  1. Chelsea after Wharton? £50m it is then. The Gallagher thing probably explains why he's had a face like a slapped arse in all the recent social posts by the club.
  2. The experience he has, albeit limited, is pretty much all at or above our current level. So it looks a solid signing. At 26 though, he should have many more games under his belt. If I was him I'd be looking at this being an opportunity to get a permanent move (here or elsewhere) as it's not happening for him anytime soon at Liverpool and in 10 years, he might well look back and think he could've done things differently. He's local as well isn't he? Wasn't his dad at Bolton in some capacity?
  3. I'd take a Sir Jim Radcliffe approach of someone buying x% to help with funding.
  4. It didn't, postponed until the 12th of March. The can hath been kicked.
  5. I can only see Gallagher going if the money would cover whatever it would cost to bring the lad in from Orlando City.
  6. I'd only accept if its a club record fee received. I'd also put the caveat on Venky's that we're able to spend 60%+ of the fee received on improvements to the squad, but I know that's not something we can control. Which is what makes me nervous about selling.
  7. I'd be absolutely gutted if less than 6 months after becoming a regular, he leaves and for £15m. I'd be gobsmacked if £5m of that was reinvested.
  8. Isn't there also an election in India this year around May? I do wonder if that will have a potential knock on effect.
  9. I'm not Pickering's biggest fan by any means, but he's a massive loss right now. Our only recognised senior left back with championship experience is likely to be out for an extended period. It's clear with our finances that we are not finding it easy to upgrade on anyone signed prior to JDTs arrival.
  10. ....because the owners are disinterested. Say we swap the entire management team, are we likely to obtain an improved playing squad where the owners would demand results?
  11. All this is symptomatic of a club that is owned by a group who are uninterested and dumbing down everything around the place. If you were part of the footballing side you're probably asking yourself, If they don't give a shit, then why should I? It's not excusable, but frankly whatever management team and playing squad are in front of us, over time they will eventually feel the same, as long as Wankytesh still own us.
  12. Loaning him out so he can hit the ground running next season is probably a good option. Certainly better than him hitting the ground and breaking his knees.
  13. I'm hardly a wordsmith, but it looks like words fail them too. 'accuracy prevails over sensationalism' Is it not accurate based off public documentation that Rovers were threatened with a winding up order?
  14. At this moment in time, a protest is the only thing that would make me attend the game!
  15. Just seen the twitter post. Fucking unbelievable. As JB states, how has that bypassed the local media? Let's say Rovers are indeed wound up and cease, is there any financial benefits Venkys can get either as individuals or towards their other businesses as a result? If not, I'm at a loss as to why they're still here.
  16. One of the first times I've applauded AI.
  17. Where have they focused on Swag?
  18. Has JDT or anyone given an explanation as to why Szmodics wasn't in the squad today? Genuine question. I've been away most of the day.
  19. So you think we've signed a dud in Ennis then?
  20. It makes sense to loan out Leonard, a 20 year old finding his feet in mens football. Give him the opportunity of some regular game time and to understand what it means to be a pro footballer. Loaning Ennis out at the age of 24 after 100+ appearances in the EFL says to me he isn't good enough for Champ level.
  21. Interesting, maybe JDT fancies naming himself on the bench for the second half of the season.
  22. He would be ideal, sadly I think wages would be a huge stumbling block for us.
