Well that was unexpected.

Honestly that's a bit of a blow. Not that it was a strong contest, but a fit Leonard could have been our second highest scorer last season imo, and I'd hoped he'd be back to kick on. Let's hope Tygon is the real deal because let's be honest, I highly doubt we're going to invest in anyone decent.

We create absolutely nothing and Turkey attack better than any team we've faced. I've seen nothing to say we could beat anyone comfortably. But I agree, the Dutch are a level above what we've seen.

Honestly, considering how insipid England are going forwards I can see them seriously struggling against either of these teams.

Could potentially alternate the takers to reduce the advantage and swing the pressure a bit to even it out. I know it was trialled in some places but I'm unsure what the conclusions were. For the pens themselves - keepers have to stay on the lines as they do now, outfielders have to run in one motion and just kick the ball. Seems the fairest way to me. No funny business, just a one on one. Outfielder should score more often than not anyway.

Mainoo and Saka were the only ones trying to move anything against Slovakia and Switzerland for long spells. Not really his fault the front three (particularly Foden and Kane) have ghosted 90% of the tournament.

I agree that there are some elements of skill, but for me there need to be a couple of major changes: 1) Huge element of luck with who goes first - maybe finding a way of balancing the order so that the team that goes first doesn't have a complete advantage as they more often than not win 2) There is a massive attacker advantage. Keeper has to be rooted to the spot whilst the attackers can do any number of things in the run up. Just make it simple - run up and kick it.

Possibly, but only because they like to counter with pace but we'll sit 11 men in front of them so they can't do that, but also can't attack.

On the flip side, the only one he didn't make was the only one he met a major nation before that stage. He's had unbelievable luck with how the seedings have dropped in all his tournaments

Awful again. Saka doing his best but Kane, Foden and Bellingham not getting into the box. Somehow have an ability to end every corner with the ball in our half.

Saka did a couple of times but Kane was busy chilling on the halfway line so he probably thought "why bother"

Thank god for that. France are negative but Portugal have so many dislikable players. Serves them right ultimately - if Martinez had stones Ronaldo wpuld have been benchriding but instead they had nothing up top and didn't use free kicks in good crossing positions to satisfy his vanity.

I thought the rule was that they had to keep moving forwards at all times? He did for the first stutter but 100% stopped momentarily on the second.

Yet again Ronaldo cheating on a penalty and stopping dead. Needs cutting out.

Let's be honest, the club is screwed and there's only one family responsible. Sure, the likes of Waggott aren't blameless in how they treat fans but ultimately the owners have taken a stable Premier League club and seem like they won't sell even if it's only worth scrap value by the time it is done. There's no chance the club can sell the £20m+ annually it needs and be able to invest to stay in the league. At this point I'm more confident of hitting non-league in the next 10 years than I am Premier League.
