  1. Decent subs there, Watkins and Palmer should stretch the Dutch a bit and press better. Kane off was always the right choice.
  2. It's been a "quiet" almost 30 minutes now. We've created nothing this half, the Dutch have multiple good opportunities. When exactly should he change it? When the Dutch score?
  3. This happened against Italy, Croatia etc as well. Gareth won the early exchanges and then the opposition manager changed things and we threw the games away. Since the changes we've barely been in their half - Gareth needs to change it.
  4. We are all over the place on set pieces and we're losing control of this game. Make a sub!
  5. Has it? I'd argue if anything it's following the classic pattern of Gareth being completely outfoxed by any even slight change in tactics from an opposition manager. This is winnable but he needs to make a change.
  6. I think all the pitches have been pretty poor this tournament. Next change surely needs to be Kane for Toney. He's so far off it it isn't funny.
  7. The Dutch are pressing us much higher now, we need to up the tempo and get them to sit back a bit before they grow into the game.
  8. Well there we go, Shaw on - let's hope that his legs don't fall apart.
  9. We seem allergic to crossing, whereas I feel we could put a lot of pressure on. At least 3 times we had 4 people in the box and no one would cross.
  10. Every attack they've had has come at pace on that left side, not sure if Shaw has the legs in him currently. We'll see him much later in the game I expect.
  11. Perhaps, but they have still looked like scoring almost every time they come forwards, so we've got to be careful and make the most of the possession we're getting.
  12. Tbf neither have we against most of the teams we've faced and not lost yet. Much better tonight so far.
  13. Some of the stuff this club pulls would sound like complete fiction if you hadn't seen it happen with your own eyes.
  14. Foden on that right side and suddenly he looks much, much better.
  15. Dutch absolutely there for the taking here, just got to keep this pressure on and hold our concentration.
  16. I get why it was given, but honestly that's a crazy decision considering how natural that movement is. We take what we can get I suppose.
  17. Great goal. England slow and ponderous, the Dutch lightning every time they move forwards. Hope that wakes them up.
  18. It isn't risk aversion that has meant that all the "good" sides on paper have been on the opposite side of the draw whether we come 1st or 2nd in our groups. It's absolutely been luck.
  19. This is the kind of attitude that followed the "Golden Generation" of the 2000's. Individual brilliance does not a good team make, and so far this new lot are showing it. Do they have the potential to be better? Sure. But Spain have been consistently good so far this tournament and we've been consistently poor, so they would be clear favourites to win. France I agree would perhaps be a more even game as I think they've been poor up until now, especially considering they have a relatively strong squad.
  20. Anything more than a 1 year pay as you play would be incredibly stupid with our limited funds, so of course we will probably offer ridiculous terms.
  21. That makes a much sense as any other argument I can think of, completely absurd situation though. At some point, someone will have to step in or there won't be a club left to salvage.
  22. I can't imagine the EFL doing anything considering the number of clubs before us who have had in some cases even worse owners than we have.
  23. That Yamal goal completely flipped the momentum of this game. Spain barely looked in it up to that point.
  24. What an absurd goal for a 16 year old. Shades of that Rooney goal in terms of properly announcing himself on the world stage.
  25. I honestly can't see a scenario where the Venky's can stay as owners at this point? If they can't put into the club, there is literally no difference between the club being owned by them or being fan owned! It makes absolutely no sense why they refuse to sell at this point. There is zero chance of them getting any of their money back without significant investment, so why don't they just cut their losses? This has all the hallmarks of a toxic season. If we don't invest we'll be fighting for 23rd and if we sell Sammie we'll be fighting Rotherham's record points total. What they have done to this club is criminal.
