What's sad is he had actually looked better of late.

I had firmly put myself in the Mowbray Out camp before our unbeaten run, too many odd decisions and he just didn't look like he knew what he was trying to do let alone achieve it. But then we had the Brentford game where for the first time under him we looked like a playoff capable team. Passed it out from the back, pressed well and I thought he'd stumbled across his best team and if we could stick closely to that team then we would have a chance. I was very happy to give him another chance because I was happy with what I was seeing. I even didn't grumble in the Derby game when he put Gallagher on the wing. But through a fixture pileup and some injuries he's had to change that formula, and with Dack out for a year he can't ever go back to it. Suddenly it's very apparent that he's spunked a lot of money up the wall on Gallagher and Brereton who even now when we've gone two up top don't look up to it. The question really is what is the ambition now from the owners? Is their money available and promotion the goal then might as well sack him now. Is the pot dry and we just have to work with what we've got with promotion being a bonus? Then it's not so obvious.

I wouldn't be looking to let downing leave at present. He's still got decent legs for a 35 year old and he's versatile

So many negatives from the game today it's hard to pick out any positives (maybe walton) I'll try listing as many as we came up with today Bennett at right back 4 4 2 with two target men up front and nobody out wide to put a cross in Gallagher on the right wing again and armstrong through the middle Downing played in 3 different positions during the game The urge to promote buckley who just isn't ready yet and had an absolute stinker today. Some basic passing going astray No urgency Chapman looks visibly slower than he did 2 years ago and it's looking like that one is going to be a waste of money £7million striker not deemed good enough even for a sub appearance Did I miss anything?

You look at messi when he first broke onto the scene and then you look at him at his peak. Very strong legs. Dack is weird example for someone to use as he's quite strong for a 10. Uses his big arse to hold defenders off as he's not the quickest

Bigger not really. Stronger yes very much so. It's not about size it's about having the strength to not get knocked off the ball every touch in a tight area. He needs to strengthen up which takes time, I'm not saying he's not going to make it just saying he's not ready yet.

When he's playing as the oppositions number 10 then he's making his main job a lot harder!

He's too lightweight imo at the moment to play in his actual position at this level.

Lenihan in the last two games has done the defensive things very well but his passing has been atrocious. Buckley looks like he has talent but he's not ready yet. I don't think he should be starting personally and I'd rather have seen a Chapman or a JRC getting that place, bulk him up in the under 23's and send him out on loan next season. Armstrong frustrates the hell out of me, he really struggles to time his runs to stay inside when he plays upfront. We can definitely give up on Bell, cost us two points today not that we deserved it.

Think you've overrated lenihan a lot and you've been too harsh on Rothwell who did well second half.

Think your giving Lenihan a free ride there, thought he shocking in possession tonight. Armstrong was very poor and looked a yard slower than usual. But thought Rothwell was good second half after barely touching the ball in the first half. Evans was poor in possession, dack wasn't really in the game before his injury, Holtby gave a bit of hope.

Tbh if he's back for the start of next season that's a bonus. Gutted for him

Never really rated him. Really tidy technically but no end product.

Tbf he can only do that given a run of games. One of him or Armstrong has to start on one wing

I’m going to say that’s very harsh on Watt. Edinho Jr needs to be in there somewhere, genuinely think he was the worst player to ever play for the club in my lifetime.

Nelson I suppose should be in, I tend to think of him as a 2000’s player but he counts due to back half of 09/10 and 10/11. Emerton similar. Jones missed half of 10/11 so hard to include. Williamson’s red card makes top 10 highlights of the decade which probably says a lot.

Following on from the player of the decade lets try team of the decade. Difficult with this as we've played at 3 different levels during the last 10 years, the success criteria for this is very subjective. nominees??? I've definately missed some. GK. Robinson, Raya, RB. Players are people some will not develop physically until their early 20's, take harry winks for example. Some just never develop physically. Buckley I would keep around Brockhall and monitor his physical progress and let him play under 23 games to get football. Rankin-Costello should replace him on the bench, he ready to play league football now and his versatility makes him easier to use of the bench. Butterworth should go out on loan to league 1 or 2 and get game time as there are two many players in front of him.
