  1. After a sluggish start where we looked scared of their bigger players, I was really pleased with Rovers today. For the majority of the match we were in control, the better side and the new lads look exciting. Graham was unlucky, after winning his wrestling matches he found himself shut down by the keeper both times. Lots of positives, not many negatives.
  2. He'd be just fine. I can't think of any more supportive and patient fans than you get down at Ewood.
  3. Am I reading this correctly? People still believe a word Nixon says or writes?
  4. They should have those 'Ghostbusters type men who walk around like at gigs. They would pay for themselves 100x over.
  5. TM absence from the press conference is probably due to making preparations for tomorrow's game. He'll be having to draw the lines through for the kiosks and squirting the locks with WD-40.
  6. I'd rather we loaned experience. Some decent players at Wolves, Everton and Fulham etc. must be getting pushed out with all their recent acquisitions.
  7. Is this window so far our biggest net spend since the season we bought Rhodes? I estimate we've spent about £2.5m on the permanent signings and brought in nothing via player sales.
  8. So far, the transfer window ranks as a 5/10 for me. I think there's time to scrape it up to 7/10 with an excellent loan or two. The BRFCS transfer thread itself was a solid 10/10. I have loved reading that this summer and watching the fretting, giddiness and bickering over players who I don't mind admitting, I didn't have a clue who 95% of them linked were but as soon as they signed elsewhere, they became world beaters. RIP transfer thread.
  9. The main positive from us not signing anyone today is that we can keep our imaginary money to pretend to spend big in January.
  10. It certainly does seem a lot of money. I personally don't believe it.
  11. Multi-quote sighted. Release the Kraken!!!
  12. At the sound of the fifth chime and after the next Chaddy multi-quote...only then may battle commence. Happy Clappers versus Doom Mongers. Optimists vs. Pessimists. Positive fans vs. Negative Annie's. In Mowbray we trust vs. those who state he's just been Mowbrainwashing the lot of us..an online war of words and opinions shrouded as facts to end all wars. Some of you will be sin-binned. The not so lucky amongst you might gets bans but stand up and be counted. Keyboards at the ready. ...oh and no nipping.
  13. It'll be nonsense or the £5m deal will include five years of his wages. It sounds like kidology again.
  14. Unfortunately, once of a time it would have been odd if someone chose to go to the likes of Middlesbrough, Huddersfield, Brighton - even really big clubs like Leeds, Everton and Aston Villa, above Rovers. We are way down the pecking order for players choices now.
  15. Henning Berg and Alan Mahon came on loan and then signed permanent deals. So did David Bentley. Eyal Berkovic was a fantastic loan signing for the club, a well sourced final piece of the promotion jigsaw. I might be wrong but I think Brad Friedel was initially a loanee too. All played for clubs in higher positions than we were in. Personally, I like quality loanees much better than last minute permanent panic buys.
  16. Messageboard Armageddon in t minus 60 minutes.
  17. Someone needs to post some pictures of Travis' bird sharpish. It's about to go off on here.
  18. I reckon he's the one Mowbray thought was coming here.
  19. That matches what I feel. At the very least a striker will be brought in on loan, no doubt about it. I'm happy with the signings of Palmer and Armstrong, that gives us pace and an attacking threat. I don't know anything about the other two we've signed. This transfer window is an odd and daft idea, lots of business will still be done before the end of the month.
  20. I've just been overtaken by Danny Graham southbound on the A61. Harry Chapman was in the back sipping on a medium vanilla latte and Rudy Gestede was riding shotgun eating some overpriced flapjack.
