  1. May have misunderstood here, but are you talking about Edwards? If so, he signed a 4 and a half year contract with Stoke less than 12 months ago. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50181844
  2. The Dolan part I can agree with, the won't improve us part is wide of the mark.
  3. I was gonna suggest David CrackingJohnson* to fill the void left by Graham. *If he's still playing football that is.
  4. Very very talented player. But 300k shouldn't be spent on a 19 year old midfielder.
  5. I think ironically whichever of Armstrong or Brereton Mowbray decides to play down the middle - they have a quiet game. Both seem more comfortable coming in from the wing.
  6. First time I've seen Dolan and I was concerned about his size when he first came on, thinking he'd be flighty. Don't think I've seen him knocked off the ball bar two obvious fouls. Intelligent with his body.
  7. You can tell he's a converted midfielder. If you didn't know any better, off today's game. You could be forgiven for thinking Wharton was our steadfast centre half and Lenihan the perennial loanee.
  8. I don't want to see Bell wear the shirt again. Absolutely terrible, looks completely disinterested and incapable.
  9. Agreed. Going forward on the overlap he's made 2 or 3 intelligent runs this half. But it's obvious defending isn't his forte.
  10. On another note. Someone's going to get injured this season if the pitch remains in this condition. Huge pockets of grass and soil being dug up, players losing their footing. And at least one poor challenge partly caused by the turf.
  11. Saw him a couple of times last season. Always looked decent. He is a left footer as has been mentioned. Bit of a cult hero at Charlton. On a free on the face of it, looks a good signing. I can't find it at the moment. There's a video somewhere of a ball he puts in the box for Lyle Taylor against Forest last season. If it was Robertson or Alexander Arnold, Sky would be waxing lyrical. Edit: found the video, looks like it's been filmed using a potato.
  12. There's (rightly) a lot of stick towards the senior leadership as to our usual speed in the transfer market. I'm actually rather impressed at how we've moved very swiftly onto the next target, once we got an experienced keeper through the door. Long may this trend continue.
  13. His brother plays for Skem, so maybe he wants to stay in the North West to be close to family. I'd still expect however as a professional footballer, you'd want to take an opportunity in the PL if the opportunity arises. So if its a straight race between us and WBA, i don't think we have a prayer.
  14. From a fitness perspective, he should be fine for when the season starts. If I remember correctly, the Belgian league (like Ligue 1) ended their season early. So he's had a decent break and then a somewhat "proper" pre-season, with their league already 2 games into the season.
  15. Maybe there's the option to drop the offer to Downing who doesn't seem interested, to give Westwood a decent wage (less than the reported 30k he's on). It's what I'd do if I was Mowbray.
  16. If Monaco are looking at that keeper, he can't be terrible surely?
  17. Sadly not the case Chaddy. I remember hearing a few weeks ago about Valladolid's defender Mohamed Salisu "on his way to England" to sign for Southampton. It'd all gone quiet until yesterday when they announced the signing and mentioned he'd passed a medical after being required to follow UK quarantine rules for however many days it was. You'd have to imagine now that most players signed are going to be UK based.
  18. Also has a brother (Harry) who plays for Stoke. On loan at Fleetwood last season and played the majority of games. 21 year old I think?
  19. Agreed. He stood out like a sore thumb in that Fulham defence that got relegated two seasons ago.
