  1. That is such an overused cliche these days. I've been on here long enough to see how things work and will unfold. There's way too much demand for titbits of information and generally not enough patience in the world - I suppose that kind of supporter has always existed (I remember the premium rate numbers on Clubcall/Teletext). Of course in an ideal world Mowbray would tie up everyone he wants asap but that so rarely happens. I've no doubt Mowbray has identified who he wants. Some he'll get, some he won't and unfortunately, those who we won't will become a stick to beat the club with as the season progresses but that's the way it goes. There just seems this ridiculous demand for quickfire signings which goes back weeks now and I also read people fretting about Dack' s new contract - why?? I just hoped that the positivity of promotion would last a while longer as I personally think we are heading in the right direction at long last but I accept that it may be a long journey back to the top table. As long as there is an honourable man in charge, I'll be relaxed. There are more than three worse teams than Rovers and I don't expect too much drama.
  2. The levels of impatience and panic on here are bordering on insane. Yes we need to improve and add depth but it's mid-June. The players who want to join Rovers will, do. They'll sulk back to their current clubs at the start of pre-season and be ushered out sharpish. We'll also add quality loan players late in August when they realise they won't be featuring regularly at their current team. It's not rocket science is it? Personally, I think some people just can't wait to pick each signing to bits in the same way we were promoted on a Tuesday and come the weekend, dummies were being spat out of certain prams. Best advice is, chill out and recharge the batteries, leave Chaddy alone, enjoy the World Cup, we will improve the squad and I'm sure we'll be competitive next season. For a start, we don't have Owen Coyle - so that's a major positive.
  3. The Lampard one was ridiculous. It was almost a metre over the line.
  4. I'd be more than happy with half a dozen decent quality signings. I'd definitely like Chapman back on loan. Armstrong was ok but there might be a better option out there. A big midfield battler, young creative midfielder and a quick and direct unit up front and an experienced defender.
  5. What was the massive fine QPR got? Was that FFP?
  6. He's short of a bit of Soul Glow but he looks frickin awesome!
  7. Improve the service from the wings and Graham will score quite a few again.
  8. He massively improved game on game. We missed him when he was injured and the team suffered with Bennett having to cover at RB. I think he'll keep getting better ?
  9. I still hope Gladwin comes good. We've had a few slow burners over the years, so fingers crossed. I'm not holding my breath though.
  10. I have to sit through it regularly as my children love it. He/she says she is English...it always winds me up!
  11. Not good enough for a cagey, overly defence-minded Gary Bowyer side, with more than enough quality and firepower for the play offs.
  12. True...but he could kick ? Flowers claimed loads of crosses but he always seemed to have a couple of goes at catching it on the way down.
  13. He won't have a cat in hell's chance of playing for a top six club with the way he kicks and fails to impose when coming for crosses. It is a real downside to his game that he has to sort out. He is a fantastic shot stopper though and coped well in the Championship last time around and I think, will only get better. If he does end up as a Premier League keeper, it'll be via the play offs with us ? Personally, I think maybe he is struggling a bit mentally and plays on his nerves - hence the panic kicking but lightening reflexes. It can only help having an experienced keeper around him and the club.
  14. It bugs me too. Considering what an excellent season we've had, it soon gets back to the sniping and winky wafting.
  15. Kevin Moran, Craig Short, Henning Berg and Tony Gale did alright. I think it depends on the calibre of the centre back, rather than just a number.
  16. I'm obviously not going to name the guy but it was only this season I heard it and he wasn't saying it to brag - more of a case that it was insane!
  17. I was once on the next table to a Bury exec. in a restaurant and overheard that some of their players are on 7 & 8k a week. I think some people underestimate how much poor players can command.
