  1. His legs had gone when he left at the end of 12/13 season and struggled to reinvent himself centrally. Hes 38 now and just got relegated from the Norwegian second division. Pass
  2. Very much ticks the Mowbray boxes Played under him before land is a north east lad
  3. No i'd say he's a good option off the bench. Just shouldn't be starting especially at full back.
  4. We cant think about getting rid of Walton until weve sorted out at least one other keeper. Leutwiler is much worse. Bennett is still useful as a squad player, Graham is one of very few players we have that is capable of scoring and needs to be kept until the end of the season. Evans is probably in our best 11. Then the problem is trying to find a buyer for the rest of them. I imagine to get rid of some of them we will have to swallow a decent chunk of their wages for the remainder fo their contracts.
  5. We have to persevere with Gallagher at this stage, does he deserve to start not really but we need to give him every chance to come good. Start Graham then. Bell is the only left back in the squad, didn't see the Birmingham but Sharpe said he played well so put him in instead of downing at left back and rothwell left of a midfield 3 (which incidentally is his best position)
  6. Walton Nyambe lenihan tosin Bell Travis Evans Downing JRC Gallagher Armstrong Subs: leutwiler, Williams, Johnson, Rothwell, Chapman, Graham, whoever else is left.
  7. Wouldn't mind a couple of these young Liverpool lads. Pedro Chirivella on loan with an option to buy.
  8. genuinely believe that Rankin-Costello is worthy of a place in the 18 at least more so than Buckley and Brereton too. Especially with the injury to Dack we need another wide option. Had Butterworth not had such a bad run of injuries this season then he likely would've been in with a shout. Davenport I would like to take another look at.
  9. My theory is a growth spurt. He's grown a couple of inches and his touch has gone slightly.
  10. Looked visibly slower at huddersfield but looked to have a bit on his man vs forrest
  11. Hopefully Chapmans cameo opened Mowbrays eyes a bit when it comes to using at least one proper winger. He stretched the play, ran at people and put crosses into the box which is what we need. Ideal if Chapman can be the one to do it, not saying he was amazing for those who didn't watch (he was poor vs huddersfield) but it was a broadly positive appearance.
  12. What a pointless extension that was. Waste of time and money.
  13. I would rather have Marshall at right back than Bennett
  14. Good ball in from rothwell then gallagher should be doing better there
  15. He's not that bad, set the goal up
  16. Cracking pass from rothwell in the build up to the goal
  17. What's sad is he had actually looked better of late.
  18. I had firmly put myself in the Mowbray Out camp before our unbeaten run, too many odd decisions and he just didn't look like he knew what he was trying to do let alone achieve it. But then we had the Brentford game where for the first time under him we looked like a playoff capable team. Passed it out from the back, pressed well and I thought he'd stumbled across his best team and if we could stick closely to that team then we would have a chance. I was very happy to give him another chance because I was happy with what I was seeing. I even didn't grumble in the Derby game when he put Gallagher on the wing. But through a fixture pileup and some injuries he's had to change that formula, and with Dack out for a year he can't ever go back to it. Suddenly it's very apparent that he's spunked a lot of money up the wall on Gallagher and Brereton who even now when we've gone two up top don't look up to it. The question really is what is the ambition now from the owners? Is their money available and promotion the goal then might as well sack him now. Is the pot dry and we just have to work with what we've got with promotion being a bonus? Then it's not so obvious.
  19. I wouldn't be looking to let downing leave at present. He's still got decent legs for a 35 year old and he's versatile
  20. Chapman looked like he's lost a yard of pace which doesn't bode well for him
  21. So many negatives from the game today it's hard to pick out any positives (maybe walton) I'll try listing as many as we came up with today Bennett at right back 4 4 2 with two target men up front and nobody out wide to put a cross in Gallagher on the right wing again and armstrong through the middle Downing played in 3 different positions during the game The urge to promote buckley who just isn't ready yet and had an absolute stinker today. Some basic passing going astray No urgency Chapman looks visibly slower than he did 2 years ago and it's looking like that one is going to be a waste of money £7million striker not deemed good enough even for a sub appearance Did I miss anything?
  22. Walton Nyambe lenihan tosin downing Travis Evans rothwell Armstrong graham brereton
  23. You look at messi when he first broke onto the scene and then you look at him at his peak. Very strong legs. Dack is weird example for someone to use as he's quite strong for a 10. Uses his big arse to hold defenders off as he's not the quickest
  24. Walton Nyambe lenihan tosin downing Travis Evans rothwell Armstrong graham brereton
  25. Bigger not really. Stronger yes very much so. It's not about size it's about having the strength to not get knocked off the ball every touch in a tight area. He needs to strengthen up which takes time, I'm not saying he's not going to make it just saying he's not ready yet.
