Brentford (A) - 12:30pm KO (Sat 22nd Feb 2020)

Buckley clearly good on the ball, think he's been quite decent. Terrible at tracking back though. Samuel terrific at holding the ball up, and a few times he's controlled a big lump up field and found a teammate. Ball Isn't bouncing off him like Gallagher. -

Yeah remember Unleaded breaking that from completely left field. Might get some more info once we start scouting Europe properly. -

My thoughts yesterday evening. A team still in the cup, Maybe the move got hindered due to Willems injury but back on with Rose's arrival. Might also explain Magloires return? Potential 3-5-2 with Ritchie and Nyambe Wing backs? -
That ball for Lenihan's goal was superb.

Possibly Matthieu Udol? Started their season injured, but came back just before the Christmas period. 23 year old. I only make an educated guess based off the fact he's out of contract in the summer so it's the kind of deal we usually like to try. -
Cheers, I'd have done more than Brereton. ?

Scrap that.....
-
Not terribly. He's been left open twice when our back line gave them more space than NASA, one which they punished us with. Bar that, he's been ok. Distributed quite well and looks to attack a corner at least.
-
Chapman does more in 10 seconds than Brereton's 45 minutes.
-
Half the players look devoid of any confidence. And Brereton's legs are like pinball flippers, you can't teach a first touch and his has always looked awful, includingin all his YouTube videos.

Are we? Whatever formation it is, it's terrible to watch. Consistently aimless balls all over the place. Players out of position. This 'change of style' has never been apparent. -

Bacuna will cause us all sorts of problems, mainly due to Bennett's ineptitude at right back. -
A decent Christmas and we stay in the mix with a real opportunity to go for it in January. A test of Mowbray's willingness to progress and get us in the playoffs. Could be shit or bust time for him, if we don't make adequate moves (backline the priority) then I fear a similar February and March as last season.

"Keeping the powder dry" comes to mind. -
3 times Bennett has been out of position in about 10 minutes.

Which ITK'er called Cunningham? Even if we don't sign him (don't fuck it up waggot), you called it. I'd have thought he'd possibly be out of reach for us. -

Fair assessment Chaddy. Couple of other areas I'd like to improve. But I think they're potentially manageable until January. -

Out of interest Chaddy, what would be your thoughts on the window if everything ends up as it is now? -
We're awful at getting through a tail, especially an Australian one for some reason. Through gritted teeth, Smith was great today. But that innings might well come back to haunt us in the series. 20 years or something since they beat us in a test match at Edgbaston.

Well we've got two now with Walton & Tosin (won't attempt the last name without Google), but I get your point - still got the option of bringing in another loan or two. Thought it was interesting you mentioned Max Clarke - a left back for Vitesse. And the fact Mowbray mentioned we don't have a left back (excluding Downing) who can keep hold of the ball and make good passes. Maybe Bell's days are numbered? -
No arguments from me on both those counts. When he gets the ball though, I get as excited as I did when Duff used to get hold of it.

Just thinking out loud here. Is it possible we've been interested in some players abroad but ala Gallagher, have decided to try and wait it out to keep the price down? Difference being is we are coming to the end of the window whilst European clubs have a few weeks longer, So they're in no hurry to sell at a reduced rate. Maybe I'm giving TM too much slack. Either way, I'll be well within my rights to judge next week and fingers crossed we pull something out the bag before then. -
I'm glad he's stopping around. It does appear we have a crop of youngsters coming through who can play at this level and maybe higher. I'm all up for seeing some of these kids play. Buckley has me as excited as the first time I saw Duff play. Different positions and styles, but clearly good technique and a good brain for a young lad. He's probably bound for better things than Blackburn Rovers if he continues his upward trajectory, but I'm hoping we get to watch a decent chunk of his progression at Ewood.

Tony looks more like a parkin man to me.
