  1. If you are Waggot and you’re leaving in the summer (allegedly) or you’re Mowbray and your contract is up in the summer (and let’s be honest most thought he would be gone when that happened), where is the motivation to solve a problem occurring 2 years later down the line.
  2. To be fair at the time most people probably complained Kuqi wasn’t good enough either.
  3. At least George Courtney righted his wrongs.
  4. Remember when we went 2-0 up at Preston, then they brought that big lump on up front against Williams and Tosin and we ended up getting beat 3-2. What I like about this team is that would have just been bread and butter for them. Proper central defenders.
  5. Your actually kind of backing up my point. What you are saying is the player who could have played instead of the one that did could have done a better job for the team. My point is you can't say without Gally playing we wouldn't have beaten Reading just because he scored the first goal. Somebody else takes his place.
  6. This argument crops up from time to time on various players and it doesn't really work because if Gally wasn't playing someone else would be, and may contribute less / the same / more. (as @CambridgeRover has said above) For example, if Gallagher was on the bench for the Reading game then Khedra may have started. Who is to say we wouldn't have won 3 or 4 nil if Khedra had played. Silly extreme, but had Gallagher been playing and keeping a prime Alan Shearer on the bench, you wouldn't say without Gally we'd be 8th or 9th. It would be a case of had he not been playing we'd have been top. Having said that he did well on Monday, worked his arse off and took the winning goal well.
  7. Rothwell surely sits tight if he wants to play at the top level If we get promoted he is in the premier league. If we don't and Bournemouth do, if they are genuinely interested they just pick him up on a free.
  8. He works and runs the channels if needed, but definitely central tonight.
  9. Decent following by Boro for a Monday night Sky game.
  10. Khadra or Rothwell probably.
  11. To be fair it only takes a point to be clear 2nd.
  12. Not really. Ayala hasn’t started a league game since the defeat to QPR mid-October. The defensive form during our superb run has been all down to the introduction of Van Hecke and Wharton.
  13. This has been far from totally wicked.
  14. He’s been that bad he’ll score here.
  15. So do I. But nobody ever needed to.
  16. You’re noticing what Trav actually does without the ball here.
  17. Both games over Christmas people were just showing their match ticket on their phones to get past the stewards checking vaccine passports. Basically you just needed to show any QR code and they let you through.
  18. To be fair you never did.
  19. Rovers know the feeling will be generally negative with having a vaping company as main kit sponsor. When Recoverite was announced there was a lot of description who they were and what they did on the website press release. Neither the club or Totally Wicked make any mention at all of what the company do on yesterdays post on the website. That’s pretty telling.
  20. The goal in the United game was disallowed because the player who did the blocking was offside, not for the actual foul. (Just as @Tyrone Shoelacessays. I should have read the thread through 🙃)
  21. I received RE3 for my birthday early last year and then Village for Christmas. It felt wrong not playing 3 through first.
  22. Not sure why you’re so truculent. It wasn’t meant as an antagonist reply. But Kaminsky only had to make one (excellent) save and then when they hit the post he had it perfectly covered stood right behind the miss-hit cross. In the last 5 games only 2 teams have scored more than us so scoring isn’t a worrying problem at the moment . We ain’t going to bang 3 in every game, but if we now also have the ability to nick a goal and defend it in games where we aren’t playing well then that’s a huge positive. Not a negative. They did play poorly going forward today. But they defended extremely well and were certainly not ‘flukey’ to hang on to that lead.
  23. It was against the run of play posession-wise but I wouldn’t say flukey. I would if they were hitting the post and missing good chances but not in how the game panned out. We had some good situations before we went 1 up and I thought we were the better side up until the goal. Then we sat back and miserably failed in trying to hit them on the break. Those tactics might not have worked for us offensively, but when you have a defence that have conceded just 3 goals in the last 10 league games then you know if you get in front you can hold the lead (whoever thought we would say that about Tony’s Rovers). Therefore to concede a lot of possession once in front and not be an attacking force but comfortably hang on isn’t flukey. Weirdly, I never felt like we were going to concede there, where previously you just sat there waiting for it to happen.
  24. The first booking is a bit ridiculous by the ref, but Nyambe was stupid for the second yellow.
