  1. Last post I can see is from Yoda's brother who said SSN reported Villa. Maybe crossed wires somewhere.
  2. Sorry J*B, not sure if that's a statement or a question. Have I missed something? Is Samba back training with us, or would you want that to be Mowbrays first decision?
  3. He wouldn't have been my first choice. Although if I'm honest, of the realistic targets, I didn't really have a first choice - says it all. Of the lot he's probably a half decent option. You're always going to struggle to find a manager who's not got a tainted record at some point with the probable candidates at our disposal. As an ex-defender, he should be able to set us up to stop shipping as many goals as we currently do. He's going to need all the luck in the world to get us out of this predicament. Considering the views aired by a number of WBA, Coventry and Boro fans, he's well liked and did ok with what he had. Good luck Tony.
  4. The best thing that can be said to this lad today is "go out and enjoy it." I hope Kean has the sense to say that to him.
  5. I thought the Coen Brothers pulled off a great remake in True Grit. Jeff Bridges does a grand job as Rooster Cogburn.
  6. Don't think i'd be able to re-create her whiney little voice.

That's one, been posted on this MB before somewhere.
  8. 1864 - Personally I don't think Lucas Neill deserved that MOTM award. He was caught wandering on a number of occasions and he doesn't fill me with confidence. Plus I never hear him speaking to his backline. Emerton deserved it the most in my opinion. 2nd half was a very good performance and we came out the blocks with real fighting spirit. Jeffers looks very good I have been impressed with him since he came really but on a couple of occasions he has tried to score whereas he would be better pulling it back to better positioned players. He's clearly desperate to get a goal for confidence. Roberts looks rusty and his one on one with Kirkland showed that, he also looks a yard or two short. Bentley looked good once again and another alright performance from Pedersen. Big mention to Jason Brown who was brilliant with the spot kick and reacted quickly to the follow up and his save 5 minutes later off that Wigan bloke (don't know who it was.)
  9. Yes Nonda's determination won us that goal and the quick throw-in to set gamst off was quick thinking. But what I mean is I was expecting Gamst to crack it one aimlessly towards the goal to be honest rather than square it. I'm sure many other players would have had a pop, at least he got his head up and realised Benni was there. Which I thought was intelligent play.
  10. Now I didn't see the game midweek in all honesty, all I have seen are the goals. Now maybe i've misinterpreted what your saying and if so I apologise, but it sounds to me as though you are saying Savage has consistentley put in 3 or 4 good performances in a row. In which case I disagree because I thought he was lacklustre at best at Sheffield United. His goals got us out of jail no question and his set up for McCarthy was brilliant play, but apart from that I really didn't see any conviction from him. He was quiet apart from those periods.
  11. From a neutrals point of view it must have been one hell of an entertaining game, i'm sure it was for Rovers fans alike but god was I drained. Anger, delight, annoyance, delight, dumfounded, delight....it was a rollercoaster today but all in all we have the three points so i've ended up ecstatic. The first half we were terrible beyond words. There was no fluency, some slack passing, no movement and we just looked tired from midweek. Gamst saved us with his 2 goals and his assist this afternoon but to be honest in the first 20 minutes he looked lost. I've yet to see their first and second goals properly. Their first was a ball over the top and someone (who, I don't know) just didn't follow Barton who had a good 4 lightyears to pick his spot. Their second I was looking at the linesman and didn't see anything at all, so i'll be viewing MOTD with intent tonight. I'm glad McCarthy got on the scoresheet again lets hope we see it on a regular basis from now onwards. And I am so happy for Gallagher, some fantastic work from Emerton, who looks reborn down that side and he had another good game today. Mokoena won it today for us I thought, we looked solid when he came on, he got the ball used it wisely and hardly put a foot wrong. He cleaned up any mess and covered the backline when it was needed superbly. Nonda has also impressed me, very unlucky not to score today and he made some intelligent runs, he looked strong and created space for other players. I'm still uncertain whether gamst deserved the MOTM award however. Onwards and upwards from here!
  12. Ahh good, someone else wore their Rovers top at uni today, I felt so alone. I saw a few Geordie fans, one mentioned to me how the support of Rovers has steeply declined in the past few years, and asked what was going on. I couldn't answer.
  13. It's ok the dad's a Joiner . I know it's a sacrifice working at a dingle store, but the rewards of being able to watch Rovers is worth it.
