  1. I used to refuse to check the score on Sky Sports as we'd concede within seconds of me switching it on. Similar in the 90's, me turning on Radio Lancs would mean the 'Goal Action, on Radio Lancashire' whistle would almost instantly tell me we'd concede. I honestly used to feel at fault ?
  2. They had three really dangerous headers where the attacker was badly marked. I think one hit the post
  3. Thank God for that. Really takes pressure off the team (who would have absolutely caved in a relegation scrap). Project stick with the League One players should be over with now. Introduce some of the U23's and scour the world for improvements on the first team. We were very wasteful, lucky not to concede but I really enjoyed tonight. Great to win again.
  4. You need to go to more games. Definitely a lucky charm ?
  5. They've cut back some of the young academy teams too. Weird ways of working at Rovers. Cut back a load of little things and then chuck £7m on Brereton.
  6. Get ready for a defensive masterclass ?
  7. I want to see Rodwell/Travis
  8. This riled me too. I was ranting like a lunatic. It showed us for the soft-arses we have become. We should have gone after them but half of the players were even too shit scared to kick the ball out of play and just passed it to each other. We are weak. Frighteningly weak.
  9. Chavs. Scummy, lowlife, uppity Chavs.
  10. Madam D looking sexy ?
  11. Yep, can't argue with that
  12. Nearly didn't bother going today. I don't know what was worse, the referee or the crossing into the box in the 2nd half. Our best attempt on goal was the Preston lad nearly getting an og. Too much chopping and changing, not enough desire to attack the ball or hassle the opposition and far too much pissing about with the ball. Frustrated.
  13. Ahh, yes. There was all the nonsense signings during the Kidd and Hodgson era.
  14. I bet the club under Jack almost broke even - including the stadium build.
  15. What happened in the 2-2 March, I've forgotten. I remember Barthez fouling Grabbi or something odd.
  16. Please stop with stats like that. I'm depressed enough.
  17. Exactly. It really is that simple.
  18. I'd like to see Rodwell in midfield too. I'm sick of no height in there. Rodwell with Reed alongside him must be worth a go. Oh wait...we've no bloody centre backs though ?
  19. Letting Downing go, not adding a bit of experience to help us kick on and believe we could get in the play offs.
  20. No doubt about it, Dack will be gone in the summer back down South. He's living in rented accommodation in Manchester centre and I'd imagine his reality tv Mrs will be a massive influence in his near future. I don't blame him though, he did a good job and hopefully we do reinvest wisely. We rarely do though.
  21. I've kind of answered that in a post we've overlapped on.
  22. No. You said a team is just a reflection of the manager. They aren't. My main issue is their weak mentality. Those players (especially in midfield and defence) have now proven themselves to be gutless, panicked, laid back saunterers. For 95mins, they are accountable for every choice and mistake they make. A man who can only tell them what they need to do, show them how to do it, tell them what to expect etc. throughout the week can only shuffle the pack and change tactics within those 95mins. If it was it the ping pong prick in charge who didn't organise or coach the players correctly, I'd agree with half of what you say. Not Mowbray though, I think he is a seasoned professional who will be hurting and banging his head against the wall. He isn't above my criticism though and I do agree in part because he chose them and he has built a team which often has a midfielder at CB, a midfielder at RB - simply put, he shouldn't ever be playing Bennett at RB when Nyambe is fit. He shouldn't have let Downing go, he should've built this Championship side around an experienced spine (particularly in goal and CB) rather than blowing £7m on someone who isn't ready for first team football. I'd like to expect that his loyalty towards some of his bargain basement buys will run out in the summer.
  23. I just don't agree sorry. A manager can advise, plan prepare etc. but can't influence someone dithering about in defence, not closing down space, lacking desire and aggression when attacking a high ball. We've seen week in, week out that our players aren't mentally tough enough to see games through. We've seen the keeper make unprovoked howlers, players shitting themselves when we concede, defenders hoofing it back to the opposition rather than making a simple pass - that isn't coached into them and it's clear we need more men/leaders on the pitch. It's going to get nailbiting if they don't grow some nads very quickly.
  24. Honestly, I don't blame the manager. It's those gutless and clueless idiots who pull on the shirts that are the problem. There's a lack of effort, desire and basic ability. Not happy.
