  1. How come their guy shoots from 30 yards into the top corner, and yet the ineffective Buckley has a clear shot on the edge of the box and tries a daft little through ball. I didn't think any Rovers player could make this performance stink any more than it does, but this Chapman cameo is doing just that.
  2. We are in the bottom half of the table now.
  3. Birmingham players told me on Boxing Day that Holtby was off to West Brom for £7 million instead of Dack. ?
  4. Tony got his starting lineup wrong?
  5. I know he's nothing alone but Buckley is having a bit of a shocker. However at least he got in the box there.
  6. Interesting. Certainly plenty of options on the bench.
  7. So what we are saying that no Prem club is probably going to pay to bring Dack in. Therefore his best chance of getting a move to the Prem is to let his contract run down. Great.
  8. We signed him because the performances unsurprisingly nose dived after Shearer got injured. We didn't "find a way to keep winning" as you said. We won just 2 league games in Between January and Gallagher arriving at the end of March, and crashed out of both cups. We should easily have got past Sheffield united in the fa cup QF but drew a blank at Ewood and ended up having to throw Steve livingstone into the mix for the replay. The signings of Gallagher and Le Saux revitalised us for the last couple of months and nearly dragged us back into Europe. Losing Shearer was a disaster for what might have been that season.
  9. No, we just went out and replaced him by buying Kevin Gallagher.
  10. Don't understand? So who has put him on the bench for the last 7 games on the run since he was fit again?
  11. Samuel and Chapman are consigned to scoring and assisting for the under 23's, when Brereton has done nothing for the under 23's but gets on the bench and in the first team. Anyone got any other reason other than he cost money so Mowbray has to pick him?
  12. Don't get how people expect Rothwell and Holtby to replace Dack. They might replace work outside of the box but inside the box statistically he is twice as good as a goal poacher. I think the only way we cope without him is if Tosin and Lenihan continue to look rock solid at the back and enable us to nick games with the odd goal or two. Get him back fired up and raring to go by March if Kamy's diagnosis is to be believed.
  13. Gallagher looked ok at Bristol city. Brereton was still carried. Dack is a huge loss. Not just for his play on the ball but for those goals where he just happens to be in the right place at the right time.
  14. Been out all day. Just got home and now having to grab something to eat quickly and get to a Ewood. I've got a season ticket and I'm tempted to stop rushing around and watch it on Sky. Been at a family function today and met only one person going tonight. About 5 or 6 others were going on Boxing Day. Cheap tickets for midweek Sky games are not a big draw. Do it for plum 3pm kick off games!!! I said early season that Birmingham should have been £10. We would have 20000+ easily had that been a tenner.
  15. Think you've been watching too many YouTube videos of Big Ben, and not what he's been doing on the pitch.
  16. Brentford apart, he hasn't been great. However he adds pace and more attacking danger to the team. All alternatives are far slower and don't offer the same threat. I just think he gives the opposition more to be worried about. Unless we have a downturn in form then I would persevere. I do worry a bit about Monday because under Bowyer we blew every chance we had to get in the top 6.
  17. Gallagher, who I have never been overly impressed by, has looked a bit quicker and sharper in recent games. More like the player here on loan a couple of years ago. I'd still be starting Graham if possible but at least Gallagher is starting to look like a viable replacement. As for Brereton, I still don't see the potential there. If I was Dominic Samuel, with something like 6 goals in 4 appearances for the under 23's, I'd be a bit miffed I wasn't getting on the bench in his place. Chapman is told to do it for the under 23's before he gets a chance, yet Brereton is given chance after chance.People say his fee shouldn't come in to it, but his fee is the only reason he is getting picked.
  18. Yep. Three great goals in different ways. That first strike is a peach.
  19. Paul Cook on quest. "We dont lack character or fitness, we lack naivity" ?
  20. Always bet what you think will happen, not what you want to happen.
  21. True. I'm putting it all down to Nyambe ? 4 weeks ago I would have played Mulgrew had he still been here but not now.
  22. It depends on whether you think it was a coincidence that the fans turned against Barnsley or not. Mowbray was stubborn for over 3 months. Suddenly there is a bit of unrest from the stands, TM is commenting on it in the papers and then most of the changes are made the following game. Had the not happened, would he still have made the changes he did against Brentford? I'm not so sure. He may not have read fans comments on a forum but I'm fairly sure he was aware of their thoughts in general. Either that or he was left feeling he had to win against Brentford or his job was on the line (either from the owners or from his own comments leaving him with little option). Therefore he went back to what he know worked from last year, play into Graham and try and play off him. I only turned against TM in the last month, and that was because I didn't believe a manager could take us forward if he could not see and correct such obvious flaws in the team. The recent run has proved I, and others, were correct about those flaws. Long may this run continue, but lets hope if we get injuries or if someone does lose form that he doesn't revert to type as it doesn't work.
  23. No but he made his choices when the crowd started to turn against Barnsley and he knew he couldn't afford to lose the Brentford game. Bennett was proving a liability at right back. Left back was a major issue. Gallagher was wasting a spot keep appearing out wide, Armstrong was lost up front and Rothwell wasn't getting a decent chance to make an impression. Mowbray may not have caved in to fan pressure, but he did make the switches which fans had been calling for for some time. The issue was that the problems were obvious but Mowbray was too stubborn to change until the fans finally started to snap. The one change I don't think people were calling for was the Evans / Travis centre, The stat which Rich Sharp, keeps tweeting about that partnership (P12 W9) tells its own story.
