inI never expected us to be a top 6 side.  I felt that we would be comfortably mid-table, however the way we are playing both defensively and also going forward we could easily be sucked into a relegation battle.

This new style of play that Mowbray has put into place is not working mainly because if you want to play a possession game then you have to push up and press the opposition so that you can dominate the ball and get possession in dangerous areas, instead we are not pressing (and don't have the players to play that sort of game) and are left passing the ball backwards and sideways in areas that pose no danger to the opposition.  The tempo that we play is so slow that it allows teams to easily deal with whatever we are trying to do.

Tony needs to get back to basics or he is going to find that we are will be in a relegation battle and as we all know once you get dragged down there it is very hard to breakaway.  Those hoping that Mowbray will get sacked, he won't be getting sacked anytime soon because the likes of Waggott and Venus would never recommend his removal, the owners may decide to take action themselves if we are in serious danger of getting relegated.

To me, we are now already in a relegation battle. I am expecting defeats in the next two and all fans will then be looking at the bottom 3 hoping we can pull clear, rather that at the ever increasing gap between us and the top 6. I watched the match on I Follow last night and one of the commentary team said, if we win tonight and Preston lose, and we then beat them on Saturday, we go level on points with them and everyone says they have had a good start. As we now know, we lost Preston drew and they will go further clear of us on Saturday. I would say that's the last time this season, we will be mentioned as a top 6 pretender.

As a side note, Preston are evens to beat us on Saturday. For those who like a flutter and a drink, lump on, as it is nailed on. Go out on the winnings and forget football until the following morning.

Next match is defently vital for us we have to defeat blody bromies if we want to keep on a safe spot by the half of seasson...

We have to face that if we loose against shity blues against Preston and plus Leeds by November we'll on the danger part of the table something that we doesn't diserv

It's doable if we control the miedfield soemthing that el happen I spect but we'll have just few opportunities only against them so we need to score that few opportunities if we play specting to have a drawn we will lose if we doesen't play with our 100 % we can lose and it is time to understand that any single match till December is a final to us.

Anyway I LOVE my colors amd still waiting a 1-0 for our Rovers with a goal from Dack.

We were bound to be relegated when Venkys sacked Sam. No "due" about it.

It was almost as if it was deliberate. Rather strange too that the manager at the time, had a bonus written into his contract that was still paid, had we been relegated to the third tier. I mean who would have thought of that, when we were tenth in the prem?

What a load of nonsense. I have never heard anyone who isn't a fan say rovers.  Everyone knows who United are but outside Lancashire rovers could equally mean Bristol or Doncaster.

Like I said you are clearly on the wind up. I guess Stevie Kean is one of your heroes is he?

The Albion = Brighton? Really? Mmmm....only you would really know whether you're being honest with that one but I would hazard a guess that most people would think West Brom, despite Brighton's current premier league status. You very rarely hear BHA being referred to by their full name and therefore I bet some folk don't even realise.

Your Bristol and QPR analogies don't really work, by the way, but you probably knew that.

Anyway this is in danger of derailing the thread but a pet hate of mine is someone putting an opinion forward as a fact, which is why I interjected. We'll just need to agree to disagree I think.

Imagine calling Rangers or Celtic Glasgow, or even saying Rangers have a plumb draw in the Scottish cup and meaning Berwick. Someone is on the wind up and referring to a former manager as Stevie Kean, seems like a term of endearment to me and therefore says it all!!!

?That is anything but a 'fact'. I have lived in Scotland for 25 years and people with absolutely no connection to Blackburn ask me things like "Who do Rovers play on Saturday?" or "How did the Rovers get on last night?". You might say "Ah, but they already know who you support" but the truth of the matter is when I'm asked by taxi drivers and the like who my team is, I always say "The Rovers" and the vast majority of people know exactly who I mean. They usually follow it up (in Glasgow) with "Aye, but who do you REALLY support?".........but that's another story.

Even that inbred lot call us B*st*rd Rovers not B*st*rd Blackburn.

Spot on and if you prescribe to them being pretty big, if I said my friend is a United fan, who would everyone think of?  Yes we all know the answer, but yet there are loads of United's. We are the original and the best and are known as Rovers, by almost everyone.

Venkys have given the green light to over £15 million worth of transfers this season. The fault lies at Mowbrays door. Don't be fooled

That’s like me allowing my Grandson into the tigers cage as a birthday treat, to tickle its belly. The intentions were right, but extremely dangerous

  9. We will never go anywhere, whether Mowbray is the manager or not. I have said many times already that the club is rotten to the core and will never start to recover again, until Venky's are no longer here. I can't stomach watching the goals tonight, reading about them and knowing how players and staff don't fee like I do, when I see the club in the mess it is just makes me very sad. £120 million in debt, no sign of us improving any time soon and it looking a lot more likely that that the way out of the division, is relegation again, makes me so upset and angry.

Mowbray said when he walked through the door, "This is Blackburn Rovers". Sadly it's a shell now and has become unrecognisable since the chicken farmers turned up.

‘Super Atko’ began as a pisstake, but promotion season onwards it became a positive chant!

Atko was a typical example of someone who was dragged up by his shoe laces to a much better standard, due to the players around him. Very limited, but a tryer and looked good with quality everywhere else.

I disagree with you, you disagree with me, it doesn't have to end with you making comments like this about rather than to me.

I don't make them about you, it's called respect. This is a conversation, not an argument, and I do wish you wouldn't try to turn it into one.

Not too sure if your post above in response to Pete, means that you shouldn't really be saying what you have here, unless you want to look hypocritical?

If all of those things stop you coming to the games then it's laughable. Why would beer and pies stop you from watching your team? Odd.

I probably go to as many games - at all levels - as most on here but I would never say that I expect others to do the same.  I know a number of Rovers fans who gave up when we were relegated and found other things to do.  They still classify themselves as fans but love what they are now doing more than going to football.  They may go to the odd game but no more than that and to be honest none have told me that they actually miss football.  That's life.  Things change over time and how we spend our leisure time changes.

In many ways gates have held up remarkably well all things considered.  In the eighties - the last time we had a long period of second tier football - the average gate was often well under 10,000.  I suspect we will do well to avoid that happening again.

I don't envy those at Ewood trying to balance ticket pricing with the requirements of meeting the Financial Fair Play regulations.

Being amongst home crowds of around 7,000 or so in the seventies and eighties, probably means I am entitled to call myself a Rovers fan. I could make the excuse that I live abroad, but I do still make the effort to go the some games. I prefer away fixtures now and that is purely and simply because of the owners. I have been a Rovers fan for 47 years and I always will be. My decision to go to games or not, hinges on many factors. The one that puts me off more than any other reason though is Venkys.

    Really?

    1. Get season tickets on sale in April £300 JW, £200 BBE & Riverside.

    2. Matchday tickets £20. West Brom do it.

    3. No attendance surcharge.

    4. Get transport organised to home games.

    5. Resurrect the Supporters branches

    6. Abolish 1875 club to make season tickets more prized.

    7. Pie & pint £5. Happy hour 1-3 and 5-6 £2 a pint.

    8. Reopen the original family stand.

    9. Restart Radio Rovers.

    10. Stop moving kick off times and treating the supporters like idiots.

    11. Get some decent beers on sale.

    12. Turn the tannoy down to encourage singing.

    13. Reuse the original TV gantry. The sight lines at the back of the Riverside have been ruined by the 3 new ones.

    14. Abolish Cat A1/A/B pricing. It was originally brought in for games against top 4 Prem clubs, not 2nd division rubbish let alone 3rd division.

    15. Show some respect to the paying season ticket holders by cutting back on the freebies. 1,000 complementary tickets is ridiculous for a club struggling to pull in 12,000.

    16. Last but not least, get some weedkiller sprayed behind Bolton Road in front of the JW Stand. It's a bloody disgrace.

What did the Romans do for us?

Definitely an exciting signing if we pull it off. The longer it takes I worry about others trying to hijack. I guess it was agreed back when training with us that we would take him on once his contract expired - gentleman's agreement.

Might not have quite had the career he probably envisioned when he first burst onto the scene but you dont win Germany caps (albeit only 3) if you do not have something about you.

Now, in my time supporting Rovers, I can only think of another two German players to represent the club. Any guesses on who they are?

Sergio Peter, was a player who came through the ranks I think and made a couple of appearances. Never heard about him after, so not sure what happened to him. I am fairly sure, he was German.

Final Score the other week had a female host, a female pundit and a female analyst. There were more women discussing the men's game than fellas. I don't have a problem with women being involved but the BBC are just blatant with their agenda. If the roles were reversed there would be an outcry.

Is your picture the host, pundit or analyst? Keep whoever it is on, as I might tune in next week.

I'll never trust Barry and his pals but iv'e a grain of sympathy for the other family who were probably hoodwinked from all angles. However then you think about the ignorance of we know better, the arrogance and of course wilful neglect and blind stupidity and that grain disappears i'm afraid.

Barry and his high fives in the directors box with the super agent, is a sight that I will never get out of my mind. Yes I am sure the other family members were a little bit further away from the source of the trouble, although Madame read a script from someone about wanting entertaining football, as she wouldn't know the shape and the size of the ball, I wouldn't have thought.

Steve Kean the man of relegation bonuses and not one but two wages on his contract, just where was that extra few million per annum really going ?

Bad advice ?  Stitch up ?  or wilful blind eyes being turned ?

Either way they were all responsible and the majority of that was with the owners.  One almighty cock up for sure but there was a lot more at play than meets the naked outside eye.

It may seem like small potatoes the money that was stolen from the club, by people who were paid millions for a job they were not up to. The managers, the players and the agents all had their noses  in the trough. Ultimately those lost millions can have a few noughts added on to the end, as it was this wilful neglect that caused the demise. We would not be having the debate of Mowbray in or out right now, as it would never have come to this, had the owners looked after their baby as promised and respected the legacy of Jack walker, as they also promised.

    Badly advised, my ar5e.

I have now formed the opinion that this is a fallacy-like the one that says Kean would have gone, if we had lost at Old Trafford.

Venky's had given him an extended contract (I think) and they never even sacked him, even after we had gone down.

Bloody Hell, he had to resign and claim constructive dismissal! They were never going to sack him. We, as fans should not take (or give to other fans) the responsibility for Kean staying on.

He had a clause in his contract that eluded to a bonus that would have been paid, had we ended up in league one under him. It shows what was going on at the club at the time, although of course, it could have been without the knowledge of the owners, who some supporters consider, were badly advised.
