Pretty much, we scored a lot of goals under JDT with someone cutting back to someone moving across or arriving late into the box, so that fits if it was his philosophy.

I think Sammie came across very well and managed to navigate some tricky questions well without dismissing them. As others have said, it's clear that JDT (and it sounds by extension other EU coaches) had high standards and expected the players to want to push to be the best they can. Some rose to meet this whereas other perhaps more limited players clearly threw the dummy out. Eustace can come in and play the PE teacher "everyone can do it" role which suits a club with zero ambition or standards. Sammie clearly wants to leave and has earned it. The fact that he and Adam Wharton will be sacrificed to "save the club" is worrying, because it is at best a stay of execution. What are we supposed to do when we don't have another £20m player to flog (i.e. next season)?

As good as the win was on Saturday it has to be said that we were unbelievably lucky that Leicester couldn't be bothered. I mean, just look at the goals, the last Leicester player was camped 35 yards from our goal - if even one player was left on halfway I doubt either goal happens. And this is where if he's going to succeed Eustace has to evolve. Hoofing it up the field to Sammie can work against teams that pin us back, but when we're at home and teams sit off we're all over the place. The fact that he seems to think the squad doesn't need much work considering the style of play and performances so far is raising serious red flags to me. Let's just pray the powers that be don't beef another transfer window.

Whilst I know we need players, I'm perplexed by a number of people wanting to keep the likes of Ayari and Chrisene. We'd only get them on loan at best, and it's not like they were pulling up tress in what was already a very poor squad. We need a major squad overhaul and the players we get in have to be able to hit the ground running in the Championship. What we will get will likely be way short of this and we will be doing well to finish higher than 24th next season.

Well, on the plus side if we keep it at 0-0 the rest doesn't matter, but that Plymouth goal is a massive problem as that was the more unlikely of the results to go against us. The problem will come when we have to use the bench later in the game and if Leicester decide to have a go. If we go one down do we really expect them to go for it?

The academy has been a huge factor in our constant downsizing. It is used to highlight the owners "continued investment" as well as the main way of generating new players for the first team, which means we keep pulling young players into the squad who are either much too raw or will never be good enough at this level. Any normal club loans them out to lower league clubs to get an idea of where they stand before trying them at a higher level, we throw them in at the deep end and hope for the best because we refuse to use the transfer market properly.

More and more teams are passing us by and with Venky's we're going to struggle to stay in the Championship even medium term. Eventually, there will be too many teams with owners that care for us to compete and before you know it Waggott will be telling us how we "can't compete" in the transfer market against Wrexham and the like.

Broughton and Waggott to replace Sammie with Tyjon next season and we'll be fighting for that Rotherham record.

Ultimately we need a head coach who can adapt, because none of our coaches will ever get the squad they want. JDT had the problem that he refused to adapt and Eustace is following, but unlike JDT plays some of the most turgid football ever to grace Ewood and his interviews don't give him the benefit of the doubt like JDT got. He has done absolutely nothing to show he deserves his "own squad", and the one he built at Brum has done even worse than we have, albeit it with managerial turmoil of their own.

I would agree with you, if we hadn't had years of transfer windows where we push anyone worth a damn out and replace them with children and dross. If you can see anything in the DoF era of Rovers to suggest anything other than a sell and not replace properly strategy I'd love to see it too.

They keep injecting money in, but the question has to be asked how we're still hitting this £20m loss per season still, considering we strip closer to the bone with every passing year. Nixon reckons they're still determined to get to the Premier League, but literally nothing they do matches with that thought process - unless a significant change happens, we'll be in League Two before we get to the PL.

Not only are JDT's games where he couldn't be bothered comparable to JE's, but a lot of utter dross we've had in years past have better records too. Any half competent manager could have got even one home win from the games he's had. If the likes of Berg, Appleton, Coyle etc were sackable, Eustace is considerably more sackable. If we're in the Championship next season, he shouldn't be here. If we're in League One, he definitely shouldn't be here.

And we still are rudderless. The only reason we may stay up is because other clubs have beefed it, not because we are any better.
