If Eustace can get a red too that'd be grand. Utterly abysmal - I thought we'd turned a corner but we clearly just took advantage of a shocking Sunderland and a toothless Southampton rather than any real change from the manager. He can't be allowed to manage beyond the end of the season if Waggott's "stay in the league" target is in effect. -

I appreciate the need to make subs and the fact that he's willing to do it, but I honestly can't fathom what the logic behind the actual subs made are. -

And a cavalry of that quality is exactly why we are where we are. I really hope I'm wrong though as we need points desperately. -

Yet again we ahow up in games where we don't expect anything and the second any kind of pressure is on them they wilt. -
One thing I will add - I'm glad we managed to nullify Russell Martin football. A colleague of mine supports Swansea and waxes lyrical about him but for me he's up there with the biggest frauds in management. On to Wednesday now - a win there and we'll be more or less where we need to be to stay in the division.
-
A point we'd not have expected to take a month ago, so a good result in that context, but the results everywhere else are going to pull us back in to the mire again. That games against Wednesday is must win - I don't think a draw will be enough in that game.
-
I think having an actual midfield makes a big difference, especially with JRC's quality. One of multiple areas where we are severely lacking, especially after pushing Wharton out of the door.
-
There's surely no way, no way, even we throw this away... right?
-
Can't complain at that half way through, still think we need one more. Who is our second top scorer this season? It seems as though Sammie is the only one who ever puts it in the back of the net.
-
Yep, and thanks to the dire situation the caretakers of the club left us in we've cashed in as soon as possible when we could have got a bigger figure at the end of the season, in addition to actually having a midfield in the second half of the season. That said, Eustaceball may have devalued him a bit!

John Eustace - our head coach

I notice Mr No Excuses spent most of the interview making excuses... again. No time for this manager at all, doesn't even talk a good game let alone play one. At the end of the season the best case scenario will be we're still in the Championship with a manager who will have won at most 1 or 2 games in 15 or so games. In no way should he be anywhere near the club come July 1st, but he will be, we won't invest and regardless of the league we end up in we'll have another dismal season. -
We are going down (the pessimism thread)
RTM08 replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If we go down by a point Hyam needs to be stripped of the captaincy for that. Well, in my opinion he shouldn't be anyway but that really does epitomise the lack of ambition and standards at the club currently. -
We won't bother trying to win, and eventually someone will make a mistake because this squad just isn't good enough for this league. At best we will get a draw, which isn't enough where we are.

There's one thing losing those players, the criminal thing is doing absolutely nothing to replace them. This is utterly unsustainable on every single level. -

It amazes me that I still see comments asking why Ewood is empty when this is the bilge we serve up every week. -

Considering where the team finished last season to be this far behind a newly promoted team, even one as good as Ipswich have been this season is a complete and utter failure on Waggott's part. Disgraceful -

All the players coming out and complaining about JDT when whilst he had his faults he clearly knew they weren't the standard required. -

Unsurprisingly, this is going to be a cricket score. -
John Eustace - our head coach
RTM08 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Even if it turns out Eustace is a good manager (and very little of what I have seen gives me that impression) it won't matter. In the summer we'll shed a bunch of already poor high earners and replace them with freebies and children, and will go down next year instead. If he is as poor as I think he might be then we'll just look that worse doing it. -

Of the top 4 this feels like the most winnable, and we showed earlier this season that we can put goals past them if we go for it. However, I don't see us going for it under Eustace, and even if we did we literally only have Sammie as a danger. We'll play for a draw and hope we can nick it, so for me it will be 0-0 or 0-2. That said with 2 weeks maybe Eustace will finally have them playing. -
Unbelievable statement, it really is. No one could have possibly thought that would do anything other than fan the flames. It does nothing other than deflect and leave pretty much everyone as much in the dark as they were already. After the past 18 months for them to come out and act as if they are putting a ton of money in when they have slashed the budget to the bone and left it to rely on itself is a joke. Something needs to change, and in the immediacy Swag would be a good start, with the owners to follow.

A point that in isolation looks good with a clean sheet and performance, but with the context recent results just isn't good enough. The fixtures next month meant that we absolutely had to win at least one or two of the games in Feb/March and we've failed miserably. Still absolutely nothing here to convince me I want Eustace anywhere near this club next season regardless of league. -

The one thing I need to know is - what was it that Owen Coyle of all people did that managed to make him seem a half decent Championship striker? -

I'd love to know what exactly they were supposed to be working on this week.
