  1. If the ref can't see that, then the linesman should've. The standards in this country are woeful and that's being polite.
  2. As well as incomings, I'll be intrigued to see if we actually sell anyone. To succeed, we need to get better at it as you'd expect it would give JDT and Broughton a wider pool of players to look at (although I doubt they'd get to use any money brought in). Same applies with the academy products. If we have genuine aspirations to be in the Premier League then not every player we're bringing through will have the ability to play at that level. This is on the proviso that JDT can use the proceeds.
  3. As well as O'Brien, I feel for both Brierley and Rochdale. It sounds like we'll sign him regardless, but from what I understand, Rochdale had a few players lined up with the money they were going to get from us. Although chances of survival were slim, you have to think this just added a nail to the coffin. I'd hope in good faith we maybe offer a bit extra in some way to apologise for the cockup and keep good faith with them.
  4. If we manage to keep hold of him, he has to be completely backed with every available penny in the Summer.
  5. I was more trying to make a point about how rumours can seemingly be cherry picked to suit a narrative. In someone's case anyway.
  6. Why do you think that? That's speculation and your opinion. We don't know what goes on behind closed doors at Ewood.
  7. None of this makes sense to me. He signs it and we end up in Groundhog Day 2024, when he's free to speak to foreign clubs again who will happily wait 12 months. If as someone on another thread alluded to, he might not want to make any big life decisions considering his recent arrival, then what good is a 12 month deal to Ben?
  8. I'd sell Gallagher for whatever it costs to get a new pitch.
  9. At this point Vale needs to be offering a goal threat, but isn't. He isn't the only guilty party. But if after 60 minutes tomorrow we haven't scored and/or are behind, I'd be giving Leonard a chance.
  10. At this point, why not. I know it's a big step up but no-one else is scoring and we've no-one else to turn to. IMO, let's see what he can do.
  11. Might just be me, thought it was telling that Suhail and Waggot were sat together, but not next to Broughton
  12. I wonder if we're yet to decide whether it falls into the football operations or commercial side of the club. So no-one has bothered to ask and it's a shit state as a result. Or Venky's are penny pinching....more likely that
  13. Then I don't understand how you can complete the registration if there are mandatory fields not filled in.
  14. This in no way absolves anyone at Ewood of blame. But you have to wonder why there isn't a web portal for player transfers these days. Half of the issues around missing info and 'did it come in on time?' would be stopped quite easily.
  15. Entirely what I was thinking when I saw JoeH's post around it not being unusual for Waggot to be at Birmingham. He may well attend games regularly, but there was zero common sense approach on Wednesday. What would have a bigger impact on our season as a whole? Him watching us make it through to the 5th round of the FA Cup, or ensuring a smooth ending to the transfer window with a potential game changing player walking through the door?
  16. To be fair, I'd want to keep JDT and GB around, but sack off the rest. At least the pair of them come across as hungry individuals who want to progress their respective careers. Maybe they'd have more success with similar people in the commercial and administrative roles.
  17. Just returned after a day of work and fucking hell I wish I was still at the office. So that's now management incompetence added to, not opening on a Sunday and a broken fax machine, as reasons for not signing players. The person's responsible should be 'thanked' for their services and walked out the door. I'll do whatever job Silvester does should do for half his pay.
  18. I don't think the EFL have much to worry about regarding us going up. Have they not seen our frontline?
