  1. I said that yesterday. Being big doesn’t make a great header. Samba was a big lad, could read the flight of the ball and had a decent leap. Shearer wasn’t the tallest, but he could read the flight of the ball the moment it left the wingers foot. Gueye is just tall. He naturally will get his head on things, but there’s not a lot of control on it. Then again, as we say about a lot of players, if he could leap and head it like Duncan Ferguson he wouldn’t be here.
  2. How incompetent is our academy staff to not even think he was "that good". Unless we're lying of course.
  3. Here you go Chaddy If the club are refusing to publish these as an honest representation of the meeting, who do you think is lying - The club? Or every fans forum attendee who agreed that these minutes are accurate?
  4. Alebiosu was OK in a knock-it-and-run down the wing and cross or win a corner kind of way. Still should have done better for the goal regardless of the attention of the opposition player. He doesn't worry me as much as De Neve and Hendriksson did ,as we have another potentially good option there with Miller.
  5. If Kargbo is considered to be our best player then we really are screwed. Yep. And as we hadn't taken possession of the ball when the ref blew, the defender was the one who had played the ball last he was right to give it to them. For the Miller one, he waited before he blew, so they had time to take possession and break.
  6. Ok, but that was exactly the point I was arguing when you initially quoted me.
  7. As surely does saying if we had got the penalty we would have got at least a point. We might have missed it or they might have started attacking again.
  8. So if he’d sent Henriksson off in the first 15 minutes you have been happy and we would have got a point. He would have got booked for 2 of those 3 fouls in the second half. And Travis is all over Price for their goal. He was generally shit and it was a penalty on Yuki but come on, it wasn’t his fault we could muster a meaningful chance.
  9. Just to clarify, I was highlighting his stupidity rather than agreeing 😉
  10. The interviewer said we should possibly have come away with at least a point.
  11. He was brought in by Rudy from the scrap heap and now has 3 years still on his contract. Big Val will tow the party line a bit longer IMO.
  12. Last season we would create some chances but could miss them, but today we just looked like we had no ideas. Dolan, Cantwell or Brittain haven’t always been lorded by many as being great creative options on, but they were clearly missed. Watching Ismael’s interview he talks about the new players having athleticism, physicality, flexibility etc.., but ultimately they need to be decent footballers with a decent footballing brain. Otherwise they will just look like Usain Bolt does at Soccer Aid. Don’t get me wrong, it is too early to make judgement on the new guys, but take Kargbo. All I see at the moment is pace, yet on its own it is ineffective. Back to the new guys only McLaughlin impressed me today. Miller should be ok, Alebiosu should have been stronger for the goal and had Amari Bell vibes going forward, De Neve and Henriksson were poor. If you can’t create anything in open play, then you need to maximise at set pieces. However delivery has been awful for years now. I’m not expecting a MGP or a Charlie Mulgrew, but a decent height and accuracy on a whipped delivery once in a while should be something one of our footballers can do. Tronstadt was also uncharacteristically poor today also which didn’t help.
  13. 2 goals after Dion Sanderson came on in the 93rd minute 😂
  14. Full time. Operation Downgrade initiated.
  15. Probably got the coach down this morning so the club hasn’t had to pay fora big hotel bill 👍
  16. They were far better until they scored. Since then it’s gone pretty even, but I think they’ve just sat on it a bit.
  17. That’s a bad miss at the back post by McLoughlin. He’s got a free header at that and loops it wide.
  18. He reminded me of Amari Bell in his first game. Could knock it down the line and run after it so looked like he could do something, but ultimately that was his one “trick”. At least he’s been involved.
  19. Early days. Only 55 minutes, Yada yada yada. But yeah, certainly De Neve and the Swede looked lost.
