  1. I read a comment over the weekend from Mowbray something along the lines of "I've spoken to Bradley and we have a plan for how we see his future" I read that as a sign he was seeing this season out but we have an agreement he can go in the summer. It wouldn't be a good plan to let him go mid-season.
  2. Any home tie against a team not in our league. Away at Fylde or Blackpool.
  3. He made a great save when Diouf was clean through and another good save either just before or just after that. However there is only Travis close to him for the goal and he doesn't really get in Waltons way. Walton just doesn't get high enough and takes his eye off it.
  4. Excellent bit of play by Dack to put Bennett clear for the second goal. Nothing spectacular but good touch, turn and weighted ball. Another great win. 4 from 5 now Tony Mowbray finally does what the fans have been screaming for since September.
  5. Agree with the last 2 posts (well last 2 but one now!). It's been made a tenner because they known it's an unattractive fixture now it's on Sky. It's the right move. When we get the usual 12000 home fans on though it will be used as an example of why 'cheap tickets' don't work and don't boost attendances.
  6. My point being if it is a game I can't get motivated to go out my why to attend, and I've paid for a ticket, it's not likely to attract the floating fan we are aiming for. Boxing day is always a good day out. I'm away for Christmas but coming back early enough to get to Ewood. We could have had a proper crowd on had it been done on then. Wigan on a Monday night live on Sky is not an attractive game,. All I, and others, have been saying many times is try it for a decent fixture on a Saturday afternoon. We never do.
  7. A Burnley fan texted me to say earlier that they were bringing so many across for today's game that the M65 was backed up to junction 6 all morning. ? I think he was joking. Having debated attendances with him in the past, he probably believes it!!
  8. Nothing dispelled. Many of us have said make it an appealing game. 3pm on a Saturday with a club that will bring a big following. Not a lunchtime kick off or a midweek match. , especially one right before Christmas. Had we been doing this offer Boxing Day I would have put money on a crowd over 18,000. As it stands, if I am stuck at work late that day then I will probably watch it on the box when I get home and I have a season ticket !!
  9. Category A pricing. £3 Waggot tax in place. Bah Humbug. It's not like it will be on the red button or anything.
  10. That probably came across more derogatory about him than I intended. He was (and is) very, very good at a lot of things. However he didn't have a standout world class quality like a Duff or a Beckham, despite the fact he probably had a more all round game than players like that. He is a player you probably appreciate him more when you see him week in, week out rather than on a highlights reel. As you say, a very intelligent footballer and you can see how he came to have 35 caps when he was younger.
  11. I know it's early in the game but credit to Dack for being involved in the move in his own half, then having the instinct to get back up in support and take his goal well. That's the big hidden attribute of Dack - instinct. He wants to get the ball and score goals, and he has the instinct to find the right spaces. Look at the winner on Saturday. It wasn't a difficult chance, and he had two bites at it, but he peeled away into space and gambled that somehow the ball would come to the back post. That's what other players we have don't do and that's why he's so dangerous, not because he can nutmeg someone on the half way line. Downing is just a proper footballer. When people like Johnson and Whittingham have lost 20% of their ability with age, their ability was only ever top of the championship evel in their prime, so they now struggle. Not so with Downing, You can see why he played at the top level despite not having any standout attribute. After the debacle of the likes of Murphy, Fowler, Brown etc.., SD is restoring my faith in signing old pros at the tail end of their career.
  12. Once i realised that he wasn't meant to be an expert co-commentator, and had been brought in as a one off, I didn't mind him. It's rare that someone on official media outlet would be allowed to basically say "we would have been better keeping Raya" and "Armstrong would be dangerous if he had an end product".
  13. Nyambe at full back. Bennet out. Graham starting. Rothwell starting. Armstrong not upfront on his own. Gallagher not wasting a position out wide. All things Mowbray has been consistent criticised for not doing and surprise, surprise clean sheet, good performance and a win. Rohwell was outstanding and it appears you can play him and Dack together and still work hard and win the ball in midfield. Same team at Stoke unless we have to switch Nyambe though injury. Rothwell and Armstrong will be a nightmare on the break. Hopefully one will find some end product. Excellent.
  14. Early seasonhe wasnt as bad as was being made out. All keepers make.misrakes but its becoming almost a goal-costing mistake in each game now which is worrying. Huddersfield, Preston, Sheff Wed and Barnsley to be precise. He comes across as a good lad in interviewd and on the pitch. He just doesnt look a championship number 1 since he has been here.
  15. Agree. Hence crowd anxiety at poor performances and team selections. The reception Graham got when he got off the bench warming up told everyone what the majority of the crowds thoughts on this are.
  16. It would be a bit of a shock if we won this, which considering we are at home to a side outside of the play-offs is disappointing.
  17. Strange comments from Mowbray, who suffered a bit of Mowbray sort it out. The problem is he is believing that the anxiety and angst from the crowd is at the players. It's not. It's at the lineups and tactics which he keeps employing. Is there anybody on here who wouldn't have reverted to starting Danny Graham by now? Is there anyone that would pick Armstrong as a lone striker? He is stubbornly trying to prove he is right with his team selections and favouritism at the cost of non-performances and points. Defenders should have been coming for 5 transfer windows but we have failed to adequately recruit in that area. He is continuing to make the same mistakes time and time again. To have a pop at the fans for daring to get anxious having been played off the pitch by Barnsley is only going to inflame the situation.
  18. I've not paid much attention to this iFollow stuff, but I'm away in France with work next week. Can I just pay to stream the Brentford game as one off next Wednesday even though I'm registered in the U.K.?
  19. And I was out of my seat in the ground for it. but I'm getting fed up of going down in all weathers watching the manager make the same mistakes. Gallagher out wide, where he has never had an effective game. Armstrong up front on his own, where he has hardly ever had an effective game. Graham on the bench, despite the fact once again there was much better link up play when he eventually got on the pitch. Mowbray is stubborn and it all goes back to that quote about needing another way to play other than Graham laying it off to Dack - which was rubbish as we just needed to be able to defend. Baring a massive change in what we have witnessed over the last 18 months, we are never going to compete for even a play off place under this manager as Mowbray cannot address the obvious defensive faults and cannot get the best out of the squad he has got. We struggled, got outplayed and should have lost against the bottom side mainly becuase of all the same faults we have shown this season. Therefore yes I celebrated the goal but felt veryflat at the final whistle because I'd spent 90 minutes witnessing the entire team selection and performance summing up exactly why Mowbray is failing us. Had I sat at home and just watched the goal come in on Flashscore I would probably have been over the moon at the end.
  20. 4 goals costing mistakes in 6 games.
  21. Probably quite a lot aren't. Looking at that England squad, how many would you class as a 'complete knob'?
  22. Just watched the Quest highlights. At least we are spreading the blame around defensively. All 4 are to blame. Del and Tosin for the first and Nyambe and Bennett for the second.
  23. I disagree in the fact that I think we would be challenging seriously for top 6. That is simply based on the number of times we have had 'good halves' against teams who are promotion contenders and the amount of goals we scored last year. To win the league we would need a whole new back four and keeper, but top 6 would have been wide open this year. If we replaced half the back 4, we would hopefully have cut out half the mistakes and that would make a big difference. Sheffield Wednesday are 7th and they were mediocre. You don't need to be great this year, just good. I think we have a number of Josh Kings in this squad, who under other management and in other teams would look far superior to how they currently appear. Travis and Rothwell to name but two.
  24. I think it was more of a case of we needed to get Graham on as he is the best striker we have got, but we can't keep taking Gally off as we paid 5mill for him.
  25. We needed a couple of defenders and another Striker in the summer. We got nothing resembling an upgrade in that area. With 2 new defenders and a good striker we wouldn't be far away, although we might need another keeper now (Walton was good today to be fair)
