up a goad was really poor (but full credit to Ryan). We didn't sit back second half - they forced us back by being far more aggressive (half time team talk?) but agree we dealt with it really well (just like Derby today) and was really pleased with no-nonsense defending. -

Yes, surprise nobody has commented on this. Embarrassing. To be fair, think it was the refs fault not the clubs. (For a change). -

No he isn't. He is a workmanlike footballer who can do us a job and has scored a few great goals. -

What a load of nonsense. Do you think they care? They won and they didn't just hoof it long and high just like big Sam wasn't all ugly football. They played at times, got their goals and then sat deep to let us huff and puff to no effect. Eustace kept us in this league and does what he has to. -

So short sighted Rev. Derby defend far far better than Bristol. We were allowed to play first half against Bristol and took full advantage. Derby are well drilled and made life very difficult -doulbed up on de Neve and Albeiousu. 5 across the back, 3 in front of that and no space to play in. Got their goals, and just sat in, worked extremely hard to nullify us. You have to have special players or sheer physicality to open up a side like that. Also, Bristol played far better in the second half, pressed us more and did not allow us to play as well as the first half. -

Simply because Bristol have upped their effort, pressed more and made life more difficult. -

Laid on a beautiful through ball for Gud who was far too slow and thus got his yellow. Ref has been fine. Wharton diving header at knee height so gets a kick in the head. -

v Leicester City (a) - 1/11/25

Excellent win –well done lads. Ohashi was excellent throughout, holding up the ball and stopping them developing play high up the pitch (would love him to score). Gud seems a sniffer in the box so cannot focus too much on other aspects of his game if he is scoring. De Neve (shedloads of criticism on here of late) was very good first half. Toth wonderful, kept us in it. Thought we were very good for the last 30 mins and Leicester were dire offering nothing. We may not always have the quality but there was clear desire (cf. Miller’s reaction at the end) whilst Leicester had nothing. Ref had a good game - McLoughlin thinks so 😉 Foot off the gas for the next away game to go full blooded for the Derby game? -

That was the other thing that was very noticable for me against Sheffield. When we were losing and not looking like scoring the camera showed a few shots of VI (looking lost) and the bench behind him. Whitehead and Benson were furiously scribbling notes, glassy eyed and silent. -

Rev, I wasn't really interested in the relative abilities of Trav v Tron. My point was that the poor pass Tron played last night is indicative of his mood (not his ability) and a perfect metaphor for the shambles that is VI's management and the nonsense occurring above him. For even more clarity:- We both agree on the centrality of Trav. We will never agree on the ability of Tron. And on your point about Tron looking average now Trav has left is a weak argument. As you know well I'm sure, playing is about partnerships. They complemented each other well. Imagine if Trav had remained here (with all the cack going on around him) and Tron gone -I suspect Trav's body language would have been poor given all the nonsense going on and playing alongside what we have now.
