Clearly JDT had rocked the boat long enough for them to already be planning their next move, hence JE being brought in so quickly. Eustace leaving wasn't expected and has caught them flat footed.
-
86 to 91 they won the second tier then spent 4 years in the top flight. That probably counts as a spell where they were the ‘better team’.
-
Late 80s. Better than Rovers but hardly a “footballing force”

Probably not. As enjoyable as yesterday was with some very good individual performances, Plymouth also looked like a team in the bottom 3. -

I’m not sure I’m fully buying Forshaw’s celebration excuse. Once he moved away from the bench he made a point of walking towards the Plymouth fans who had been booing him and gave a bit of a celebration in their direction. I think he knew what he was doing to some degree. -

Ribeiro was excellent. Proper full back. Like Tronstadt, he just doesn’t seem to lose a tussle. Ive been Forshaw biggest critic, and I’ll preface this with I thought Plymouth were one of the poorer sides we’ve seen here, but he was excellent today bar the dodgy backpass. -

I agree, but it won’t be his call and probably wont happen. And therein lies the problem. -
Preston 0-0 Burnley Doesn’t do either of them much good. Will be an interesting cup tie in a few weeks, especially with the fall out from Hannibal and the Biter.

Well, Buckley clearly. And Kagbo instead of ACD. -

It looks like it lacks ‘significant investment’. -

Don’t worry. We’ve only brought him in as a squad player. -
Medical emergency.

Burnley always look limited going forward, really lack ideas. If they ever went behind they would be in trouble having to open up and chase games. Problem is, you have to say the two at the back are outstanding every week, so it doesn’t happen. And eventually they nick one.
-
To emphasise your point further, on Skybet you cant even get £50 on. The max bet is between £5 to £30 depending on the odds. And those small stakes are still enough to move the market.

We cant sign players on long contracts. We cant renew players contracts. We do not know if Venkys will send any funds other than the bare minimum required to keep us just about functioning. We are clearly incapable of making a future plan, hence why the 'project has changed' twice in the last two summer transfer windows. I guarantee Derby will have an absolute better idea how they will fund the club whilst trying to progress next year, regardless of divison, than we do. Be mad at Eustace by all means, but dont ignore the absolute potential shitshow he is leaving.
-
Couldn't say? Did he name the two unemployed then?
-
Half the squad gone in the summer. A lot of the rest out of contract next summer. Most of the signings this January only till May. Clearly no plan how they are going to finance recruiting a new squad as we are living almost month to month. That's not what he was expecting, and he thinks going to Derby is a better option for him over the next couple of years than staying at Rovers. Personality-wise he is not as volatile as JDT, and is probably the more 'professional' approach of the two so he's not going to shoot his mouth off. I've yet to see many (any) quotes which annoy me (although I'm at work so haven't followed all interviews). I'm just not sure what people expect.
-
I mean, for 5 months he couldn't strike a ball cleanly. Suddenly he's hits it like Roberto Carlos.
-
Worryingly interesting that David Lowe takes charge tonight instead on DJ. He is in the betting list, and it really wouldn’t surprise anyone.
-
Fair play mate. Hope he continues to impress people. I don’t think he’s very good, but we’ve now got far bigger issues atm.
-
The first question should be "does the manager have a reputation to lose or other potential future options". Carsley is a yes. Therefore I doubt he will happen. It will be somebody who feels they need to prove themselves again and fears they will struggle to get an opportunity.
-
Go do a work placement at Ewood. You would be amazed at where that can lead to. Ask Rudy.
-
Don’t worry. He’s got a job. Therefore he costs money.
-
After the recent incoming players being all short term, I fear the club would struggle to offer more than an 18 month contract to a new manager There will be very little security in it for whoever comes in, who will also surely realise the impending squad problems. I think even then likes of Edwards could just pass on this ‘opportunity’.

I'd taken your 'not washing with me' line to mean you don't believe him. Now I agree on the family reasons line. That's bullshit. But its blindingly obvious that he doesn't feel the club have done what they said they would do regarding investment and transfer, and that he feels that Derby would be a better place to work despite their league position than continue working with Waggot/Suhail and these owners. That's the truth. Jackson, who never rocks the boat at Ewood, is reporting it as blunt as can be. It's the same reasons we heard from JDT. It's the same reasons Lambert was leaving us 9 years ago. You may well believe that actually he got enough support (Sanderson!), but he obviously feels he hasn't otherwise he wouldn't be off. 14 players out of contract in the summer. No contracts renewed since 2023. No guarantees that we will spend anything to replace those players. 1 year deals for journeymen. Free transfers in on 6 months deals. Loans. No proven quality brought in. No guarantees the financial situation will change. It's practically an impossible job for a coach to keep moving this club forward. That's why he's left.
