  1. I think of all of the strikers Bowyer signed, only Gestede actually scored a league goal.
  2. Real do, any pain for them is payback for what they've put us through. I just hope we aren't left with a squad of 8.
  3. Ifs, buts and maybes...my personal what if is that he'd replaced Steele sooner. He certainly did a better job than Coyle and did it without a single one of his own players. He will have a literal clean slate to work with next season - which will be very tough. I don't expect any funds to work with, so it is going to be another poison chalice. Let's pray we chance across some decent rejects with a point to prove.
  4. Mowbray deserves a chance. Not a single player is his, overall, this mess isn't his. During his time in charge, he has made mistakes. Raya should have been brought in sooner and we should have been more offensive. We still might scrape up - I don't feel we will but you never know.
  5. So, just to clarify, if someone is colour-blind, they can't pass judgement on football related things?
  6. I think we spent a week in the playoff places in three years. That with Rhodes, Gestede, Hanley, Cairney, Marshall and God knows who else who have moved on. That's not success in my eyes.
  7. Thanks for the apology Stuart. You are right, although not universal love, some did back him. Embarrassingly, even I was too lenient at first and was prepared to let him prove himself...he certainly did that! I took it as you meant that the vast majority was behind him/them - which I don't believe was the case.
  8. The world is a strange place. There will be somebody, somewhere who fancies Anne Widdecombe. To me, that is as stomach churning as singing those songs.
  9. I totally agree. Some people saw it coming before the takeover. I didn't.
  10. I can read fine thanks, patronising Annie. It seems to me you'll blindly defend any nonsense statement you pipe up with though Stuart - what's so bad about possibly being wrong about something? From my possible jaded memory, Kean and Coyle have never and weren't ever welcomed with open arms and certainly weren't ever backed by the fans. Not once can I remember (I can't speak for Coyle) "Steve Kean's Blue and White Army" etc. Bring sung. My recollection is both appointments led to uproar amongst large factions of our fan base. For me personally, and many others, I refused to go to Ewood under puppet number 2. But if I am wrong, hey ho.
  11. Kean and Coyle backed? I must have missed that. Things are bad. Real bad. Our best players are loanees and we are in a dire situation. Anyone coming in would have the same options, which are: no money, no support, no board, no structure and no say. All we can hope for is survival but I sincerely hope every supporter does what they can to encourage that. I see no positive in courting failure for our club and there are some that think that relegation = a swifter Venky exit. I doubt that very much. They will go when they are ready and we need the carcass of the club as highly placed as possible.
  12. As the day has gone on, I think it is a decent appointment. I like managers who tell it as it is and I think he'll be like that. He has shown he can get teams to survive and also, guided one to promotion. He's got the experience that we used to cry out for and most importantly, isn't a full kit keaner like Owen Coyle.
  13. To be honest, our managers aren't given any money to spend or have any say so over who goes - so it's one of the few accurate titles at Rovers.
  14. From memory he got Boro moving in the right direction. That's as much as we can hope for this season. I'll give him a fair chance but I am more underwhelmed than angry.
  15. He's my favourite out of him, Rhodes and Gestede - so I am very happy with this signing. Brings a lot to the team, works his socks off. More than just goals.
  16. There are different ways of relaying the pitch. Someone at the club told me that last year, the Ewood pitch was redone at a cost of £29,000 but it used to cost twenty times that. Whether that is accurate, I have no idea.
  17. Is the new series of Breaking Bad being filmed yet?
  18. Sorry, not getting on your back. Just complimenting Cole - I rated him massively.
  19. I like Rhodes, he was good at this level - but Andy Cole was one of the most under - appreciated strikers this club has had. He was class, a nuisance, busy and linked up with a strike partner and dragged defences around. Every attribute Rhodes doesn't have, Cole did.
  20. Did we sell him or is he on loan?
  21. Let's hope he knows which goal he's aiming at.
  22. But it's quite alright for professional women to swoon over a sportsman's appearance and squeeze their biceps etc. Double standards, both are totally harmless and it's absolutely ridiculous to even consider it news worthy on this scale. She was hardly doing some deep digging journalism for the Cook Report.
  23. I'm not sure where that would've been. Kind of sounds like being given breakfast before the walk of shame ☺
