  1. Or that story has been put out because they knew they were going to sell and wanted to make it look like they tried. Brittain and his team must have known there would be interest so why would you go from “about to sign” to “wanting to move to Boro”. Whatever the truth or narrative, you are correct as in he shouldn’t refuse to play IF the club are demanding him to. If , like Szmodics, he says I don’t want to and they say “fair enough” then that’s different. If it was a league game I’d be spitting though.
  2. That just says talks started. Ismael said talks were starting and would intensify after the season ended in 10 days. Which reminds me that Easter was late and only a couple of weeks before the season ended. As far as we know from reports, Rovers didn’t offer a contract until May when the retained list was released. It should have been sorted back in January once we saw how good a players he was. The closer to June it gets, the more he would, start considering other option.
  3. Source? Jackson, Batth himself and Ismael all said otherwise at the end of April.
  4. Just paid attention to it. It does look like the club tbh. It’s like they’ve found and muzzled @insiderRovers, but thought “hmm, we could do that to our advantage”
  5. Did he? I don’t recall him saying that, but it’s a long while since I’ve seen the podcasts he did after he left.
  6. Dont get me wrong, I agree with you that the player is being paid and should never refuse to play. Szmodics was wrong to do it, but I think we only allowed it (almost with our blessing) as we were willing sellers. It was never going to harm us and I suspect the club didn't want Sammy injured as they were planning for his sale and exit in the coming months. Here we are led to believe they are planning for Brittain to be a key part of the team for the next 4 years, so they should be more stern. (if true of course, a random shitty tweet can sometimes just become gospel)
  7. We actively wanted to sell Szmodics. We were just trying to get the fee to what we thought was acceptable, but the player and the club knew that ultimately he would be leaving. Difference with Brittain is we are told we are actively trying to keep him.
  8. If your are not an intended seller then you play him as part of your pre-season routine. If it was a league game or a big cup tie I'd worry about his 'head', but not a 45 minute kick around in the sun at Stanley.
  9. If Eustace thinks Pasha is a lying nobhead who is hindering progress, nothing Waggot says comes to fruition as he’s no power and he’s getting frustrated and stressed dealing with them on a daily basis then yes Derby would be a better job. It’s not just how good your training pitch is. That’s why JDT wanted to walk for free.
  10. I don’t disagree with much of what you say, but most people in most walks of life will take the opportunities of a better job, whether that’s for money, working conditions or future prospects. Randomly calling someone who did a good job for us a “fat prick” does you no favours.
  11. I’m not upset. You are , showed by calling Eustace a fat prick. We didn’t offer Baath and Weimann a contract until the season had ended. We don’t have to sell Brittain. Eustace isn’t ravaging us, because if he doesn’t sign them someone else will as they are free or we are willing sellers. Now I thought maybe you’re annoyed at the current situation, and aren’t one of those childish snake carriers from earlier in the season. But no, you were. . Hisssss
  12. Brittain isn’t going for money. He’s going because he now knows the club has no ambition and is run like a shit show. The exact same reason Eustace went. When colleagues you work with and you like are forced out of the company you work for, you will start looking at your options. That’s human nature. The fact he can get more money will be a factor, but listening and dealing with Pasha and Waggot will be another. Run by clowns, expect a circus.
  13. Eustace told us all he wanted his senior players to get new contracts but the club were refusing to discuss. That’s one of the reasons why he left - there was no forward planning. But you stick with your bitter jilted-ex persona and get those rubber snakes ready for next year. Hisssssss. Hisssssss.
  14. Where’s these rankings come from?
  15. As mentioned, he had that purple patch under JDT including Huddersfield and QPR away but just hasn’t done it regular enough. Good luck to him, but he’s one of the ones we can afford to lose.
  16. Yep. The leaked letters showed that an agent was running the transfer side of the club and over-ruling the board, completely against FA rules, and yet they turned a blind eye. When they ignored something so blatant, that told me the authorities have no appetite to get involved with problem owners breaking their rules.
  17. In my opinion last years success was down to:- - Baath proving a better centre half and better organiser than we had. - Tronstadt & Travis proving a stern partnership. - Eustace making us difficult to break down, hence the string of 1-0s that shot us up the table. A manager who knew how to get results with the resources he had. Baath going is a huge blow and I’d like a direct replacement. If we were to get another centre half and a striker (and they could be loans) I’d be happy with the squad if we kept Trav and Tron, and Toth actually proved himself to be decent (still unknown). The fear is we lose Brittain and one of the midfield T’s, and we don’t add a centre half or striker. That would leave us struggling. I’m not displeased so far, but the whole window will be shaped by outgoings.
  18. Baath clearly hasn't been replaced. And time will tell if we have replaced Weimann's "goal every 210 minutes" contribution from last season. But I'd be surprised if we have.
  19. Tronstadt has been with us for two years and yet most Championship fans know nothing about him. Cos he’s not flashy and doesn’t garner ‘stats’ he flies under the general fans radar.
  20. At least hitting Rudy’s target of 3000 academy minutes will be achieved relatively early.
  21. Looking at fees paid on ‘’unknown gambles’ the last few windows I’d say Ohashi is the only one who I’d say has paid off. And not spectacularly. He’s just better than what we have, because we have very little up top. Gueye has been mediocre so far except for one spell. Toth unproven, but benefits from Pears being not good enough. O’Riordan, Wahlstedt, Telalovic, Kargbo, Edun were the unknown punts who haven’t proven worth the cash, albeit 2 still have time. The better transfers over recent years have either been buying the ‘better’ players from teams below us - Hyam, Sammy, Pickering, Brittain. Also picking up previously proven quality with Baath and Weimann. Rebeiro was decent but free with Championship experience. That’s the worry. The recruitment team are now forced to operate into the area which has been our least successful area of recruitment. Cheap foreigners.
  22. It’s ‘only’ around £16.5k to £20k a week which for a free transfer is probably realistic.
  23. No last summer, after someone else had initially broke the interest, was when he said Ohashi was in Manchester and having a medical, and it turned out he was still in Japan and hadn’t even travelled yet. He was miles out on that one, literally.
  24. I take it back then. As Rovers haven’t posted it or quoted it, it doesn’t show on the your feed unless you follow Liverpool as well.
  25. I mean Portugal women played in the euros and all football clubs (including rovers - who didn’t even acknowledge the tragedy) continued posting on social media. But yeah don’t release a fixture list.
