  1. I'm absolutely sick of this weak-minded approach from our players. I've lost count of how many times we switch off when in front or throw away leads in the last 15mins (or 5mins!) Thanks for getting us out of League One.... but bring on the cull.
  2. Like many, Gestede had his best years at Ewood. He isn't the answer to what we need.
  3. Rubbish that. Threw it away and should have scored more than one. Armstrong was crap when he came on and Evans useless in front of goal.
  4. Each time we've been promoted out of this league, we've added an old and wise centre back. Moran been mentioned but Berg was a massive player for us, as was Sparky higher up the field (signed a week shy of his 37th birthday). The attitude and drive of the player is key though. Come for the challenge, not the money.
  5. Do they sell the blue training top that the players walk out wearing? The one with Rovers on the back.
  6. Downing reminds me a lot of Craig Short. Simple and steady, no nonsense and can drive on 15yards.
  7. It's way too easy to downplay an excellent Rovers performance. We were excellent today. Back to that Rovers we all love.
  8. Loved it today. Wherever Conway's legs had gone, they have come back. Absolutely outstanding and he could have gone on another half hour. Well done Rovers. It wouldn't have been unfair if it was 4 or 5 nil.
  9. True, but even he had no idea where his goals were when the ball was crossed.
  10. Terrible performance. Made worse by a shocking commentary and unbelievably crap banter on Sky red button.
  11. At the very least, he'd be good company for Gladwin in the Vince Grella suite.
  12. I wish we'd get the likes of the ex-players on your list back to Ewood. Rovers have unbelievably crap connections with former players/managers and seem disassociated from a chunk of our history. I used to like it when ex players did the draw at half time etc. Now we just have the guy who sounds like he's in charge of the Walters. Get the likes of King Kenny, Tony Parkes and any of the well-loved figures back at Ewood. I'm sure some would love to come back once a season or so.
  13. Jack's Rovers era couldn't have been far off self-funding - including a stadium. If it wasn't for the Kidd years, I'd be certain that it was. Does anyone have the facts and figures for it?
  14. It's strange, after a long time off posting, I started reading a few of your posts in total agreement re Souness - I even liked one or two and then merely offered a difference of opinion regarding Dunn. Sadly, it's apparent you don't seem to be able to cope with a difference of opinion (which you repackaged as an agenda). I pop in a bit of factual information (as opposed to your thoughts that Dunn wasn't actually injured, he just used dodgy hamstrings and surgery as an elaborate excuse to have a shandy ?). Unfortunately, for whatever reason, within a couple of posts you then got oddly petty as a get out clause - which is really disappointing, as all I wanted was a bit of debate. Nevertheless, off back to the safety and sanity of the shadows I'll go.
  15. I must have imagined him with a severe back and hamstring injury that x amount of specialists couldn't resolve, which led to serious surgery, being kept immobile and then followed by traction. In my defence, David and Steve Bruce recollect it though. www.skysports.com/football/news/11694/2333185/bruce-backs-du
  16. Shortly after his idiotic move, he suffered a severe injury that would have ended many careers. Unfortunately, he could never be the same again. I disagree that he did naff all though. He contributed a hell of a lot upon his return to Rovers, not as explosive but a lot cannier and wiser. I also remember talk of a deserved England recall when he was banging in the goals and playing some really excellent stuff (as a number 10). Without a shadow of a doubt, David Dunn had the tools to do even better but is undoubtedly a Rovers legend.
  17. I found him really frustrating. I can't believe that someone with such terrible judgement could work their way up to that level. What a fool he was.
  18. We protected the keeper brilliantly yesterday. Apart from the shot from range, they didn't get close. Excellent result, frustrating match ruined by a terrible referee.
  19. Surely you keep up with current affairs and the improper practices of those hypocritical scumbag hacks? It was just one of many stitch ups/hatchet jobs that pretty much every England manager has been subjected to. Glenn Hoddle's views were known and aired well before he took the job - he was an easy target. Sadly, sections of the media make it their mission to throw people under the bus to influence as much as they can and masses of people are too weak minded to see through it. If only a fraction of print space was/is dedicated to dealing with the deeper issues in society, the world would be a better and safer place.
  20. Although extremely low in percentage, I'm sure there are also people with disabilities who share Hoddle's opinions and believe they did something wrong in a past life. Personally, I think it's a shame he was hounded out of his job by the holier than thou hypocrites in the media.
  21. For all of the opposite reasons, that's why I enjoyed League One so much. You can't beat team spirit and passion!
  22. Don't knock it. Think of the money you'll save on shoes.
  23. Excellent result today. We weren't outclassed and there is life in the old club again.
