As for the game itself, season is over so we are in pre-season mode now almost. Results are pretty irrelevant providing we pick up a win every 3 or 4 games. I watched last night emotionally unconnected to the game. Of course I wanted us to win but the result is almost pointless. I wasn't gutted that we had fallen behind or were losing. That changed when the ref and lino failed to give the Nyambe penalty, at which point I switched back to normal, got really angry at the game and opposition and became desperate for an equaliser.

As much as I've criticised Mowbray recently, Dack has been back for 3 months now. It's not like he has just returned from injury last week. I would suspect he should be able to play a full 90 minutes twice in a week at this stage. When Shearer returned and scored against Newcastle in 93 we didn't phase him back in over the next three months. He played practically every minute from that point onwards

As I pointed out in the previous 2 games, if you get the ball regularly into the box and allow Dack to find space then he will be the Dack of old. He's a technically gifted goal poacher. That's how he has always scored most of his goals. He scored against Swansea finding space in the box. He had a golden chance in the last minute of the previous game at Ewood before that because his movement and touch was superb but he fluffed the shot. However we are playing him in a basicmidfield role. Its all wrong for him. He's always 30 yards from goal and just receiving it and playing it off simple. The formation is screwed for him. Put BB up top, get Dack just off him and fire it in to them. It's got to be better than 20 passes in our own half and then lump it into a channel for Dolan to chase

But Nyambe probably doesn't think Trybull is going to give it away so cheaply when we are in posession.

i think its important to get something tomorrow as it's not unfeasible to see us getting 0 or 1 points from Swansea, Bristol City, Brentford and Norwich. After that run we could be within 3 points of the relegation zone. Whilst the fixtures are kinder from then on, and I would expect us to gather enough points in the run-in, we will be in the thick of it and it will come down to nerves and bottle as much as anything else.
