  1. I don't think signing a 25 year old who's played the majority of his football at League 2 or lower is what we need, regardless of price. I understand that players can make the step up but we need players who can hit the ground running and don't need time to bed in.
  2. £10m sees us stand still and we have no room to reverse any further. So we need substantial backing in my view, backing I don't see anytime soon.
  3. Have to say, I think it's a huge mistake. We have to be careful with the little money we have and it can't be spent on passengers.
  4. Sounds like we have at least £23m available to spend this summer then, that's even before the owners "back us".
  5. I can see why you didn't give a name - imagine the grief you would've got!
  6. So an absolute novice with zero experience as a 'Head Of' in any capacity, is in charge of the footballing operations at a Championship club. "There's no reason why Rudy shouldn't be here" - yes there is, see above. "We've all got to start somewhere" - Yes, usually cutting your teeth on the checkouts or being a barista. In no other world would anyone be given 'Head Of' prior to having ANY experience in a similar capacity. None of it makes sense. He's been shadowing Waggott with the hopes of becoming a CEO hasn't he? So why does he have a job in an area he's not interested in?
  7. Watched the interview, lad comes across well. It's clear to see JDT has had a huge impact on how Wharton sees the game and I think an ex top level pro has shown him what it takes to reach the very top. My fear with some of our local lads in years gone by is that they've not pushed themselves and reached their possible potential (e.g. Dunn). By far the most excited I've been for the Euro's for a long time. One of our own, representing us, fantastic.
  8. I'm sure that will go breathtakingly well. And to be fair, we likely need another left back.
  9. Mainoo caught sleeping for their goal. He's a talented player, but I don't think he's a good foil for Rice or Bellingham.
  10. Jamie O'Hara is an after timer, in January, he'll have had zero clue who Wharton was, none of these pundits did. They're blind to anything below the top 20 teams in the country. Christ there's 'reporters' still proclaiming he's 'backup to Rice' - I understand the premise, but he can play all 3 central positions, not just 1.
  11. To think I was watching him at the start of this year in the stands and now he's about to show Europe how good he is and could be, incredible. Go and rip it up Adam.
  12. Don't we have an available spot left for a player who can bypass a work permit? I don't suspect it will matter much. I imagine our European scouting might be over.
  13. K**n makes his return as Venkys give us the V's?
  14. And I think he's misunderstood, just as I did.
  15. It was me who posted that and some people with much more knowledge than me have corrected me to say that isn't true.
  16. That implies logic, which Venkys don't abide by.
  17. They can invest as much as they 'want' as long as they back it up 100% with a payment to the BOI can't they? I think I read that somewhere. In which case if they gave a shite, they could invest. But they won't.
  18. Not that I particularly mind him going, but is there a likelihood of any replacement? I'm sick to fucking death of the wankstains in India and on the board (Waggott) talking about following other clubs models or creating our own structure yada yada yada - to only change tact 12 to 18 months later. What's the point?
  19. He does prosper when challenged. His debut for us, MoTM and I think the same for his first Palace start too. Granted international tournament football is another level again, but he could thrive as equally as he could flounder.
