  1. At least he is a midfielder and isn't quite Bambi on ice receiving the ball in the middle. Should be Wharton though.
  2. Yeah then we can go back to being depressed by Rovers instead!
  3. I feel like people forget that if that Campbell goal against Portugal isn't ruled out England have a huge chance of winning that tournament. As much as Sven underachieved it took Brazilian magic in 2002 and some of the dark arts/pens in 2004/2006 to stop them. That squad would have comfortably beaten Italy/Croatia
  4. I think their style would be especially effective against England because we would sit back and invite the press in dangerous areas.
  5. I'm sorry, but if Lewandowski is allowed to basically stop midrun, the keeper shouldn't be forced to not move. One of the most absurd rules in football. The rule should be that the taker has to be completely fluid, not technically fluid.
  6. Wasn't that always supposed to be the case this season?
  7. Interesting, I'm looking at these games on now and thinking that if England top the group they lose to any of The Netherlands, France or Austria in the RO16.
  8. If that's the case a huge improvement but doesn't really dispel the thought that the commercial team only contact about 4 companies about sponsorships! However, an improvement is an improvement so we'll take it!
  9. If the leaks are true, that's another beautiful set of kits from Macron. Unfortunately, yet again I regret I will not be buying anything with that sponsor on it. I had heard rumours that they were being changed but I guess the commercial team have failed again. To be honest, a good general rule of thumb to start is that if your youth players can't wear the sponsor, it probably shouldn't be on the shirt at all!
  10. You can forget favourites, there are at least 10 teams comfortably better than England at this tournament and 3 or 4 that would rip them to pieces on current form.
  11. To a degree, but the issues are the exact same as they were last game, and there are wider issues caused by an unbelievably poor manager. This is his 4th tournament and he's learned absolutely nothing.
  12. That Czech goal might be the most undeserved of the tournament so far, but it was a great finish!
  13. He's been all over the place all night, though both teams' antics aren't exactly helping matters.
  14. Really interesting that you focus on the half sentence at the start and completely ignore the paragraph that explained my reasoning for him being poor as England manager.
  15. His club record is poor at best and was only given the job because of the chaos that had gone before. In tournaments themselves, lost to every major nation he's faced (aside from the worst German team in decades), with every single one of the big ones being lost by him being completely unable to adapt. England start well, the opposition change it up and we just sit back and let them come on to us until we lose. Last night proved he's learned nothing - the opposition just wasn't good enough to punish us.
  16. Don't get me wrong, I think Southgate is an abysmal manager, but at this level the "world class" players should be the ones demanding the ball and forcing their way into the game. Bellingham did, and Foden looked like he couldn't be bothered. Slovakia looked solid though they were bailed out by yet another Lukaku disasterclass in front of goal. Romania could do a number on Belgium to on the right day.
  17. Not at all, but play like that against any half decent side and they'll put 4 or 5 past us.
  18. But, on paper they are better than Serbia, who have been by far the better team. This whole performance has been rancid.
  19. Mainoo for Bellingham. Well, the subs have shown that Southgate has no desire to be adventurous this tournament, even with talent available.
  20. Tbf my issue was less with Bowen himself, but more the change that was made, Foden was clearly the winger that needed to be hooked.
  21. Bowen for Saka? What on earth is that change? Foden for Palmer was the obvious one. Edit: Well, almost worked out immediately haha
  22. I'd also perhaps be tempted to put Toney on if we're just going to lump it up top. Can't do any worse than Kane so far.
  23. One team has turned up this half, and it isn't England. AS usual, Gareth in no rush to actually improve yet again.
  24. In Kane's defence, he can't drop back because Foden and Bellingham are in the 10 position and we seem to have no desire to get him into the game apart from hoofing it when he has two mountains next to him. Trent has lost it more in the middle more than the rest of the team combined. Get him off and actually put some effort in ffs.
  25. Germany could have put 10 past Scotland and looked like scoring every time they went forward. England are scare about crossing the halfway line against Serbia. Teams that actually win things go for the jugular.
