  1. We’d probably call Nyambe in to weed, but let him sit there while Bennett, JRC or Gally do it instead.
  2. Lenihan leaving itself doesn’t bother me. The fact we got relegated with Lenihan and Mulgrew in the side 5 years ago, and we’ve never permanently signed a better defender to the club in all that time, worries me.
  3. Exactly. Looks an interesting appointment on paper, but if decisions are taking way to long to be approved, or simply ignored, from those that really have the power it might be a case of how long will he stick with us, rather than the other way around.
  4. If Wagner rolled up now after this list of names I’d crack the champagne.
  5. When I had the discussion with Birdie that Venkys were clearly going to be bad for the club back in the early protest days he looked at me like I was from a different planet then. None as blind as those who cannot see.
  6. I’d imagine that if after several weeks of interviews we suddenly decided to approach a thrice-relegated from the championship manager already in a job, then we’ve probably been turned down by several of our initial targets. I would also imagine that if we made an approach to Rotherham to speak to him, then we’ve already spoken off the record and he’s highly likely to get it. I can’t see us rocking Rotherhams boat to speak to him, then turn him down.
  7. I actually think the Nations League has been a good idea. It’s just daft having them now to accommodate a winter World Cup.
  8. Well that was a depressing catch up on the afternoon posts. Wagner is suddenly seemingly like Bob Paisley compared to the other likely lads.
  9. I know we are off topic slightly but I don't understand your first paragraph. The question I always asked here is did Wagner act in the interest of helping Huddersfield achieve their best outcome that season? The answer is undoubtably yes. They had just played 4 games in 11 days and had got enough points to secure their play-off position. Why risk asking your team to play a 5th game in 15 days when all modern medical teams will tell you it comes with increased risks of injury to your players? I was frustrated at the time, but I can now accept that Wagner did the right thing for his squad of players and his club.
  10. Re Wagner. This is the man who once Huddersfield had secured a top 6 finish rested his players against Birmingham in 2017 to make sure his team as in the best possible form for the play offs. Which they duly won and made millions by getting to the Premier League. Top club management and job done. It wasn't his fault Coyle had been so shite. When Mowbray rested half of his team at Charlton after we had been promoted, which potentially cost Plymouth a play off place, I don't recall Rovers fans slating him for on behalf of Plymouth. (More so on behalf of us winning the league).
  11. Now when Kean and Coyle turned out to be crap and the fans used their voice, no one listened and we went down.
  12. The club are doing good things apparently.. They’ve also put BBE season tickets up almost £100 since the COVID season, despite record low sales.
  13. Let’s hope Kompany loves misery.
  14. We don’t refuse to think that history will just repeat itself. We accept that it will . 👍
  15. Few chances but Forest clearly better in the first half. Huddersfield better in the second but couldn’t really create anything although they had two penalties turned down, the second blatant and VAR said no in about 5 seconds. Not a great game. I’d say overall Forest did the job. But Huddersfield fans will be slagging Jon Moss and VAR off for the rest of their lives.
  16. I’d have been happier if we had somebody lined up back in April when we obviously knew Mowbray wasn’t being kept on. Clearly we had no plan, so we’ve gone to a full on interview stage. In which case, as long as the best candidate who was interviewed is in place for the job before the team comes back fine. But you can’t interview the names mentioned and then come up with Big Dunc.
  17. The first one I can accept because although there’s contact he does throw himself down. But the second one - wow. VAR will chalk your goal off because an inaccurately-drawn line puts you 5cm offside, but can’t even recommend the referee has a look at that incident. Wow.
  18. The issue is clearly caused by the organisation, which pushed 20,000 fans through a 1m wide funnel which bottlenecked, then only 2 open turnstiles. Have you watched the above? If there was more alternative checkpoints then most of that doesn't happen. The kick off was delayed as the checkpoint / turnstile couldn't let enough people through. Had people got in the ground in good time this wouldn't even be a story The police conduct, in many instances, was clearly heavy-handed.
  19. I don’t know because I don’t watch them. But you can’t get more points than everyone else in the league over 25 games at the crunch-end of the season if you are ‘completely bang average’.
