  1. I always found with Gallagher you knew within about 10 minutes if he was going to get the better of the centre halves. Usually it was a resounding no, but there were games (Usually Preston away) where he caused them trouble immediately and was a pain all game. It was just they were few and far between. Honest player on the pitch. Met him a couple of times. Nice lad. Good with the fans, especially the youngsters. Genuinely hope he does well. Glad he’s gone.
  2. Exactly. A new contract after 6 months is crazy talk. Eustace reign so far has had good points and bad points. I was hoping that shocking away capitulations like last night were resigned to the Mowbray and JDT era's but it seems not. However it's still been a good start points-wise. Let's hope he can change personnel and shape to solve the away form. JDT would have just gone out and said "Stick to the plan, same again lads". I think JE is a bit more flexible.
  3. Agree. I thought at the start of the week 3 points from these 2 games would be a good return. That's still on. It's just the performance was diabolical. Think "Bristol City away" from last year bad.
  4. Looking like being the BRFCS man of the match.
  5. Hurry up @Herbie6590 I want to put my 1’s and 2’s in before I go to bed.
  6. Stay at home next time please Jim.
  7. One if the worst performances of recent times. It's been as bad as Bristol City and Southampton last year. We're just lucky the scoreline doesn't reflect it. I thought the start we had was a bit false, but this is a proper reality check.
  8. First time where Travis / Tronstadt in midfield has really stiffled us. There’s balls on to move forward quickly and they don’t take them. That 2 minute spell when we looked quite good was us just moving the ball quickly but simply. However too many times instead of playing that way we either try a Hollywood ball or Cantwell / Dolan tries to beat 3 players. Just keep it simpler. Id get ACD on for Weimann and either Buckley or Baker on for Travis.
  9. Hedges could have headed that away if he was on the near post 🤔😉
  10. Yep. It's like saying Ryan Lowe should have been given a new contract at this point last season when they had a better record than we have now. Good job for Preston they didn't do that ! It's promising, but let's not get carried away.
  11. Cantwell has been in training for 30 days. How much more fitness time does he need to start games? Weimann is older and had been training less (and played less games last season) when he started at Burnley.
  12. I've no issue with it, although I can understand why some people do. I do have an issue with Rovers running their current ticket office on what seems like a staffing level where we are already digital-only, whilst still operating paper tickets.
  13. Too soon. I’m over the moon with how we have started, but I can also see there’s been a slice of fortune there. There’s a few things I’d still like to see from a JE team - going to either Plymouth or a Coventry this week and being the better side for example. Whilst the three away games so far have been ‘gritty’, I don’t feel the performances have been amazing.
  14. It’s fine in the JW so they won’t give a shit about you.
  15. I know. Just making the point it looked to me like quite a lot of season ticket holders sacked it off, possibly because of the kick off time. If we did therefore get 4000 walk-ons who wanted to come on a Saturday lunchtime against uninspiring opposition when it’s available on Sky that’s pretty good.
  16. Considering they brought only about 800, 13k+ wasn’t too bad. However it felt much less than that. My two season ticket holding buddies didn’t go and I suspect quite a few others.
  17. How can buying a ticket early on a Thursday morning and being told the only free option is collection, but I can’t collect it until Monday be to anyones liking. That can’t and should not be ‘the future’.
  18. Which is fine, but twice I have gone down over 24 hours after I purchased and got told to come back next week as they weren’t available for collection.
  19. We were a shambles on the pitch for the second half of last season and a shambles in the Indian courtrooms. The talk all summer was of selling Szmodics and having no money to spend. We hadn't won a home game under the new manager. Of course that wasn't a platform for increasing sales organically. Yasir acknowledges a lack of signings was an issue with supporters. Add to that last summers 'cheap' signings were generally shit. So when we did suddenly get our act together and start bringing players in, by then the season tickets were no longer 'cheaper'. They had gone up by £82 in my area. The club were told by numerous people that the pricing should have been held all summer because people aren't going engage with that increase. If they'd have been on sale at the original "early bird" price after the Derby game I guarantee they would have sold 20% more tickets than they did after that game at the "Fat Cat" price which they ended up at. You see this in business all the time. Stupid people making bad decisions but cleverly spinning a narrative upwards to try and justify themselves. Normally they are the only ones who gets to communicate with a higher level.

  21. Looking back at last season after 6 games it’s very similar. Top had 16 points (Preston!) , 6th had 11 points and mid table had 8 points. I’m guessing over a period of 6 games at any point in the season the form table would look similar. It’s consistency across the season. I agree it is interesting to monitor. Nice one @TheKitGuy
  22. "But we only sold 3 tickets on the day." Probably cos you had told Blackpool they weren't available. And if you hadn't, they tagged you in a couple of times that week saying no sales on the day. Surely you should have corrected them. How come I know this, but 6 senior officials at Rovers attending a supporters forum and using it as an excuse don’t?
  23. Lol. He's the same height as Messi and a couple of cm shorter than Maurice Greene.
