Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Roverthechimp replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
For all we know he may have tried resigning already and been told that his release clause is x Wouldn’t be the first one If not: he needs to either step up and work with what he has or quit (or at least make it known that he wants to quit) as he clearly isn’t happy and the team look lost -
How was the question phrased to Pasha? In answer to a direct ”has Lowe left the club” then Pasha would appear to have been being truthful without explicitly denying that something is going on. What sounds like a clueless answer might actually have been smart from him… Makes him appear dense but less controversial/revealing than ”he’s been kicked out by one faction but has appealed to the other mob to keep him on” 🤔

Why Leonard? Clauses that will raise his wages if he ever plays or just not fancied by the new set up? -
v WBA (a) - 9/8/2025 - The Big Kick-Off!
Roverthechimp replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Long throw WBA = panic and a goal Long throws Rovers = dealt with by their defence Thought Ohashi dived but in the modern game they are usually given. Can’t see us scoring many and Hyam can’t lead a defence so clean sheets will be few - this could be a tough season. -
This plus the idiots spend the allocated amount. If it doesn’t increase year on year then it is considered a saving/success. My suspicion is the lower wages to players means more to someone else but even then a static wage bill över 10 years means a real world cut (football not actual reality) of about 30-40%

For me standard procedure for consultation meetings is that a secretary is appointed to write the minutes and a number of people appointed to “ratify/adjust” them prior to signing/publication. Dependent on the number of attendees and organizations represented then the number varies between 2 - 6. It is fairly normal for some attendees to feel that certain things were missed IF the meeting was not following a precirculated agenda. I have also experienced a situation where minutes could not be agreed. In that instance it was agreed that each representative was free to brief their organization and members whilst the minutes simply confirmed that discussions took place without consensus being found on formulating the results/answers. In instances where disagreements/confrontations took place then it was commonplace to use the euphemism “lively debate” It has usually been the phrase “was not able to provide an answer that satisfied the participants” that has been used to highlight the source of the issues without giving them the option of questioning the quotes.

I think the confusion comes from the fact that a first set of minutes appears to have been accepted by the FF prior to Glen’s intervention. A little clarity on that aspect would be a good thing as currently it is not clear to myself and probably others as to the chain of events leading to the situation where the FF sent a 2nd set of minutes to the club after GM raised the issue

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

As seen by how events unfolded it required someone to buy them out of their contracts. Is there a club/country willing to pay money for VI? Hard to see Rudy or Pasha sanctioning a few experienced pros to keep the manager “happy” either way… -

Had a stress fracture in my left foot about 5 years ago. Misdiagnosed at first - encouraged to keep doing everything i normally do during the 2 months it took for me to figure out that they were wrong. That included a lot of walking, golfing, badminton and so on including the 6 flights of stairs required to exit or enter our home. Most of the time - it was an annoyance that could be managed with pain meds. Without warning it could then become so excruciatingly painful that i couldn't get up or down the stairs or walk the 100 yards from the office to my car. That would last a few days until suddenly after 2 months it went to shit and i couldn't put any weight on it at all. Still bothered by pain from it 5 years later despite it having "healed" completely although i am told this is most likely to nerve/tissue damage around the fracture which would have been exacerbated by continuing "as normal". In terms of what it meant at the time: rest for 6-8 weeks and i am not a footballer. Imagine he would be unavailable for 8-12 weeks if it did become problematic (including 3-4 weeks to get back up to "match fitness") Cynical head on: given the number of crocks we have signed during the years either we have changed the medical setup or this is merely an excuse to get out of paying a lump sum up front for a player we want (with or without said injury) -

Think Derby would settle for a top 10 with no relegation drama this season. Players he is signing had us top 6-8 despite the off-field turbulens. Derby won”t be concerned unless he is throwing 5 year deals at them on silly wages… -

Going back - I wonder if Lambert paid a ”get-out” fee or if he was the inspiration for the conditionality around JDT, JE and probably VI? Quitting is not an option 🤣 -
Suspect wages are also an issue - both given new contracts before the pursestrings were really tightened. Suspect even loan moves involve us paying a fair chunk of the tab

Either the figure is based on every possible clause being activated or he is on max 4k a week (remember the "flex" 😁) -

Is this the 2024 or 2025 summer window thread? 🤣 Is it the 30th of june when existing contracts actually end? (ie Dolan, Weimann, Baath) -
Was it really Waggot that brought in Mowbray? Thought Waggot arrived after Mowbray was already in place (seem to remember misgivings about Tony deciding his own boss)

I am a little concerned that Baath might be offered a better deal by a canny club aiming for promotion. The difference he made to our defence was significant and he showed he can definitely hack it. I'm assuming we will offer him the same as last season and the only question is can he be arsed moving for a few grand extra a week knowing full well that whoever signs him will only give him a 1 year deal (yes i know he only gets a 1 year deal at Rovers but given our amazing transfer record it is a fair bet that another 1 year deal will be offered in 2026 providing he can still walk...) -
Minutes of meetings are very very rarely an accurate record of what was actually said and how it was said. More important is to know and respect (and support) the efforts of fan groups to publicly highlight the clown show that is our board, executives and owners. The minutes presented make it incredibly obvious that our executives are full of shit, couldn't plan a piss up in a brewery and that the facade is cracking. They should be applauded for getting this on record in the public domain rather than being admonished for not calling SW/SS/RG/VENKYS total idiots when anyone with 2 brain cells can read that between the lines. For club executives of Blackburn Rovers to make idiotic comparisons to Leeds United and also openly admit that hitting a revenue target is more important than growing our fan base (which would lead to increased revenue longer term) ON RECORD is pretty damning. The statement that it is difficult/impossible to sort out contracts before the end of the season further confirms the total lack of "joined up thinking" at Rovers as they should have been sorted at the end of the 22/23 season or at worst 23/24 if, as per their description, things can only be sorted post season.

Who are the 2 factions this time? -
Managed all of 25 seconds and quite frankly Gestede is K*%N level duplicitous Edit: would have loved to have shared a taxi with Big Sam after the show - pretty sure he wouldn't have been quite so subtle
