  1. Of course it is! I have zero problem with the transfer and not sure why people would. He's exactly what we've been crying out for all season in regards to leadership and experience. McFadzean played all 120 minutes of the playoff final last season, has over 600 senior games under his belt and this is effectively a loan signing til May. Of course he's not the long term answer, but our defence looks better with him in it than not. I prefer him to Phillips and Cooper.
  2. Rovers fans ''We want experience and leadership, we're crying out for it.'' Rovers sign 37 year old Coventry City captain on a short term deal til May Rovers fans ''37?! Are you having a laugh?! He's too old and slow and exactly the player we shouldn't be signing!''
  3. I agree with the overall sentiment Duncan, but is Adam ''levels above'' what David Dunn ever was? Probably for another thread 👀😂 but Dunny did make his debut in the Premier League at 19, was England u21 captain at 20 and almost exclusively spent a career in the top flight. Adam has huge potential and may go further than Dunny did, but he's still got to go and do it. At this stage they're decent comparisons, though its probably easy to forget how good Dunn was in the Championship and Premier League throughout his career.
  4. As I mentioned earlier in thread we became masters at ''selling at the right time'' this is also what Brighton do (which we all look upon enviously) as do Brentford. When is that magical time? You always know when its too late, see Dack, Brereton, Rothwell etc. Really like Adam and he's shown flashes of huge potential, but Case Study - Player X 13 goals in 18 for the under 18s, when just 15 years old. Reserve Team debut at 15 Premier League debut at 16 Player of the match in the final of the FA Youth Cup at 16 Premier League loan at 17 Regular Premier League (top 4 club) starter at 18 England debut at 18, hailed ''the future'' Ankle fracture at 20 Club captain at 21 FA Cup winner at 23 Broken Leg at 24 Loaned out to get fitness at 25 44 games later, retired at 30 The career that was for Jack Wilshere. There's absolutely no guarantees for Adam. I wish him all the best for his career, but he's assured of nothing, injuries, distractions off the field, loss of confidence. Its hard to be a footballer, its harder still to be one of the best in the Premier League. If the money is right, and the money goes back into ensuring the model works, I'd sell. That pathway also keeps the best young talent coming through the door at 8-12 years old. We show that when its time for you to move on, we wont stand in your way.
  5. As said by a few on here, the money if reinvested would be crucial, however you do feel as though recent monies from sales has gone to the greater overall debt/FFP stuff. £20m plus add ons will do for me. Lets not forget that potential is so often unmet with younger players, injuries, off field distractions etc are all very real. The club survived and thrived in the late 00s by selling at the right time, Santa Cruz, Bentley, Warnock etc
  6. Am I being thick or can you not buy tickets on the Rovers website? It says wrong card details, I've tried three different ones and it wont let me get beyond that screen with an error! Please check that your card type is one that we accept and that you have entered the number correctly.
  7. Morsy and Travis must be one of the most ''Shithousery'' midfield combinations of all time. Will be plenty get wound up playing against Ipswich in the second half of the season. Good move for Trav, obviously not a JDT man, maybe he comes back next season when Tomasson has left for pastures new (as we all assume).
  8. Fan Takeover Eve Eve Getting that mixture of excitement and anticipation now, looking forward to a fuller Ewood and hopefully some renewed credit with the powers that be at the club. Lots of hard work going on behind the scenes in several areas......keeping everything crossed it all goes to plan on Saturday. Any guesses on crowd levels? 18k would be fabulous as Mike Graham said. Dare we dream for 20k?
  9. Amazing effort after just one day! To put into context: That is tickets for 120 Adults (or) 240 Concessions (or) 600 Juniors!
  10. Talk less, smile more. Hamilton, what a show, seeing it in February, saw it on Broadway earlier this year with a rather enthusiastic (drunk) Chicagoan woman next to me, too many Hamiltini's! As for the match, I can't wait to see more people on the ground and meet some more forum members. Plenty still going on behind the scenes also, so plenty to be excited about.
  11. Have come across some fans who run him close, but Birdy’s dedication was unique. Spoke with him on several occasions, most recently at the Girona pre season friendly, though he (and his wife Annette) did make me feel guilty every time I’d decided to watch a mid week away match from home, rather than taking a day off work to go to Ipswich or Sunderland or latterly Millwall! Characters like him are what small town, provincial clubs like Rovers are built on. I can only imagine how proud he must have been to see the club scale the highest of heights and win the Premier League along with European adventures and domestic cup glory! Rest in peace Birdy
  12. You can put together a decent championship Rovers team from our squad that didn’t play this evening! Pears, JRC, Hyam, Szmodics, Tronstad, Hedges, Gallagher, Gilsenan etc All of whom have contributed this season in league or cup. Let’s not get overly carried away with a bonus match. Back to the bread and butter on Sunday, far more important issues at hand.
  13. JDT now the 6th longest serving manager in The Championship! 1. Mark Robins, Coventry City (since 6/3/17) 2. Nigel Pearson, Bristol City (since 22/2/21) =3. Ryan Lowe, Preston North End (since 7/12/21) Steven Schumacher, Plymouth Argyle (since 7/12/21) 5. Kieran McKenna, Ipswich Town (since 16/12/21) 6. Jon Dahl Tomasson, Blackburn Rovers (since 14/6/22)
  14. Just gave everyone on the POTM centre a 6/10, felt like it was going to be one of those 0-0 sort of games, but Coventry nicking it at the death was hard to take. Now the dust has settled I remain convinced that we'll be fine and the results will turn. Poor officiating on the Moran goal, rattling the crossbar and it deflecting out for a corner, Sigurdssons poor decision making at 0-0 with the shot....the key moments that went against us. Still feel as though it'll all click and we'll be back on track. Hopefully at Loftus Road on Saturday.
  15. Going off last season, the outgoings and what I saw at the Girona match. We HAVE to score first. Don't want to be chasing the game against what'll probably be a solid top half side. Our achilles heel last season and no doubt this one also.
  16. 1. Who will win this year’s Championship ? Leicester City 2. Who will claim runners-up spot ? Southampton 3. Who will finish rock bottom in the Championship ? Sheffield Wednesday 4. Where will Rovers finish this season in the league ? 11th 5. How many league goals will Rovers score this season ? 56 6. Who will win the BRFCS POTY ? Adam Wharton
  17. But why didn’t you knee him in the groin @Herbie6590 😂 Brilliant day yesterday. Hope we all represented you (the forum) with distinction and humility and built bridges with the club.
  18. With such a traditional home shirt design that has little or no room for design elements I don't mind the odd bold choice when it comes to an away/3rd shirt. This shirt fits that brief wonderfully. I imagine it'll be popular with the kids and if we have a famous win/cup run etc in the shirt it'll find is place in Rovers folklore. Would be the shirt I'd be most tempted to buy out of this years releases so far.
  19. Lovely quarter zip Ian! 😂 such a delightful podcast, well worth a listen for every fan, even those who’ve only supported the club in a post Tony Parkes era. Looking forward to reading the book, saving it for my holidays!
  20. Flight to Vienna the best bet? Looking more out of curiosity than anything else!
  21. New Stoke City kit released today, should give us some clues. Expect these but with blue for the home shorts and even a Rovers 'Letterman/Varsity Jacket' on its way?
  22. Some great opinions so far! Another one of mine would be to actually make supporters able to purchase food/drinks without either missing 5/10 minutes of the first or second half! The amount of money I save, easily £50-£100 per season, when I look at the massive slow moving queue to buy a coffee or food! And just don't bother. Unless you're in the queue as the first half whistle blows you're definitely missing the start of the second half! I'd have dedicated beer/cider kiosks where people bought pints/bottles with a turnaround time of no more than 15/20 seconds per customer. Its completely cashless these days anyway, so the card reader should take the most time.
  23. After discussing on our most recent podcast. Part 2 of the End of Season Report, I'd like to know your opinions to this. Episode 2 https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/podcasts/4000-holes-the-'what-now-'-show-big-old-end-of-season-review-ep-2/27 Feature starts at the 22:02 mark From the profound to the ridiculous all opinions welcomed. Would you change the price of season tickets? Ban Goal music? Introduce a zip line off the Jack Walker Stand? Make the Finch Bakery hut a permanent fixture? Resign Bradley Dack? Whatever you think, let us know. For our musings check out the most recent 4000 Holes Podcast! 24. Sunderland falling to the fate I imagined we'd have in mid April. A tight close contest at home with either a narrow win or a draw, only to be out muscled and overawed at Kenilworth Road and comfortably beaten. The playoffs are so brutal on any teams that 'sneak in' not since Blackpool in 2010 has a side finishing sixth been promoted to the Premier League, even then the difference between 6th and 3rd (Nottingham Forest) was 9 points as opposed to this years gap of 11 points.
