  1. I grew up watching one of the best England keepers, ever. I was ten when he had his crash, and I prayed he would be okay. I cried when I found out he wouldn't play again. Surely, why we all love the beautiful game? (And, yes Pele's comments are from a bygone age.....very few gentleman footballer's left).
  2. No reason to doubt, 78 years young if the case. Blackburn born and bred. Always sad to lose one of our own.
  3. Sharp really is a goalmine.
  4. At last a deal from the club for the last six home games. Super six, prices from £99 for adults. Could be tempting if we are there or there abouts?
  5. A couple of years before me, not the 1922 one!
  6. Sadly, haven't they been twice pre-PL?
  7. Meanwhile at West Brom, it looks a third full. So much for progressing! Jason Roberts looks well.......I notice he couldn't look at either goal, not really recognising what they were.
  8. As they will never win the PL, it is a none question, as to anything else, well if we are in the mix, we should never throw a game!
  9. 2-0 and well done Newport at present.
  10. They had to start somewhere, and plenty more to come. John Lewis and Arthur Constantine Lawrence Cotton Sir Jack Not players, but great pillars of our great club. Atkins, Barker, John Bell (333 appearances), Berg, Billy Bradshaw (426), Branagan, Briggs, Noel, Aussie Campbell, Cole, Connelly.....Duff, Dunn, Eckersley, Else, Ferguson,, Field, Flowers, Gally, Gennoe, Healless (397), Colin, Matty, Jones, Glenn, Langton, Le Saux, McGrath, MacLeod, McNamee, Metcalf, Millar, Newell, Newton, Parkes, Pickering, Quigley, Rathbone, Ripley, Rogers, Sellars, Sherwood, Short, Speedie, Sutton, Tugay, Vernon, Wilcox, Woods. To name but a few......okay, I got my big book of Rovers facts out!
  11. Looks like Boro fans have turned up in two cars tonight.
  12. He will knead loads is my view.
  13. I am on here regularly. Without going into detail, I have very specific constraints on my expenditure. I can't afford a ST for me and my 18 year old. The odd £10 game would attract me, as did the Norwich game, which I attended. I'm with you, Stuart, Gumboots, et al.......imagination and creativity is needed. Blackburn is far from a rich town. Of the seven of us that went regularly pre - Loons, none now attend. I am the only one who would go regularly if I could. The empty seats are down to a certain absent silent family and a strange policy by Waggott.
  14. With Plod's resources as they are, the Fraud Squad aren't interested in anything under ten million!
  15. The red ball will be slightly lighter than the blue ball when the pickers pick, it’s written in the FA stars.
  16. Looking at his Stats, I was only born in 63, his best years were with us, but I was too young to watch him. See he passed in a Spanish rest home. It's always sad when one of ours goes. All the thoughts with his family.
  17. I've diverted lives of the rich and poor to "Where are they now!"
  18. As there is a large amount of activity in the transfer thread, there's been some fun as to where former Rovers have lived, bearing in mind the silly money currently on offer, and humble digs, homes, etc - Just asking for some stories?
  19. There is a new thread here in itself. A player at some point must have lived on Nuttall Street!
  20. According to his interview in the LT, he's fit! He seems genuinely happy to be back, said really positive things about our club, and I wish him well. Young, time to heal, I'm sure TM will nurse him. Impact sub, step up to the PL next season!
  21. When you are on a million a month, he can probably pay to have it widened, a la Manky ship canal, all the way to the sea!
  22. You have the advantage over me as to the popular spots for spoiled footballers to live! Sutton had a swimming pooled house in Chaigley, Ripley lived on what was the executive estate of its time off the A59 at Langho, and when I lived in Waddington, Le Saux was renting just down from the Waddy Arms! That's the full extent of my knowledge!
  23. He does know he can moor them on the Leeds, Liverpool?
  24. 70 miles, 60 from the hot spots of Cheshire to Blackburnium?
